Blue Hill House is located in Fisherbeck, just a short walk into the centre of Ambleside, yet located very well for numerous walks up onto the fells. Wansfell stands just above it. The property has 4 double sized bedrooms, 3 bathrooms plus a cloakroom. There is a superb living area, comprising kitchen/diner with seating for 8. A spacious lounge with oak and leather furniture and an elegant conservatory with fine views towards the Coniston mountains. Each bedroom has a good degree of privacy and is suitable for 4 couples, extended families or two families. There is a modern contemporary theme throughout the property with high quality furnishings and fittings in every room. Outside there is a comfortable seating area with BBQ and patio furniture. There is an unfenced small beck running through the bottom of the garden, but this is away from the seating area.

Excellent location, excellent property

The property is a in a great location with just a short walk to the centre of Ambleside. Inside the property was roomy and the internal sun lounge was a great place to relax and chat. In short I am pleased to say that it did not just meet expectations it exceeded them.

Great house in Ambleside

Fantastic house. Very comfortable and well equipped kitchen. The first floor conservatory has fabulous views. Two ground floor bedrooms are nice and roomy.

Short walk into Ambleside town centre, downhill on way down, up hill on way back, but plenty of choice of restaurants and bars.

Will come back.

Blue Hill House is less than a ten minute walk to Waterhead on Lake Windermere. There are cruises on the lake to Wray Castle, Far Sawrey, Bowness, Brockhole and Lakeside at the south side of the lake. From Waterhead, you can hire a dinghy, feed the ducks, or enjoy a meal overlooking the lake.


Manchester and Liverpool Airports are approximately 100 miles away (1 hour 45 minutes by car). Manchester Airport has a direct train line link from Windermere Railway Station.

Windermere station is 4 miles away, approximately a 10 minute taxi ride.

Further Details:

Blue Hill House is only half a mile from all the facilities of Ambleside, which has plentiful quality restaurants, cinema (Zefferelli's has 5 screens), shops, including small supermarkets (Co-op, Spar and Tesco Express) and banks and grocery stores.

Platts' Park in Amableside has pitch and putt, children's playground and tennis courts.

Nearest theatres; Old Laundry Theatre, Bowness (7 minutes by car), Brewery Arts Centre, Kendal (20 minutes by car), Theatre by the Lake, Keswick (40 minutes by car).
