Traditional character cottage with original features. Situated in the Peak District Village of Hathersage in Hope Valley Derbyshire.
I live in Hathersage with my husband and three teenage boys. I grew up in this lovely village but moved away and returned with my family 9 years ago.
Julie Bone purchased this cottage in 2012
I love this area hence the reason for my return. It is a very friendly and welcoming village surrounded by the beautiful landscape of the Peak District. Hathersage is in the heart of this beautiful countryside but so close to the surrounding villages and a short easy journey will get you into Sheffield
Maple Cottage is a traditional cottage so close to all the amenities that Hathersage has to offer. It is surrounded by so many walks that suit all types of abilities along with some stunning views of area like Stanage Edge
This is a delightful village, very friendly and with a lot of handy eateries. We stayed as we had family issues to sort out which slightly took the edge off the a 'holiday' weekend. The cottage is small but it just made such a lovely change to stay in a home environment that was warm, comfortable and had all the basics you require.
i gave 4 rather than 5 stars, simply because this time we were mainly 'heads down and out' rather than in a position to enjoy all the cottage and village facilities but we aim to rectify that next time.
