The Glasshouse is the newly build addition to Barrington House and takes its fantastic position on the site of an old swimming pool. It has been architecturally
designed and as its name suggest is mainly built from glass. It has its own private gated entrance and a beautiful garden with circular lawn, decking area and even a trampoline. It has 2 large bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, a downstairs cloakroom and an enormous open plan kitchen/living area. It has been beautifully decorated and tastefully furnished and has a wonderful relaxing, spacious and calming feeling.
Barrington House is an elegant historical Victorian property standing in its own gorgeous grounds with unbelievable views of the River Dart. We have 3 stunning self catering properties. Choose between The Penthouse (3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms), The Glasshouse (2 Bedrooms, 2 bathrooms) or The Hideaway (3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms). They all more than satisfy all prerequisites for an idyllic self catering holiday - the space to spread out, comfortable and luxurious accommodation and a unique and beautiful setting. We try and be all things to all people - we are super baby friendly, family friendly and at the same time offer a romantic escape for couples. We tailor our accommodation to our guests and along with the welcome bottle of prosecco you will also find every type of baby equipment, toy chests, dressing up clothes, books and DVD's and array of information on the local area and our very own Barrington House guide to Dartmouth.
We bought Barrington House in 2004 and have spent 4 years turning it from a very traditional B&B into a beautiful family home with 3 exciting self catering properties. It has been a labour of love but we are very proud of what we have achieved. We launched the business in July 2012. We have had a very successful start and received fantastic feedback from all our guests.
We live in the main house with our 3 children and love welcoming guests to stay in either The Penthouse, The Glasshouse and The Hideaway. The main house is very separate from the holiday homes but we are on hand if you need any help or advice or simply want to say Hi!
We offer truly luxurious accommodation and we have made our properties suitable for couples, families and groups of friends.

Dartmouth has always been a special place and is where where I grew up as a child. It was always my dream to get married in the church by Dartmouth castle and to go on a boat in my wedding dress! My dreams came true although it was a very long time ago now!!!
Having lived abroad for the past 10 years, it is now wonderful to be settled back in Dartmouth with my family and to be living in a such a beautiful house. We wake up every morning to the amazing views of the River Dart and just love living in this part of the world - it takes a lot to beat it! We have 3 children ranging from 7 to 15 years old and there is so much to do - whether it be crab fishing at Dittisham, pottering about on the river, popping over to Salcombe or simply hanging out on one of the beaches - we are never bored!
Barrington House is a very special place to stay and from the moment you drive through the gates, your holiday expectations however high will be met. The views are amazing, the accommodation is truly luxurious and we are at hand to help make your holiday enjoyable and memorable.
We are also very close to town and have plenty of parking spaces - which are like gold dust in Dartmouth!
We are also very baby, child and family friendly and our list of facilities for babies and children is extensive.
