Riverside Lodge has 1 double bedroom and 1 twin bedroom.
A separate dining area and a fully equipped kitchen make for easy self catering accommodation.
Riverside Lodge and Puddleduck Lodge are very popular Lake District holiday Lodges on the banks of the Troutbeck river. Each Lodge has 2 bedrooms, one double bed and one twin. The Lodges can be rented together or individually. The Troutbeck valley is a beautiful secluded valley in the heart of the Lake District. The valley is very peaceful but only a few miles from the hustle and bustle of Windermere Bowness and Ambleside with their shops, restaurants, bars and other attractions. Limefitt Park is a 5 star, award winning park with a host of facilities. These include a river pool, Lakeland pub, adventure playground, football pitch, shop open until late every day and laundrette. And it’s all set in stunning scenery. Riverside Lodge and Puddleduck Lodge offer wonderful holiday accommodation for families and couples alike. The standard of the Lodges is very high with a lovely log cabin pine interior. The Lodge is fully equipped with everything needed for a Lake District holiday.
We are Robert and Kathy Hodgson and we pretty much grew up in the Lake District. We have been going back every year and eventually bought the Lodges for somewhere to rent out and to stay ourselves. Our 2 children love the Lakes and the Lodges too.
We have been letting the Lodges for about 5 years and they have proved very popular with our guests. We hope you like them too.
Numerous guests have enjoyed the Lodges and have left lovely comments. Testimonials can be found at Tripadvisor and at the guestbook section of our website.

An ideal weekend. Great cabin with everything you could possibly need. Morning coffees on the balcony will be greatly missed.

Don't want to go home!
Donna and David, Boldon. May 2010
We have had a lovely visit to the Lakes and Riverside Lodge once again. Lots of walking and laughing – good times.
Alan, Fran and family, Wiltshire, March 2011
When we first arrived we read the comments in the guestbook and, as nice as they are ,they don’t do the lodge justice. This has been the trip of a lifetime , Puddleduck Lodge is beautiful, cosy and quiet.

Special interest holidays:
Lots of great walks start straight from the door of the Lodge with no need to use the car.
The Troutbeck valley has lovely walks that meander around with the river. The hills of Applethwaite, Ill Bell, Froswick, Wansfell Pike and High Street are easily accessible from the valley. Maps and walking books are available in the Lodges.
Elsewhere in the Lake District there are thousands of other walks and the central position of the Lodges means that they are a short car journey away.
The Lakes is a major holiday destination and has activities for all. It is easy to catch a lake steamer, or hire a canoe/boat of your own. Mountain bikes are available to hire and there are many miles of trails to be explored, many off-road.
There are steam railways at Haverthwaite and Ravenglass and a ride on the train can be combined with a walk or a boat trip. The aquarium is nearby and there are museums and country houses to explore.
Great pubs and restaurants can be found all over the area.
There are beaches on all the lakes. The nearest is the 10 minutes away at Rayrigg park on Windermere. Beaches tend to be shallow and stony.
Swimming, sailing and canoeing on the lakes is very popular. There are also motor boats for hire and water skiing in some places. Four of the lakes have ferries and other pleasure craft.
The sea can be reached at Morcambe Bay, around 30 minutes drive from the Lodges. There is good fishing in the bay.
The Lodges are easily accessible from the M6 motorway and the drive takes around 20 minutes.
Windermere railway station is only 2 miles away with regular connections to the main west coast line at Oxenholme (Kendal). Taxis and buses are available at Windermere which serve the Troutbeck valley. It is possible to holiday at the Lodges without a car.
The Lodges are a 1-2 hour drive from Manchester or Liverpool airports where there are car hire facilities.
Troutbeck village is walkable with the 2 pubs a 15 minute away. There is a post office and store in the village.
There is another pub at Limefitt park itself. There is also a small shop selling all the necessities.
The nearest supermarkets are in Windermere, a 10 minute drive away. More shopping can be found at Windermere and Ambleside both of which have independent shops and many high street chains.
Windermere and Ambleside are only 2-3 miles away, or 10 minutes by car.
