About Julie Bone

I live in Hathersage with my husband and three teenage boys. I grew up in this lovely village but moved away and returned with my family 9 years ago.

Julie Bone purchased this cottage in 2012

Why Julie Bone chose Hathersage

I love this area hence the reason for my return. It is a very friendly and welcoming village surrounded by the beautiful landscape of the Peak District. Hathersage is in the heart of this beautiful countryside but so close to the surrounding villages and a short easy journey will get you into Sheffield

What makes this cottage unique

Maple Cottage is a traditional cottage so close to all the amenities that Hathersage has to offer. It is surrounded by so many walks that suit all types of abilities along with some stunning views of area like Stanage Edge

Brilliant location and lovely place to stay. Owner, Julie, was very friendly and also owns the local cafe, which was an unexpected bonus. The village was perfect base for all the best walks and attractions in the peak district.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful place

  • 4 of 5

Stayed in Maple Cottage for a long weekend, the cottage is comfortable and clean. Julie the owner was very helpful and friendly, and we definitely recommend breakfast as her cafe Cintra's! Great base for exploring the Peaks.

A Little Gem

  • 5 of 5

Maple Cottage is in a great central location near to shops, walks and Cintra's Tearoom. The accommodation was great for us - clean, well appointed and cosy. We walked to the station and caught the train to Sheffield and then on to Wakefield for the Hepworth gallery ( wonderful) and walked in the beautiful Hope valley. The owner, Julie, was welcoming and friendly.

Cosy and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

Maple cottage may be small but it's lovely - cosy and comfortable and has everything you need for your stay. Hathersage is a good location for the beautiful Dark Peak and the village has shops pubs and places to eat and drink - all only 2 minutes from the cottage. Thank you Julie we've had a lovely stay.

Small but perfectly formed

  • 4 of 5

This is a delightful village, very friendly and with a lot of handy eateries. We stayed as we had family issues to sort out which slightly took the edge off the a 'holiday' weekend. The cottage is small but it just made such a lovely change to stay in a home environment that was warm, comfortable and had all the basics you require.

i gave 4 rather than 5 stars, simply because this time we were mainly 'heads down and out' rather than in a position to enjoy all the cottage and village facilities but we aim to rectify that next time.
