About Christine Lagna

Four Friends who are in love with Tuscany decided to club together and buy a property and convert it, in traditional Tuscan style, into apartments so that others could enjoy staying in the heart of Tuscany.

Joe is an interior designer and has Italian parents and speaks fluent Italian,

Chris is an architect

Colin is a Project Manager and

Ed is an accountant

so between us we had the skills required, but in reality it was a passion for this part of Italy which inspired us to renovate Le Casine.

We hope you enjoy your stay with us.

Perfect for large groups

  • 4 of 5

Probably nearer to 4.5 really!

Stayed here for a week in Juky 2016 with my extended family. We rented all 6 apartments at reasonable cost (discount for taking all 6) and were in total a group of 17. It was great to have exclusive use of pool and terrace whilst at same time each couple / family had their own space and bathroom. Apartments were newly decorated, clean and comfortable with air conditioning. Great base to get to Florence, Siena and montepulciano etc but you definitely need a car (went to Florence by train but needs to drive to local station).

Garden space and pool area lovely and good to be able to sit out in evenings. You can walk to small village of shops and easy drive to Cortona for restaurants etc.

Christine was very helpful before and during our stay - when the air con went wrong in one apartment she got the engineer round in an Hour. She also let us rent Sunday to Sunday to fit in with travel plans.

The only things stopping this being a 5 were minor - 1) could have had more umbrellas and chairs round pool and outside - ok for us but would have been more difficult if sharing with other families. 2) Air con problem in one apartment (engineer attended within an hour but could not immediately fully resolve).

Overall would definitely recommend

Owner's Response: Thankyou for your very kind review. We are pleased that you were able to enjoy yourselves with your extended family. The villa I agree seems to suit not only small groups but works extremely well for our larger groups especially family and wedding groups, giving everyone the individual space they need in the apartments and yet the ability to eat together in the garden and enjoy the grounds and pool together. We are glad you found our flexible booking worked for you. We have found that as we have quite a few apartments we are able to be flexible with guests arrival and departure dates. This is something which really does work. The location as you have said gives our guests a perfect base from which to explore the beautiful Tuscan towns and countryside. We have taken on board your point regarding the number of umbrellas and lounge chairs and will be adding to our numbers. In addition we have decided to install a covered pergola area. We hope to be able to welcome you back to our villa very soon. Christine

Further Details:

Apart from the wealth of Museums, churches and palaces, there are plenty of opportunities for those who want to go trekking, cycling, horse riding or simply walking to enjoy this beautiful landscape. There is a nearby Tennis club and close to us we have several Golf Clubs. One of the main features of walled Cortona are its winding and enchanting streets and cobbled lanes and the views of Val di Chiana and even Lake Trasimeno which is one of the locations where scenes for Under the Tuscan Sun were shot. Cortona offers open-air operas in the Summer, classical concerts in churches and in the local theatre , jazz-festivals , wine and food tasting , medieval plays and lots of pizzerias and restaurants with terraces offer Tuscan specialities. Like other medieval towns in Tuscany , roads tend to be steep and some are closed to traffic, so walking is the best way to discover the hidden gems of Cortona. For young people keen on mountain bikes, the area is ideal. Montepulciano and Chianit, both famous for their wines and cheeses are only one to two hours away on lovely country-roads. A wide choice of Tuscan cuisine specialities are offered by the local restaurants and tavernas and can also be savoured during the various country celebrations in the nearby villages. Dishes are prepared with extra virgin olive oil grown and produced locally. Many of the wines are produced on the local farms. For more information on Cortona have a look at the Cortona Tourist Board's web site.
