Converted in 2012, Cordwell Cottages are set on a working farm on the edge of the Peak District. Cordwell Farm is in the hamlet of Cordwell, only a five minute walk from the friendly local pub and is well located for visiting the Peak District. The cottages have been converted from the old cowshed to an excellent standard, providing luxury accommodation while retaining the original features of the building. Each cottage has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and sleeps 4 people so are perfect for families or couples. The 2 cottages can be booked together to sleep 8 and Bluebell Cottage has a dining area that can accommodate all 8 people.

About Rachel Biggin
Cordwell Cottages form part of Cordwell Farm which has been farmed by the Biggin family since 1698. William and Janet live in the Farmhouse and William is always around on the farm, happy to show children (or adults) the animals or his vintage tractors! As it is a family business, the bookings are managed by Willliam and Janet's son and daughter in law who will be happy to answer any questions you may have. The Biggin family would love to welcome you to Cordwell Farm.
Home from home
We were immediately welcomed with a bottle of wine and a bakewell pudding which was a lovely surprise. The setting was peaceful and the cottage felt very homely and close to nearby Bakewell and Chatsworth House.
Thank you so much for your review. We're so glad you enjoyed your stay at Cordwell Farm and hope to welcome you back sometime in the future.
Fantastic accommodation - beautifully maintained and with a lovely welcome pack 10/10 ! If you get a chance, have a chat with the farmer, William - a lovely and interesting man!
The local pub ( 10th June 2017) is for drinks only, but with a lovely cottage like this that's not a problem as you will want to spend time there!
Great location for the Peak district.
Lovely cottages in the heart of the Peak district
We had an absolutely wonderful stay in Bluebell and Snowbell cottages. The accommodation is very clean and comfortable, with ensuites in every room (which was much appreciated by the pregnant ladies in our party!) We were a 20 minute drive from Sheffield so could enjoy all the sights and sounds of the city before returning to our little haven in the countryside. The owner was very helpful and friendly and even left flowers and cake in the cottages! We only wish we could have stayed for longer to explore more of the area - we'll certainly be back.
We're so pleased that you had a good time and hope to see you again soon. There is certainly plenty to enjoy in the area both in Sheffield and in the Peak District.
Beautiful cottages and Friendly farmer
Beautiful, well equipped cottages we used all 3 cottages and it was very comfortable with 10 people.
The kids loved exploring the farm, and William was very patient and willing to show them everything and take them on tractor rides...
We had a fabulous 2 week summer holidays!!!
Best holiday cottage ever..
We are a family of 4, with two little boys aged 2yrs and 4 yrs and this was just perfect for them. Plenty of space for them to play and a lovely little garden. The owners were so friendly and helpful and took time out to show the boys the tractors and animals. The location is perfect for exploring the Peak District and we managed to see an awful lot in one week! The cottage itself is beautifully equipped and furnished to a high standard with a great welcome basket (with wine!!) which was much appreciated after a long journey there. The kids, and us, had a fabulous time and will definitely be back...next time with the family (babysitters!) who could occupy the adjacent cottages. Thank you so much! It was the perfect cottage holiday!
We're so glad you enjoyed your stay at Cordwell Farm and hope to welcome you back soon. Rachel
We has a wonderful few days over the New Year, using both Cottages. All bedrooms extremely comfortable, lovely furniture, very clean and with their own en suite, which is most unusual.
The lounge in Bluebell Cottage is lovely with its own log burning stove, which was in use most of the time. Kitchen and dining area great, and so well equipped, eight of us eating in Bluebell, plenty of room, no problems at all.
Snowdrop Cottage, just a little smaller than Bluebell, but equally as good, because we were a party of eight, most of our time was spent together in Bluebell.
It was cold and wet outside the cottages, we were cosy and warm inside.
The cottages are situated within the farmyard area, plenty of room to park cars, and paved, all around, with patio areas to both cottages.
William, the farmer, welcomed us on arrival, and was around in case anything was needed.
We couldn't have been more pleased with our accommodation, it was great, and would highly recommend.
The cottages are in an ideal situation, for sightseeing in and around Derbyshire.
