About laurain wallace

We like the country life with all our animals, which do make us laugh a lot with their silly ways, and I feel so lucky to get up every morning and have the views of the North downs. It's nice to have friends and guest enjoy it as much as myself and my partner Mick.

laurain wallace purchased this cottage in 1970

Why laurain wallace chose Maidstone

My partners parents bought the property, to get out of London. They fancied a bit of the good life. I moved here about 7 years ago after meeting Mick on a building site in 2000, at first I found it rather remote from the town life, but to be honest we are very central for many thing, Dover, London, beautiful coast lines, Canterbury and even a pizza delivery service which we never had when I first moved here.

What makes this cottage unique

The fantastic views of the North downs from the cottages and the abundant wildlife you can watch from the comfort of your patio area or take a stroll up the garden and feed the chickens, ducks and geese, Bubble and Squeak our Alpacas love a piece of apple.

We enjoyed our stay and very welcoming. So nice to meet the owners on site. Lovely veiws from the window. So neat and all the Animals were fab. Plenty of places to visit within a few miles. We loved Faversham and Lenham.

Visited Drogdale Fruit Farm. Amazing Place! Also The Friars where the Pilgrims visit every year. Well worth a visit.

Beautiful cottage, in lovely grounds.

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely week in this beautiful cottage, surrounded by animals. The whole place is very well managed, with animals in good secure pens, with loads of space, but meaning our jack Russell could not get to the animals, had she escaped from the cottage. Cottage has everything you need and owners are really nice and helpful, giving details of good walks and places to visit. Very relaxing stay, would happily recommend to others.

Welcoming, relaxing, spotless cottage with helpful friendly hosts.

Our week in Kent was enhanced by staying in this well turned out, bright, cheerful, comfortable cottage. The listing description was accurate in every way. We were welcomed by one of the owners and some of her delightful homemade lemon drizzle cake.

The cottage had everything we needed. The kitchen was well equipped and everything in it was spotlessly clean. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was spotless and had beautifully soft towels. There is ample parking and of course the small holding animals to visit. When we had a small problem it was resolved and fixed straight away.

For much of our week we were able to breakfast and have an evening drink out on the patio. We visited Canturbury, Rochester, Igthem Mote, Sissinghurst, Leeds Castle, Quex Park, Margate, Broadstairs and Ramsgate with ease.

If we go back to Kent, we would look to stay here again, and would heartily recommend it.
