Luxurious and Superior appointed Ground Floor apartment, the former showhome for Polaris, sleeps 4/5 persons. It has outstanding frontline golf views Adj to the Ladies Tee immediately from it's 60m Terrace. With sweeping views across the lake and to the golf course and the mountains beyond. It is Adj to 2 large swimming pools each with their own poolside furniture - you do not need to bring your own, and with 2 separate toddler/child pools. These pools are all fenced for child security/safety. The apartment has been fitted out with no expense spared, including luxury fittings and furniture. Security enhanced with electronic shutters and alarm systems. It is located in the centre of the resort, just 3 mins from the driving range and 5 mins from the Clubhouse, hotel & spa, shops and bars. Further Restaurants and Bars are available nearby in the Boulevard beyond. The stunning beaches and restaurants of Los Alcazares are a short 15 min drive away, straight road - see the google map.

We are well travelled and have visited Spain and its islands on many occasions. Friends and colleagues gave us the opportunity to have many holidays in this region and we very much like the location and the secure resort and nearby beaches of the Mar Menor. Airport access at Murcia is also very easy and so accessible from the UK. The facilities are first class and when we holiday we like to escape to our home from home in Spain. We hope you like it and enjoy it as much as we do. After many years of consideration we liked it so much and wanted to spend more time there that we purchased our own property to fulfill this ambition. We hope you enjoy it too!

The property gives you the best of all worlds, whether sunbathing by the pool, a day at the beach, relaxing on the terrace, watching frontline golf or indeed playing yourself. From watching sports locally, football on TV, and an infinite number of bars and restaurants nearby, it has something for everyone!

An excellent property befitting its 5-star rating

This is a first class apartment with excellent facilities. The location overlooking the 15th tee and with views across the lake was wonderful, and the extensive terrace was in full sun from early afternoon until sunset.

The owners had thought of everything when fitting out the apartment - it really was a "home-from-home" in terms of fixtures and fittings. The covered part of the terrace had recently been enclosed with sliding/folding glass doors, which provided an additional large lounge/dining area beyond the main living area. This area contained a good-size dining table as well as patio-type sofas, and was a very pleasant place to relax in both during the day and in the evenings.

The apartment was extremely clean on arrival and was well maintained throughout.

The two bedrooms - one double (with ensuite bathroom containing a bath with shower over) and one twin - were not large but were certainly adequate, and contained plenty of storage space in wardrobes, chests of drawers, and bedside cabinets. The second bathroom contained a shower enclosure - but no bath.

A property manager - Claire - lived nearby and was extremely helpful and efficient the one time we had cause to contact her.

There were a number of small swimming pools, with adjacent children's' pools, located around the resort, with one being only 50m from the apartment, and there is also a large pool adjacent to the hotel. The grounds are extremely clean and well maintained throughout the resort.

A car is essential when staying at the Mar Menor Golf Resort. Although it is less than 30 minutes by car/taxi from Murcia - San Javier airport, and there are a few restaurants within walking distance just outside the main gates to the resort, a far greater selection of restaurants can be found in Los Alcazares, which is around 20 minutes away by car: the nearest beaches are also about 20 minutes away.

We would certainly recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a modern, well-equipped place to spend a relaxing holiday in, with the added benefit of a first-class, 18-hole golf course on hand, a pleasant poolside bar serving a good range of tasty food, and a Spar supermarket less than a 10-minute walk away.

Very good

A very clean and nice apartment, with a good location. Nice view over the golf course, short walk to hotel, resturants and shops. Nice interior and well eqipped. Many tv stations and wifi. I have had many stays at Mar Menor Golf Resort, and this was one of the better apartments I have rented. Also very good communication with the owners, they served me with all the information I needed before arrival, from a clear direction on how to find the right adress to practical info regarding the apartment.

Coast/Beach:

The fabulous award winning Beaches of the Mar Menor are just a 10 min drive away (straight road). This will take you to the Beach at Los Alcazares, and there are many others nearby. The Mar Menor beaches are renowned due to being lagoon like ("the worlds largest swimming pool") separated by the strip of land of La Manga from the Atlantic Ocean. This means that the water temperature is considerably warmer and it is very shallow, child friendly, minimal waves + disabled access/facilities.

Travel:

The region is well accessed by 2 main airports with a 3rd due to open shortly. Murcia/San Javier is just a 10-15 min drive and Alicante is a 50-60 min drive.

Distances:

The nearby town of Torre-Pacheco is 5 mins drive away. Los Alcazares and its beaches are 10 mins away.

Historic major towns of Cartegana are 20 mins away, La Manga and Murcia (with its impressive Cathedral) are just 30 mins away.

Further Details:

At the heart of the Mar Menor resort is the Intercontinental Hotel, the Golf Course and Clubhouse (Spikes Bar). This is served by a number of Al Fresco Bars/Dining and including a communal swimming pool at El Olivio's. Pino's Bar, includes nightly entertainment. The nearby Boulevard also serves further restaurants and bars, including Mombassa, Route 66 and unusual Italian/Indian restaurant if you cant decide what to eat or your family has a split choice! Many, many more nearby by car and taxi (some collect as a service by the restaurants). We will provide you with a good selection of examples at the apartment by way of an information booklet to get you started.

The Mar Menor resort also has a well stocked supermarket open 7-days. Larger alternatives are available nearby on route to Los Alcazares, and at Dos Mares etc (exit 777 from AP7 Motorway).

Notes on accommodation: The apartment is truely outstanding and given it was the former showhome for polaris world says this one stands out from the crowd. It is located on the 5* Mar Menor Golf Resort & Spa, which has at its centre the Intercontinental Hotel and clubhouse, shops, bars & restaurants. The resort is set behind its own gated community, with secure access and guarded patrols, which makes it a secure, safe and relaxed complex. The property is provided to a very high standard. The owners are a company director and a trained interior designer, and this is reflected in the colours, fabrics and furnishings of the property and to a very high standard of finish. Outside: Outside you have a private (not overlooked by other apts) large double terrace of 60m. It has an outstanding frontline golf aspect with direct views of 3 golf holes (15th Tee, 13th and 14th holes) the lake and mountains beyond. To the side of the terrace it looks back to large swimming pool and grassed area. The terrace now has curtain glazing installed Dec13 across it that can be pulled back open in summer and closed in winter. At the side of the terrace is the base of what is called the "elephants foot", which is a large storage area. This is glazed and shuttered to provide secure items for your use such as BBQ, outdoor cushions, parasols etc. We have 4 luxury folding sun beds, extending patio table and 6 padded chairs, outside seating and drinks table for your exclusive use. The 2nd bedroom also has a patio table and 2 chairs to the front private balcony which is a great place for some early morning sun and catching up on some quiet reading. Utility Room: Additional kitchen info is that it is fitted with a range of cupboards and worksurfaces. Each cupboard contains an assortment of pots/pans, plates, cutlery, glasses and various utensils/devices for you to use. In addition bosch kettle, toaster + microwave Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Property will be fully cleaned and prepared prior to your arrival. Bathroom towels and bed linen will be provided (but exclude beach towels). An additional €75 is payable locally for a cleaning/laundry service. We do expect you to keep the Apt clean/tidy Other: Aircon (Cold & Hot) to all rooms and with Ceiling Fans to both bedrooms to allow "quiet" sleeping.
