The 'Rose Garden' is a beautiful 2 bedroom garden apartment in a wonderful residential area of Central Florence, complete with private garden to enjoy. Recently refurbished to a high standard, it's a wonderful base for your stay in this fantastic city. Inside, the property is immaculately presented. There are 2 double bedrooms, an open plan living, dining and kitchen area and 2 bathrooms. There is a sofa bed in the living area allowing the property to sleep up to 6 people in total. The property is fully air conditioned keeping it lovely and cool and inviting even in the Summer months, whilst the private garden is a wonderful bonus.
I am a mother with 2 children, age 9 & 12 and a very busy husband! I gave up work with Procter and Gamble 9 years ago to spend time at home with the children. I have loved being able to spend so much time with them. However, with both children now at school, I was keen to start working again. I initially enjoyed managing two of our own holiday properties in the Italian Lakes which we bought in 2008 and 2009 following our first visit to the area in 2007. However, I have now started to manage holiday homes for others, not just in the Italian Lakes, but elsewhere in Italy through my website - I carefully select each property and ensure that I maintain that personal but professional service level that I believe holidaymakers are looking for.
Florence is a fantastic city and one which I particularly like 'off season'. There is so much to see and do in the city throughout the year. A great place for those looking for a romantic getaway, it also offers a surprising amount for families and groups of friends.
This property is simply stunning, lovingly restored and beautifully furnished. Set in a lovely residential area just a 10 minute walk from the Palazzo Pitti and Boboli Gardens, it's also just across the River Arno from the rest of Florence's main attractions. Whilst the inside is immaculately presented, the property also has the added bonus of it's own private garden, a real bonus in the heart of the city.

The coast is just over an hours drive away if you want to spend a day on the beach. One of the best towns on the coast, Viareggio, which is also Tusancy's biggest seaside resort, is about a 90 minute drive. Viareggio has an air of elegance afforded by the long avenue of palms that run the length of its promenade and is worth a visit. The seaside resorts north from Viareggio to Forte dei Marmi are certainly popular with the wealthy Florentines who like to spend their summer holidays there.
The nearest airport is in Florence. However, flights often tend to be cheaper to Pisa which is only an hour and a quarter away by car. A cheap bus service connects Pisa airport to the heart of the city of Florence where it stops at the centrally located Santa Maria Novella train station. It's then a 30 minute walk to the property or you can hire a taxi. Car hire is not needed.
All the main museums and attractions in Florence (Il Duomo, Palazzo Vecchio, Ponte Vecchio, Uffizi, Santa Maria Novella etc) are within walking distance of the property. There are a whole host of bars and restaurants within walking distance too, and, of course, plenty of shops to enjoy!
Florence is an absolutely wonderful city to visit at any time of year. Visitors shouldn't miss the Piazza del Duomo, the Bargello, the Palazzo Vecchio, the Uffizi, Santa Maria Novella, San Lorenzo, San Miniato al Monte, Palazzo Pitti, Santa Croce and Santa maria del Carmine. Once you've visited all the historic sites of Florence, make sure you put a bit of time aside for some shopping too. Florence boats numerous street markets allowing visitors to immerse themselves in local culture whilst finding a bargain or two along the way. One of the liveliest is the San Lorenzo market (daily except Sundays) whilst in Santa Croce, you'll find the best farmers market in town (7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mon-Sat). In this area, you can also find a flea market near Piazza Delle Pulci whilst more serious antique shoppers should head to visit Piazza San Spirito on the 2nd Sunday of every month. The shops in the centre of Florence are also fantastic, but for those visitors looking for serious bargains, Florence boasts a couple of excellent outlet malls including The Mall Outlet and the Baberini Designer Outlet, both just 30 minutes outside the city. The city also has some excellent restaurants, clubs and cafe bars. The restaurants range from ultra modern to extremely traditional and both come highly recommended! If you want to use Florence as a base to explore other Italian cities, Siena is about 45 minutes away and you can get there either via bus or train. The bus tends to be quicker and cheaper though. Pisa is an hour by bus and Rome is just over 90 minutes away by Eurostar train. Closer to home, there is some beautiful countryside around Florence. We can arrange visits to local vineyards to sample the wines, cheese tasting or visits to olive groves to experience some true Italian culture. Please ask for more details.
