Our traditional Andalucian house is set in the heart of the village of Benahavis, with its pristine streets that wind their way steeply through the stunning heart of town and an emerald encasing of densely-wooded mountains. This quaint and picturesque pueblo is considered the gastronomic capital of the Costa del Sol, boasting a brilliant portfolio of restaurants – from authentic pizzerias to classy haute cuisine establishments, robust grill houses and the ubiquitous tapas tavernas. Just 7kms from the coast, beach lovers can be topping up their tan on the sweeping beaches of Estepona or you may wish to join the jet set in the exclusive Puerto Banus marina or go shopping in Marbella! Golfers amongst you will love the many first class golf courses in the local area, whilst walkers will enjoy lovely walks through the hills and mountains all with splendid views. Or you could simply while away the hours in the sanctuary of our large upper sunbathing terrace or take a dip in the village pool.

About Jenny Coles
My name is Jenny Coles and I live near Chelmsford. We enjoy touring the UK, seeking out places to indulge our hobby of fine dining. Recently we purchased two holiday cottages in Southrepps (North Norfolk) and hope in the future to spend our time between Norfolk and Benahavis.
Jenny Coles purchased this House in 2012
Why Jenny Coles chose Benahavís
We have spent many happy holidays in Spain and always dreamed of finding a place to call our own. With that in mind we visited many of the Costa's and although we always enjoyed our holidays no one particular place really caught our attention. Then by chance whist planning a forthcoming holiday I googled fine dining in Spain and came upon a village in the hills above Marbella (an area we knew) that described itself as the "dining room of the Costa del Sol", and as self confessed foodies we booked our weeks holiday in a local apartment. The village reviews sounded too good to be true, but no, Benahavis really did have it all as far as we were concerned. So we returned for a couple more visits (staying in various parts of the village) until we found Casa Mirador and now we call it home...
What makes this House unique
The mix of Spanish village life and friendly locals from all over Europe. As a working Spanish village the restaurants stay open all year round, so you can enjoy its delights even in the winter when many of the other tourist hot spots are deserted.

Perfectly located home
We stayed at Casa Mirador 29/09/18 until 14/10/18 last year. I really wanted to write a review for anyone thinking of booking their 2019 holiday as you really won’t get a better located property or a more helpful owner. I can’t recommend it enough, we had a fantastic stay.
My husband and I were looking for an apartment/townhouse to use as a base to explore the area in and around Benahavis. Casa Mirador was just perfect.
We have friends that stay on La Quinta Golf Course and they recommended as we were booking slightly out of season to consider staying in the village of Benahavis. I am so glad we took their advice. The house is literally steps away from the most mouthwatering restaurants and cosy bars which spill out onto the cobbled streets every direction you look.
The house itself not only has a great location, but much larger than the photographs predict. It is very clean and has everything you could possibly need. The views over to the mountains from the lounge, both bedrooms and roof terrace are stunning. Although the house is traditional and located in the heart of the village it has a welcoming modern interior. The owner Jenny was so helpful when we had any questions, nothing was ever too much trouble. You can get basic groceries on the street up from the house but we opted to drive to the Mercadona which is located on the road coming out of Benahavis approx 4km drive away. Great selection of breakfast essentials and you can squeeze your own orange juice for the morning.
We enjoyed the flexibility of staying in the village but still being so close to the beach (San Pedro is 10 minutes drive away) or shopping in Puerto Banus with lunch overlooking the beautiful marina. Coming back to Benahavis village in the evening, parking up the car and going out later for dinner with no worries of having to get a taxi was a huge bonus. After only a few nights we were beginning to feel like locals.
You genuinely will not be disappointed if you book Casa Mirador, we loved it 💓
Gary & Laura
Wow Laura, what a glowing review of two hidden gems our home Casa Mirador and the village of Benahavis, thank you.
My in-laws managed a week shopping just in the village as they didn’t have a car but I admit we drive to the Mercadona or Carrefour for our shopping. Though little or no cooking is ever done with so many good restaurants on our doorstep...but I do know where the oven instructions are if anyone needs them 😉
We’re looking forward to enjoying it more ourselves over the coming years with semi retirement on the horizon. But if Benahavis has won your heart you would both be welcome ‘home’ for another holiday.
Lovely home in great setting.
Really enjoyed our time at Casa Mirador , a real holiday home with all facilities you would wish for.
