About the property

4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms with lovely garden in peaceful surroundings.

Tresita is a very comfortable seaside home providing the ideal place for a family holiday. It is equally attractive to those wanting to spend time on the golf course or walking along the wonderful coastal paths. It's therefore ideal for all generations! With plenty of space inside for those occasional rainy days, there's room outside for playing cricket, ping pong, boules etc - or just relaxing on the sunbeds! It is wonderfully peaceful, being in a private road, but has the advantage of being within walking distance of the golf club and beaches. The accommodation consists of 4 double bedrooms, a very large kitchen/dining area looking out onto the garden and a large sitting room, not forgetting the good sized porch ideal for storing shoes/beach gear etc and a large hall. (Golf clubs can be stored in the bespoke storage unit in the garage.) Two of the double bedrooms have zip and link beds allowing double or twin beds to be made up. A third bedroom has twin beds and the fourth bedroom has a single bed and bunk beds - so it caters for a maximum of 9 guests (assuming that a couple of them are children). The bungalow is well planned with the bedrooms being set apart from the living area so sleeping children will not be disturbed. The kitchen is superbly equipped and with views onto the fields beyond, it's almost a pleasure to have to cook on holiday! There is a separate utility room off the kitchen housing a freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer plus airing cupboard so there is never any problem in drying those rain/sea soaked clothes. The garden is a good size, on two levels. The terrace outside the kitchen has a table and chairs (plus sun umbrella if required) and during the summer, there's a ping pong table for the use of guests. The garden shed (and the hall cupboards) contains a variety of games and outside sporting equipment, as well as a barbecue. From what our guests have written in our Visitors' Book, Tresita meets everyone's requirements!

I live in London with my husband, two children and working cocker spaniel. We all love spending time at Tresita and escape there as often as possible (but not enough!). The dog likes the house but would prefer to spend all his time swimming in the rock pools at Boobys Bay!

Why Sarah Strahan chose Saint Merryn

Having spent many years having holidays on the north coast of Cornwall, we decided to buy a property in Constantine Bay close to the wonderful golf club at Trevose and near the superb surfing beaches. It's so easy to walk to the golf club or beaches - or just jump in the car to visit the many local attractions - excerllent shops and restaurants in nearby Padstow, magnificent houses (Lanhydrock, Prideaux Place, Trerice etc), glorious coastal walks, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, the Eden Project - and further afield the Minack Theatre, Tate St Ives, Tintagel Castle ... And the peaceful south coast is just an hour away where there are beautiful tranquil walks along the inlets and over the fields.

What makes this bungalow unique

Tresita is a very easy to run, comfortable family home which we want others to treat as their home (not just a rental property!). There is definitely a "wow factor" when friends come into the extended kitchen for the first time - they're amazed by the spacious, light area. The four good sized bedrooms work well with an exceptionally generous amount of living space. Outside you can relax in the quiet, private (enclosed) garden or get competitive with table tennis, badminton, cricket, boules etc. There's a large table plus chairs (and benches) plus a barbecue - all you need for those al fresco meals!

Tresita is ideally situated for visiting Padstow and surrounding countryside and sandy bays.

The accommodation is very well presented with a very large kitchen diner and comfortable bedrooms,lounge and garden area.The decor has been carefully chosen by the owner and complimented with artworks featuring Cornish landscapes.The bungalow is very well equipped and we had everything provided in the kitchen and utility area to make our two week stay problem free.The outdoor games equipment (and children's amusements) were comprehensive and we enjoyed using them in the garden area which has a large patio with garden Furnature.

The overall cleanliness was excellent and bed linen was of good quality with a change provided for week 2.

Another great holiday at Tresita!

This is a wonderful property with all the accommodation on one level. It is very clean and well maintained and equipped with everything you may need. The garden is fantastic and so pet friendly, it gets the sun all day and well into the evening. The whole of Tresita is comfortable and spacious and we just love the fantastic kitchen/dining area which opens out into the garden. This area of Cornwall is within easy reach of so many beautiful beaches and we would thoroughly recommend it. We can hardly wait to return!

Such a comfortable holiday home!

Another great week at Tresita - beginning to feel like home from home! Lucky enough to have some lovely weather so enjoyed the garden as well as the house. We liked the new furniture which had been installed since our last visit. Looking forward to the next stay there!

Coast/Beach:

There's a huge choice of wonderful beaches for surfing and swimming within easy reach - a 15 minute walk to Constantine Bay, 20 minutes to Boobys Bay and a little further to Treyarnon, Trevone or Harlyn Bay (all of which also have car parks). Easy to go straight from the house for fantastic coastal path walks.

Travel:

Although there is much within walking distance, a car would give a greater degree of flexibility. Bodmin Parkway railway station (which has a bus link to Constantine Bay) is 40 minutes' drive away whilst Newquay Airport is just 17 minutes' drive away. Reasonable bus service to Padstow, Wadebridge, Bodmin and Newquay.

Distances:

Constantine Bay Stores which stocks virtually all your requirements (and is open from early until late in the summer) is 10 minutes' walk from Tresita. St Merryn - 1 mile - has a petrol station, hardware store, post office, bakery, pub, fish & chip shop and various restaurants. Padstow 4 miles. Wadebridge 8 miles. Bodmin 18 miles. Newquay 11 miles. Eden Project 15 miles. The Lost Gardens of Heligan 18 miles.

Further Details:

Banks, post office, numerous Rick Stein enterprises - restaurants/cafe/delicatessen/fish & chip shop/cookery school - plus good range of shops, picture galleries can all be found in nearby Padstow.

Surf lessons can be booked at Constantine Bay Surf Shop which also rents out wetsuits etc.

Trevose Golf & Country Club has 3 all-weather tennis courts, as well as a swimming pool and playground. It also has a good restaurant and excellent selection of bar food.

Bicycling - Hire bikes in Padstow for an easy ride along by the Camel Estuary to Wadebridge and then on to Bodmin. Horse riding - Stables near St Merryn. Fishing - Mackerel fishing trips from Padstow. Cooking - Rick Stein's Cookery School in Padstow. Eating - Great range of local restaurants and pubs including Rick Stein's "Cornish Arms" on the road from St Merryn to Padstow, and Jamie Oliver's "Fifteen" at Watergate Bay.

Sightseeing - Lost Gardens of Heligan, The Eden Project, Trerice, Lanhydrock, Bedruthan Steps, Minnack Theatre - the list is endless!

A 25% deposit is required at the time of booking with the balance to be paid 8 weeks before arrival.

Changeover Day:
Our rental week runs from Saturday (4pm) to Saturday (10am). Sometimes we can be flexible about this so it's worth enquiring.

Prices are for the property per week in UK pounds.

If less than 7 days is required, the rate will be quoted by the owner and will not necessarily be per diem.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date.
  • 100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
