Four Friends who are in love with Tuscany decided to club together and buy a property and convert it, in traditional Tuscan style, into apartments so that others could enjoy staying in the heart of Tuscany.
Joe is an interior designer and has Italian parents and speaks fluent Italian,
Chris is an architect
Colin is a Project Manager and
Ed is an accountant
so between us we had the skills required, but in reality it was a passion for this part of Italy which inspired us to renovate Le Casine.
We hope you enjoy your stay with us.
Christine Lagna purchased this apartment in 2009

Being in the heart of Tuscany, Le Casine is about 150Km. to sea beaches on either the Mediterranean coast (beaches from Piombino to Punta Hidalgo) or Adriatic coast (beaches from Rimini to Ancona), but it is only 15Km. to beaches on Lake Trasimeno. The lake is clean and safe for swimming, safe for children and very warm during the summer months due to its shallow depth. It has well tended beaches and variety of watersports including sailing, windsurfing and diving.
Airports at Perugia (60Km.), Florence (110Km.) and Pisa (200Km.) are the nearest airports but Rome is not too far away (240Km.) and you can hire a car at a special rate through some airlines.

Apart from the wealth of Museums, churches and palaces, there are plenty of opportunities for those who want to go trekking, cycling, horse riding or simply walking to enjoy this beautiful landscape. There is a nearby Tennis club and close to us we have several Golf Clubs. One of the main features of walled Cortona are its winding and enchanting streets and cobbled lanes and the views of Val di Chiana and even Lake Trasimeno which is one of the locations where scenes for Under the Tuscan Sun were shot.
Cortona offers open-air operas in the Summer, classical concerts in churches and in the local theatre , jazz-festivals , wine and food tasting , medieval plays and lots of pizzerias and restaurants with terraces offer Tuscan specialities.
Like other medieval towns in Tuscany , roads tend to be steep and some are closed to traffic, so walking is the best way to discover the hidden gems of Cortona.
For young people keen on mountain bikes, the area is ideal. Montepulciano and Chianit, both famous for their wines and cheeses are only one to two hours away on lovely country-roads.
A wide choice of Tuscan cuisine specialities are offered by the local restaurants and tavernas and can also be savoured during the various country celebrations in the nearby villages. Dishes are prepared with extra virgin olive oil grown and produced locally. Many of the wines are produced on the local farms.
For more information on Cortona have a look at the Cortona Tourist Board's web site.
