Daisy Chain is owned by Derek and Naomi. We have 3 children, aged 6 and under and enjoy letting our home for others to enjoy. We regularly visit the property and ensure that it is kept to a high standard.
Naomi Saunders purchased this villa in 2012
In 2010 we went on holiday to the Lower Mill estate for a birthday celebration with our extended family. We had never heard of the Cotwolds Water Park before, but as soon as we arrived at Lower Mill Estate we loved it. Our children could run around, cycle, swim, canoe, hunt for beavers....the list goes on! Since then we have returned to the Lower Mill Estate twice. When we visited in October 2012 we found that Daisy Chain was for sale - and now we are the owners! We just love walking into the house and seeing the amazing views across the lake. The sunrises are amazing...the moon reflected in the lake...the stars so much clearer than from towns and cities. We hope you love it as much as we do! It is a fabulous property for family celebrations and is often booked for milestone birthdays and anniversaries. It works really well as a property where different generations can be brought together with plenty for everyone to enjoy.
Since having children we have been on a range of self catering holidays in a number of different locations. We often find that before going we have to run around the house packing a lot of 'children kit!' We have tried to equip Daisy Chain with the things you will need to make your holiday that little bit more relaxing - there is a baby monitor, cot and travel cot, changing mat, high chair, children's plastic plates and cups, and toys and books to keep little ones amused. We have installed broadband so that if you do need to do a bit of work while you are on holiday you can. Lots of the properties on the estate are situated on smaller lakes and 'look in at each other'. Daisy Chain doesn't - Somerford lagoon is the largest lake and of course part of the nature reserve.

"Wonderful house - very comfortable - home from home. Spectacular views and a great week off." Feb 2013
Daisy Chain is the best equipped and most comfortable holiday property we've stayed in. It is spacious and laid out over 3 floors so that the 3 generations holidaying could both be together or spend some time relaxing apart. It's ideally located for trips to Cirencester, Bath, Bourton on the Water and other lovely parts of the Cotswolds. The Lower Mill Estate is quiet and very family oriented and we made good use of the spa. The owner was very helpful in responding to our questions. Would definitely recommend the house!
We had a wonderful stay thank you. We have stayed at Lower Mill many times over the last 7 years and your house was equipped perfectly for our holiday. The views were beautiful and we were lucky one night to see from the balcony a vast gathering of starlings making incredible patterns over Somerford Lake, a real experience for the kids to see!
We would love to return to Daisy Chain as it was brilliantly laid out for two families.
We booked Daisy Chain for a group of 8 adults over the early May bank holiday weekend and had a great time. The house is lovely and well equipped but I had one or two niggles. Firstly, with a group of 8 adults, the stairgates were a slight problem. You couldn't get cases upstairs easily and there didn't seem to be enough room on the top stair where the gate is, to put your foot safely to come downstairs. Perhaps they could be taken down when there is only adults? Also I think that the double beds should be kingsize in a luxury cottage, which this is and maybe bigger towels should be provided as some of our party said the bath towels were rather small and only one hand towel was provided for two people. However, the house is lovely and the view is stunning!
We had a really fantastic time thank you. It's a lovely house and a great location.
You have equipped it perfectly for families with young children.
We look forward to future visits.
We had a really fantastic time at Daisy Chain. The house is well maintained, beautifully positioned and feels very "solid". I particularly loved seeing how the view changed with the light and weather every day.
Everything is stylish, clean and comfortable and ideal for a range of ages and stages. My son and nephew (3 and 1) enjoyed the toys, swimming pool and large living space and the grown ups equally enjoyed the log burning stove and relaxed feel of the place.
Naomi, the owner, was extremely helpful and efficient throughout our stay, even posting on two presents which got caught in their locked mail box.
The kitchen is easy to work in and large meals are no problem. The only tiny gripe would be that the fridge is relatively small for a full on Christmas shop for an extended family but this is no problem with a bit of forward planning.
We would be very happy to come back again, maybe in a different season so make more of exploring the lagoon and the nature reserve.
We booked Daisy Chain as a surprise 21st celebration for our son, the owner Naomi could not have been more helpful or accomodating and there was even a box of chocolates waiting for us on our arrival. The house has wonderful views over the lakes of the Lower Mill Estate, is well placed for the very luxurious spa with its indoor and outdoor heated pools, it's also just a short walk to the general store which was very well stocked for a weekend break. Daisy Chain had a very well equipped kitchen and some lovely serving dishes which really made the birthday dinner look special. The youngest two in the group were thrilled to find so many toys to play with and wer very well catered for - they even had their own little table and chairs to dine on. The house is clean, airy and bright and we would recommend it to everyone looking for a relaxing family break.
