Barn in Waltham, Nr. Canterbury, Kent, England - The Granary Is Located In A Beautiful Valley Next To A Nature Reserve And Farmland

The Granary is a luxurious self catering holiday cottage for 4 in a haven of peace and tranquillity. Situated outside the village of Waltham near Canterbury, 17th. century Yockletts Farm is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty over looking Yockletts Bank nature reserve with its wonderful orchids, wildlife and footpaths. The farm itself is mainly laid to arable, once being hop gardens, with the remains of an old twin kiln coast of years gone by. We graze cattle on the gently sloping fields, with plenty of easily accessible footpaths all around so you can enjoy some of the most beautiful views in Kent. It is also a wonderful area to cycle or horse ride. Canterbury is 5 miles away, Ashford about 10 miles and the Channel Tunnel rail link is about 15 minutes drive. There are a number of excellent pubs within easy reach, all offering good food and beer. There is also a post office and general store with newsagent in Stelling Minnis village.

About Jo Izard

Mark and Jo Izard own and run an arable farm with a small herd of beef cattle. Located in an Area of Oustanding Natural Beauty near to the city of Canterbury in Kent. The Granary is located on the farm next to the farmhouse. The main working part of the farm is located 1/2 mile away. Jo has 18 years of running a hospitality facility in the City of London before giving it up to manage The Granary. We have been awarded in April 2015 5 stars for the last 7 years from Visit Britain, Quality in Tourism and for the third year running received a Gold Award as well.

Great accomodation

The Granary is a lovely, well-appointed barn conversion of the highest quality. It deserves the five star gold award as equipped with everything you need and really comfortable, warm and clean. A real find and in a beautiful area near bluebell woods with great walks. Jo is a very amenable and helpful host, providing us with a hamper of food on the first day.

Wonderful cottage

A beautifully appointed cottage, immaculately clean with everything you might want for a short break or a longer holiday. Jo's professional yet warm approach ensures her guests receive just the right amount of personal attention (and generous welcome hamper) without intrusion. Fantastic walks available from the front door, with historic Canterbury and a range of coastal towns all within an easy drive. We'll be back!

Coast/Beach:

There are a number of good beaches towards Hythe only 25mins drive away where there have been regular sightings of a dolphin! Excellent fresh fish is also available.

Travel:

Channel Tunnel rail link is only 15 min drive away. The Port of Dover is 25 mins drive. Gatwick airport is 1hour10min drive. Heathrow 1hr30min drive.

Distances:

Canterbury is a 15 min drive. The village of Stelling Minnis is a 5 min drive where there is a pub, grocers and post office.
