Villa with sea and mountain views on a hilltop near Moncarapacho, East Algarve, Portugal - Amid Orange Tree Plantations, 5 Minutes From The Village, 20 Minutes From Tavira And Olhao

Portuguese estate style property near the picturesque village of Moncarapacho and 20 minutes from the beaches of Fuzeta and the islands. The newly built main house (‘fazenda’) immediately invites you in by way of authentic and antique imported Bali double doors leading to the double height entrance hall. This is the heart of the property, hence the large round family table with chairs and antique teak wood benches, seated in the 8 meters high hallway leading to the open plan kitchen with modern steam oven, induction cooking, red and black granite dresser and hand painted tiles and an open fire place. Large wooden French doors open up to a pergola covered terrace with tables (wrought iron and glass) and chairs for 8-10 persons. The large stairway in the hall takes you up to a vide with library, underneath the wood feature ceiling with indirect lighting and from there via the landing to the cosy living room with seating around an open fire.

Why Christian chose Moncarapacho

Luxury and comfort for up to 11 persons.

We built a house in the Algarve Portugal. We designed it ourselves as a classic Portuguese 'Fazenda", the main house like an estate. Connected is the 'Quinta', the farmhouse where the atelier is and 2 guest rooms and bathroom and pantry. Next to this Quinta you'll find the 'Capela', like an old little cloister with a studio apartment and ensuite bathroom. On the side of the pool we have a large 5th bedroom for 3 ps, less luxury but a lot of room and ensuite bathroom.

What makes this chateau / country house unique

We have a wonderful garden, lots of land with an almond trees and other fruit trees and of course a large swimming pool surrounded by terraces. The property is built on top of a hill, with 360 degrees views towards the ocean in the south and the mountains in the north.

Underfloor cooling throughout.

Notes on accommodation: All guestrooms are pretty large and nicely decorated with very(!) good beds and mattresses. Guests are free to use the large atelier for playing games, drawing and painting. Outside: About 8000 m2 of land, with cultivated gardens, lots of flowering and fruit. Overflow pool with safe entrance for children, coming from the terrace. Separated pool with about 30 cm of water, ideal for small children. The water from this pool is quickly heated by the sun, then pumped underneath all terraces for increased temperature and floating back in the large (overflow)pool. Utility Room: Washing and drying machines. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Maid service once a week included. Towels, linen etc. included. Outside cleaning, gardening, pool maintenance etc. every week.. Other: Central hall height 8 mtrs, with large round table sitting 10 ps. Vide with library (books and CD's) and music eq. Underfloor cooling throughout.

Excellent holiday in a beautiful home

We were two couples staying at this amazing house for a week (not long enough). The house was beautiful, with lovely features and amazing gardens - we hardly wanted to move away from the house and pool all week. The house was spotlessly clean and had all the amenities that you could possibly need. The house was furnished elegantly and attention to detail was everywhere. The location was perfect for us, peaceful and private yet only a short drive to some very good restaurants and traditional bars. We would definitely consider returning and will be recommending this property to family and friends.

Fabulous place

This place is amazing, too much to tell but my advice would be book it if you get the chance. Gorgeous villa full of beautiful objects, artwork... The pool is stunning... Too much to mention... We had the most amazing time here. A heavenly oasis, but not too far from civilisation if you can bare to venture away from this most gorgeous retreat!

We never stayed in a more beautiful house. Very personal, very special, very comfortable. Absolutely top quality.