Only small negative was during our stay [ August 12 -22 ] the annual festival was on which was great till late on but loud music till 6am was a bit much.
Also the local pool is a 10 minute walk away and costs 5 euro per person per day , so an extra expense if you have a family which enjoys days by the pool.
However , over all a great time was had and Jenny / owner was very helpful and we would recommend Casa Mirador to anyone thinking of heading to Benahavis.
Thank you taking the time to share your positive experience of our holiday home in the beautiful Spanish Pueblo of Benahavis.
You’re right, the Spanish know how to party the night away when it comes to their annual fesitival.
Yes we’re lucky to have such a delightful village pool so close, with sunbeds and a restaurant to enjoy. We have also enjoyed the pool at Benahavis Hills with its panoramic views.
Lovely Week in Casa Mirador
We loved the house and it's location right in the village. Everything you need is there. The beds, bathrooms and facilities are all of a high standard. We went to the lovely municipal pool several times and also did the rock jumping just down the road. A car is definitely needed unless you like a serious work out every day. Thanks Jenny for keeping in touch and for all the excellent directions and information.
Thank you for reviewing Casa Mirador. Lovely to hear that you had such a good holiday and found my information useful. I have always found it helpful to receive information about my holiday so I don’t have to spend all my time in the sun planning.
We look forward to welcoming you back to our home.
Home from home bathed in Spanish sunshine for total relaxation with everything a fingertip away.
Wonderful home, fabulously situated near to the many superb restaurants in the village. Jenny’s information and communication is excellent and she looks after guests extremely well. The house has everything guests need for a relaxing holiday but is ideally situated for exploring the area should you choose to leave your sunbed! The local shop sells everything you need for breakfast and light lunches but there’s no need to worry about cooking when there are so many gorgeous restaurants on hand. Anyone visiting Casa Mirador will surely want to return.
Thank you for leaving a review of our home in Benahavis. So pleased that you loved it’s quiet but central position, allowing you to wander each evening to choose from the many restaurants the village is renowned for.
We have made many improvements over the years so that guests can treat it as home just as we do.
We look forward to welcoming you back on your next visit.
The house is perfectly positioned in the village to be able to stroll to all the restaurants and bars (of which there are many) but it is very quiet.
The house had everything you could possibly need whilst on holiday...sunny terrace, wifi, a cupboard full of food, comfy bed and a shower better than mine at home.
Really nice house in a lovely location. Great communication with the owner Jenny who made sure everything was perfect for us.
Thank you Helen for taking the time to write a review and for looking after our home so well. We have tried to add those extra touches so I’m glad that the house met with your expectations for a perfect holiday.
Just 7Km from the Mediterranean coast and miles of sweeping beaches, approx 10 minutes by car. Here you'll find an abundance of Chirungitos - beach cafés that are great places for a drink and tapas. For an upmarket sunbathing experience try a day at Languna Village, on the road to Estepona. Marbella and Puerto Banus, 15 minutes by car are the places to be for great shopping, the harbour, upmarket restaurants and the famous night-life!
Malaga Airport is just 45 minutes by car, with the choice of the fast toll road (approx €5) or the scenic coastal road. Taxis are available at the airport for private transfers. If you are here just to chill and take life easy then it is possible to manage a stay in Benahavis without a car due to the amenities within the village and the reliable taxi service for any trips out. For ease and to explore other places of interest in the area I would recommend hiring a car for the whole of your stay.
Every day essentials are available in the village but 5 minute drive away is a large UK style supermarket (Mercadona) that stocks everything you may possibly need during your stay and accepts credit cards (shopping bags are kept in the house if you’re planning to stock up!).
Benahavis is ideally located for all the amenities the Costa has to offer.
Visit fashionable Marbella and have lunch in beautiful Orange Square.
Call in at Selwo animal park or book a local jeep safari.
Take a guided tour around Gibraltar with its world famous Barbary apes or bag a few bargains all duty free.
If you prefer a more up beat night life and celebrity spotting venture into Puerto Banus and walk around the yacht filled harbour and trendy boutiques.
For those in search of culture take a day trip and visit the architecturally stunning cities of Granada, home of the Alhambra palace and Seville. See Jerez and visit the sherry bodegas or enjoy the charms of the old town of Ronda with the oldest bullring in Spain.
