|Minimum Stay||3 - 7 nights|
Please note, Bluebell Cottage has 2 bedrooms, not 5. The 3 properties together have 5 bedrooms in total.
As you walk into Bluebell Cottage, you enter the spacious kitchen/diner. The kitchen is well equipped with an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. The dining area can accommodate up to 8 people. A few steps take you up to the beautiful living area with views over the Cordwell Valley. The room features a flat screen television, DVD player and iPod docking station. Downstairs is the spacious master bedroom with a king-size bed and an en-suite shower room. The second bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and can be made up as a double or twin room. Both of the bedrooms also have their own televisions.
Converted in 2012, Cordwell Cottages are set on a working farm on the edge of the Peak District. Cordwell Farm is in the hamlet of Cordwell, only a five minute walk from the friendly local pub and is well located for visiting the Peak District. The cottages have been converted from the old cowshed to an excellent standard, providing luxury accommodation while retaining the original features of the building. Each cottage has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and sleeps 4 people so are perfect for families or couples. The 2 cottages can be booked together to sleep 8 and Bluebell Cottage has a dining area that can accommodate all 8 people.
Cordwell Cottages form part of Cordwell Farm which has been farmed by the Biggin family since 1698. William and Janet live in the Farmhouse and William is always around on the farm, happy to show children (or adults) the animals or his vintage tractors! As it is a family business, the bookings are managed by Willliam and Janet's son and daughter in law who will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
The Biggin family would love to welcome you to Cordwell Farm.
"Both cottages were perfect and well equipped for a perfect family get together with plenty to space to relax and eat. The farm was great for the kids and they loved feeding the horses. We would definitely recommend the cottages to friends and would certainly be making a return visit"
"The beautiful surroundings both in the cottage and countryside. Being close to both amenities and the dramatic scenery of the Peak District with its excellent pubs! The working farm environment, your genuine hospitality and attention to detail in the cottage means we would highly recommend this holiday to family and friends and hope to return ourselves."
"We booked both cottages over the new year period and our party of eight were made to feel very welcome by William and the family. We would definitely look at going back in the future. All of the bedrooms had fantastic en-suites but the communal living and kitchen areas were the real jewels in the crown!"
We had an absolutely wonderful stay in Bluebell and Snowbell cottages. The accommodation is very clean and comfortable, with ensuites in every room (which was much appreciated by the pregnant ladies in our party!) We were a 20 minute drive from Sheffield so could enjoy all the sights and sounds of the city before returning to our little haven in the countryside. The owner was very helpful and friendly and even left flowers and cake in the cottages! We only wish we could have stayed for longer to explore more of the area - we'll certainly be back.
Beautiful, well equipped cottages we used all 3 cottages and it was very comfortable with 10 people.
The kids loved exploring the farm, and William was very patient and willing to show them everything and take them on tractor rides...
We had a fabulous 2 week summer holidays!!!
We are a family of 4, with two little boys aged 2yrs and 4 yrs and this was just perfect for them. Plenty of space for them to play and a lovely little garden. The owners were so friendly and helpful and took time out to show the boys the tractors and animals. The location is perfect for exploring the Peak District and we managed to see an awful lot in one week! The cottage itself is beautifully equipped and furnished to a high standard with a great welcome basket (with wine!!) which was much appreciated after a long journey there. The kids, and us, had a fabulous time and will definitely be back...next time with the family (babysitters!) who could occupy the adjacent cottages. Thank you so much! It was the perfect cottage holiday!
We has a wonderful few days over the New Year, using both Cottages. All bedrooms extremely comfortable, lovely furniture, very clean and with their own en suite, which is most unusual.
The lounge in Bluebell Cottage is lovely with its own log burning stove, which was in use most of the time. Kitchen and dining area great, and so well equipped, eight of us eating in Bluebell, plenty of room, no problems at all.
Snowdrop Cottage, just a little smaller than Bluebell, but equally as good, because we were a party of eight, most of our time was spent together in Bluebell.
It was cold and wet outside the cottages, we were cosy and warm inside.
The cottages are situated within the farmyard area, plenty of room to park cars, and paved, all around, with patio areas to both cottages.
William, the farmer, welcomed us on arrival, and was around in case anything was needed.
We couldn't have been more pleased with our accommodation, it was great, and would highly recommend.
The cottages are in an ideal situation, for sightseeing in and around Derbyshire.
Very lovely clean and well equipped cottages in a beautiful setting. The owners couldn't have been more helpful. Will definitely visit again and would highly recommend a stay.
A wonderful stay in beautiful settings, I can't recommend enough. The cottages are renovated to a very high standard and house all the mod cons you could ever require.
William the farmer is the nicest man you could ever meet, he showed us around his animals and farm which the children loved. The children went up most days to say hello to the cows and turkeys. My dad loved the vintage tractors and William was happy to tell us all about them.
It was areal home from home in a beautiful part of the world with plenty to do for all. The neighboring villages and towns have plenty to see and do, we especially enjoyed segways at go ape, the cable cars and caverns.
We would highly recommend to all. Plus the bottle of wine, flowers and pie on arrival was an unexpected, generous and very thoughtful touch.
Many Thanks for a fabulous holiday
