Notes on accommodation: For further details or questions please contact owner or view our website Outside: There are balconies on the top two floors of the chalet allowing access to outstanding views of the mountains and valley below. Access to the chalet front door is by a few rustic stairs built into the slope as well as through the garage and utility room. There is a some wooden decking outside of the property leading onto a small garden area where the decking is extended. There is room to sit and enjoy the sunshine and/or BBQ. In front of garage is tarmac area where there is further parking areas available Utility Room: The utility room on the ground floor contains a separate washing machine and dryer with stand alone rack, sink and cupboard. Plug in ski boot warmers available and racks to rest ski's on. Coat hooks on walls. This room leads into private garage Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All bed linen and towels are provided and are of high quality cotton. Cot linen is not provided. Chalet is cleaned and laundry done on weekly basis. Chalet should be left in tidy state at end of holiday. Other: There are two WC's, one on the top floor with basin and one on the ground floor. There is a large garage available for use with electric door operated by key fob or internal wall switch. Balconies surround the chalet providing outstanding views of area.

What a find! We had an amazing time - despite a 10 year old with a skiing accident. The Chalet (half a chalet really, but great and much better than a flat in a block) is really comfortably laid out and is appointed to the highest quality. It oozes welcome and comfort.

Lots of little touches: private boot room with washer and drier (less clothes bring!), terraces for when the sun shines, very private feel. Soft pillows and sheets. Private garage (no window scraping). Really comfortable. Just wonderful.

There are a couple of points to be aware of: It is at the top of the village so is a bit of a walk to the escalators then lift. Also, there are some low beams upstairs in bedrooms which will hit children's heads at some point. If you can cope with making these things work for you, as they did for us, then you will have a brilliant time.

Winter holiday

We had a super sunny skiing holiday at this lovely chalet. A fantastic view of the mountains! The chalet is situated at the top of the village. Phil the manager is very helpful.

Well appointed , clean, tastefully furnished, very cosy with a nice terrace to sit out on. Comfortable beds and good storage space.

Main bedroom is very nice with a balcony , but the two others have limited head room for adults. Plenty of room for ski's in the garage and boot warmers in the laundry room.

Near the super market and la Remise a very nice restaurant.

We can also recommend the nursery by the pool, they have fantastic facilities.

Vaujany is an interesting village, quite old and original in places; connected to the bigger resort of Alpe d'Huez.

We have been there lots of times and will certainly return.

We had a great time at the Chalet La FARE

The cottage was very clean and consistent with the description

Everything is perfect, the decor is beautiful and quality. The lounge is very comfortable and what a pleasure to meet the evening near the fireplace after a day of skiing.

For dining, there are all the necessary equipment to make good food . The rooms are very comfortable, a special mention***** for the quality beds The resort is very nice, and very practical with its escalators to go skiing. The people are friendly. We came to ski but we have seen that there are also many summer activities . For information, if you buy a ski pass you can go free pool and ice rink, this is very good for children to play.

A very nice vacation I recommend

Le chalet etait tres propre et conforme à la description

Tout est parfait, la décoration est belle et de qualite.

Le salon est tres confortable et quel plaisir de pouvoir se retrouver le soir pres de la cheminée après une bonne journée de ski.

Pour manger, il y a tout l equipement nécessaire pour faire de la bonne cuisine

Les chambres sont tres confortables, une mention speciale***** pour la qualité des lits

La station est tres jolie, et tres pratiques avec ses escalators pour aller skier.

Les habitants sont sympatiques. Nous sommes venus skier mais nous avons vu qu il y a aussi beaucoup d activités l été.ur information, si vous acheter un forfait ski vous pouvez aller gratuitement à la piscine et à la patinoire, c'est tres bien pour amuser les enfants

Chalet la fare

The chalet was absolutely perfect and had everything we needed for a fabulous stay. Lovely to stay in a newly built chalet which was bright and airy with amazing views to the mountains. The town is small and just right as there seems to be less queuing at vaujany for the lifts than if you were to head to alp d'huez. We loved our evening sat by the fire and the town has some lovely little restaurants. La remise was our favourite with fantastic and attentive staff. Can't wait to head back there next year!!!

Special interest holidays:

There are plenty of activities during the summer months such as walking, climbing, cycling, mountain biking, horse riding, tennis, archery, swimming, varied water sports on reservoir 10 mins drive away. There is also a zip wire assault course park in nearby village which caters for all ages. There are fantastic crèche facilities all year round and kids clubs for all levels providing access to wonderful activities.


Vaujany is aprox 97km from Grenoble airport, 130km from Chambery, 150km from Lyon Saint Exubery and 160km from Geneva. Transfers can be by bus, taxi or private car. Village is self contained with everything being walkable


Nearest villages are Allemont (5km), Bourg D'Oisans (12km) and Grenoble (48km)

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is strictly on Saturdays, 10am Departure time, 4pm arrival. This is to give time to the cleaning and preparation of the property for new arrivals
