1st Family Ski Holiday Heaven

  • 5 of 5

This was our first family skiing holiday with our children age 8 and 7 who had never skied before. We couldn't have wished for a more idyllic skiing holiday experience.

The chalet itself is wonderful, with a super character about it, plenty of space, an amazing kitchen, lots of bathrooms, warm and a bar! One of the best features is that it is ski in ski out, so we skied home most days for lunch which was great for the children, to be able to kick off ski boots and enjoy lunch either inside or outside on the many glorious sunny days we had.

The ski school is just at the bottom of the slope and both children loved it. Lovely French/English speaking instructors and since drop off is 0930 until 12pm it gives the adults a few hours to enjoy the plethora of skiing between La Plagne and Les Arcs. By the end of the week the children were skiing with confidence and could happily ski with us in the afternoon.

Our shopping had been bought and delivered for us by the owner and you can ski down to Montchavin to get anything you need, hop on the chairlift back up and ski back down to the chalet.

An amazing experience, one hard to beat. With our warmest thanks.

What a unique chalet!

  • 5 of 5

Our second time staying in this unique chalet. How many chalets have their own private sledge run at the end of the day? The chalet is well equipped – the kitchen vast and the bar provided hours of entertainment (the kids loved pouring beers for the dads). So many chalets will sleep this many but rarely have the space in the kitchen and relaxation areas for everyone to use with ease. Not so here. We filled every bed but there was room for everyone to relax and do as they please. Not for those who want to venture to the local bars each night but for us that wasn’t why we were there. We provided our own entertainment and had a fantastic time. Chris (host) was so hospitable and nothing was too much trouble. And the views from the chalet are simply spectacular!

Paradise

  • 4 of 5

Fantastic. A remote Chalet! (500m from the Vanoise Express! ) with chauffeured skidoo, in and out, and its own BAR! 2 mins to first lift. Best part, Après ski held at the bar or round the fire discussing the ,vast, skiing. 'Worst' part having to move après ski into the huge kitchen to carry on whilst preparing the evening meal. 10 minute ski in the morning to buy the days bread and croissants( or cook your own in the kitchen in 4). Superb accommodation above great little village. Great to ski back for lunch on the terrace in the sunshine. Sledging / fireworks in the evening on 'private' slope. A wonderful place for a group to stay. And no shopping for food. 8th visit and counting>

A Caribbean island in the skiing season.

  • 4 of 5

We were a party of 9 and we could have invited more friends as the accommodation is vast! The kitchen was fantastic and I absolutely loved the dishwasher. So quick! The bar was amazing as beer was on tap and obviously no queues. This is a serious chalet for big parties who enjoy their own company and do not have the desire to find bars and restaurants elsewhere as you are literally on the slopes for skiing the next morning when the lifts open. The chalet has no roads to or from it. If you wanted to dance the night away at the local disco, you would have a long plod through deep snow there and back. However, if your real passion is skiing and not the après ski then this place ticks all the boxes. In a way it is like going back in time as skiing must have been. We had a very relaxing time here and would thoroughly recommend it if all you really wanted was a place to relax and enjoy after the rigours of a day's skiing.

We were a party of 9 and we could have invited more friends as the accommodation is vast! The kitchen was fantastic and could cater for many more than our party. I absolutely loved the dishwasher. However, if your real passion is skiing and not the après ski then this place ticks all the boxes. In a way it is like going back in time as skiing must have been before it became so commercialised. We had a very relaxing time here and would thoroughly recommend it if all you really wanted was a place to relax and enjoy after the rigours of a day's skiing.
