|Minimum Stay||4 - 7 nights|
The apartments have private areas where you can sit and enjoy the view, have a BBQ, swim in the pool (includes child pool) and sunbathe in the pleasant surroundings, alternatively you could enjoy a day on the beach, the nearest is three minutes walk away with the calm blue sea which is shallow for children to enjoy. The apartment has two bedrooms and two shower rooms with toilet (not wet rooms) leading off the hallway which goes into the open plan kitchen/living area. The large double-glazed windows & patio doors give a wonderful panoramic view of the sea and Sozopol town. The apartment is within one of three Villas which are privately owned by all nationalities including Bulgarian and Russians on this small gated complex. There is a traditional Bulgarian restaurant nearby which has regular evening entertainment as well as good food and drink. Sozopol is an enjoyable walk away where there are many bars and restaurants.
Sozopol, : Sozopol is known as “the jewel of the Black Sea” and the Bulgarian “St Tropez” by both the elite of the former communist bloc and its current visitors. The old town includes charming 19th-century Bulgarian houses positioned on a rocky headland, with two lovely beaches, lots of bars and restaurants, and a lively promenade. Founded in 610 BC by the Greeks it continues to flourish providing a long history of archaeological interest.
Sozopol is divided into two sections; the new town and the old town. The apartments are at the end of the new town beach and are built on a site that revealed artefacts aged 500 years BC which are exhibited in Sozopol Museum.
Nessebur, Sunny Beach and Burgas: Nessabur an hours drive away is well worth a visit, in peak season there is a ferry that takes you across the bay which makes a nice day trip.
Sunny Beach (next to Nessebar) is Bulgarias largest resort is about an hours drive away where you can find everything a 'package' holiday offers including large water parks..
Burgas (Bourgas) is the second largest city and seaside resort on the Bulgarian Black Sea and is situated 34 kilometres north of Sozopol..
Two Centre Holiday: Why not make the most of the beautiful black sea and have a two centre holiday. We have a 'traditional Bulgarian' villa with private infinity pool 3km from Golden Sands (near Varna)and a short drive away from the quaint marina town of Balchik. Villa reference is 412659 for further information.
We stayed at Villa Briz for 5 days. From the moment we stepped foot on the premises, we knew not only that the listing description of the accomodations could not do them justice, but also that we wished we could spend longer there. Indeed, we loved everything about our apartment, the swimming pool, and the location of the property. Our apartment had a spatious living room with large windows offering spectacular views of the Black Sea. On the afternoon it rained, my husband and I sat in the living room, looking out at the rain, reading, and feeling extremely lucky to be there. The apartment's 2 bedrooms were also spatious, clean, and very comfortable. Our two kids shared one of the bedrooms and just loved everything about it (including the cozy, soft blankets). The bathrooms were clean and nice.
The premises of the villa were absolutely beautiful, with blossoming rose bushes and other flowers in bloom. The swimming pool was never busy. It was clean (we saw a man cleaning it every other morning) and we never worried about forgetting something behind. We knew that it would be safe and we would find it the next day. The kids realaly liked the kid pool--a great option for our 5-year-old son who can't swim yet.
As the other reviewers note, the location of the villa is perfect--close to a couple of beaches, within an easy walk to both the new and old towns. My husband and I both run, and we were delighted with the running routes, going by small hotels and larger complexes. A real treat!
Last but not least, when we arrived we were greeted by a "care package," which included a bottle of Bulgarian wine, feta cheese, eggs, bread, butter, juice, and mineral water. We felt at home instantly.
In short, we hope to be back next time we visit Bulgaria!
From our first contact with Sue and Al when enquiring about their property until we said farewell at the airport, they could not have been more helpful, informative and welcoming. Their property deserves all the positive comments already posted. Despite arriving literally in the middle of the night Al met us at the airport and Sue was up waiting to greet us too..The apartment is large and airy with spectacular views from the lounge towards the Bay of Sozopol and with easy access from all rooms to the 2 balconies.. It was beautifully presented It felt very much like a "home from home" and is well equipped with nothing of note lacking, although, in truth, the cost of eating out is such good value, the fridge was only required to keep the beer, bacardi, milk and ice cream cold !! It is air conditioned throughout so comfortable by day and night as the temperatures soared into the high thirties, and was blissfully quiet at night, and throughout much of the day. The balconies are not large but you can follow the sun ( or shade) throughout much of the day, and the pool and surrounding area is lovely and well maintained and perfect for relaxing at any time of the day. Rarely was it ever remotely busy and often the 2 of us enjoyed it to ourselves. The nearest beach is literally 200 metres and was never too busy, and we were always able to get a table at the excellent beach bar where the waitresses were fascinated by us playing Scrabble. There are larger and busier beaches adjoining the new and old towns, but a 15 minute walk turning left from the apartment past the petrol garage leads to Apollonia and Marea beach which is lovely and long, white and clean with a smattering of beach bars and a warm crystal clear sea. Definitely recommended and worth the walk. The "new town" is a pleasant 10 to 15 minutes stroll depending on just how hot it was, and the "old town" a further 10 minutes or so. Both have their individual attractions with a wide choice of bars and restaurants often with entertainment, and some particularly spectacular views from the restaurants on the rocks on the far side of the old town. Lunch there was idyllic. The locals and visitors (few brits) are friendly and there was never the slightest hint of any rowdiness or trouble. It is a resort in which you feel absolutely safe. A lovely apartment in an ideal location with terrific hosts. We will return Thank you Sue and Al. . Neil and Amanda.
Beautifully build apartment and very comfortably furnished. Everything you need to feel at home, quiet and peaceful, surrounded by the sea. The owners Sue and Al are very welcoming and know how to spoil you and make you feel at home. We would definitely come again and would recommend the apartment to our friends.
From the moment that we booked this apartment to leaving Bourgas airport at the end of our holiday, I can honestly say that Sue and Al made this booking first class.
Sue was always on hand to help with any queries that we had - and collected us promptly as we arrived at the airport. Al – amazed us that despite being previously involved in a car accident taped the bumper on and still got us to the airport for our journey home.
The apartment was very light and spacious, extremely well equipped, and perfect for our family holiday. There was an excellent welcome pack left for our late night start to the holiday; the shops are so close and well stocked that we had no problems getting provisions each day after that.
Sozopol is a very pleasant town in which to enjoy your evenings – not at all rowdy as some Bulgarian resorts can be. Each day we enjoyed the 10-minute stroll into the new town, and then a further five-minute walk down into the old town where there is a variety of free entertainment in the town square provided on most days of the week. There are so many good restaurants to choose from and we were astounded that we could eat and drink for a fraction of the UK prices. The Flamingo restaurant nearby has good food and varied entertainment if you do not want to travel further than the end of the street.
The pool is a good size and is well cared for - the beach nearby is very clean and is only a short stroll away – it has lifeguards on hand each day.
There is plenty of entertainment in the evening for younger children in the Old Sozopol Park.
Thanks to you Sue and Al we are already planning our holiday for next year.
Thank you Sue and Al.
Fantastic apartment. Great pool. Cute town. Exciting food. Friendly locals. Georgeous beaches. Beautiful weather. Prices ~1/3 of the UK. We're not going to France or Italy for a long time! Thank you Sue and Al for the opportunity to enjoy your apartment in Sozopol. Best wishes, Matt, Helen, Joe & Ella x
