About Leslie Cook
We are a family of three who moved to Brittany to escape our busy lifestyle and to give our young son the opportunity to grow up safely in the fresh air and enjoy the benefits of the countryside. We have integrated well and have made some fabulous friends and neighbours. Our son attends the local school and is now a popular member of the class. He is fluent in french, while our understanding of the language is taking a little longer, we do try!

What makes this Cottage unique
We are situated down a lovely quiet country lane, which is so safe for us to walk our dog and enjoy the hot summer days. A dip in the pool and enjoying the sunset is also a great way to spend the evenings However we are so close to all amenties, from the best butchers to the large supermarkets in Guingamp, we have peace and tranqullity but the convenience of the shops when we have run out of a bottle of red or a baguette!! The beaches are also a short drive away, with plenty sea, sand, cafes and resturants, it make a fabuous day out for the whole family.

Week in Cotes-D'Armor
My husband and our 2 teenage daughters have enjoyed a fantastic week in this lovely property in this beautiful part of Brittany
A comfortable & spacious gite in a lovely, peaceful place but close enough to everything you need.
Lovely welcome from Denise when we arrived and a welcome pack of essentials too! The gite is spacious inside with plenty of room to relax outside as well. We really enjoyed the private swimming pool everyday and also ventured out to some of the great beaches that are within a 30 minute drive. A lovely relaxing break in a good location for exploring Brittany. Thank you Denise! X
We chose well! First time in Brittany and booked again for 2017. Delightful! The cottage is really comfy and after a full day exploring, a perfect base. Loads to see, we just couldn't fit it all in in the two weeks we booked. Our hosts were delightful! Can't wait for visit number 2! J & A
A lovely, spacious gite and grounds. Quiet location with easy access to beaches and historic towns.
We had such a lovely week at Pedernec. The gite was light, clean, spacious and well equipped. The pool and garden gave the whole family (two children 14 and 12 years) plenty of space to relax and play. The cats and chickens were a big hit. Such a quiet, rural location, but so easy to access the beautiful coastline and many interesting, historic towns. Too much to see and do in such a short time. Denise was very warm and welcoming. We would definitely recommend this holiday cottage.
Thank you very much for your review, I am so pleased you enjoyed your stay at the cottage and it was lovely to meet you all.
Come and visit us again soon.
Great base to explore Brittany
Great base to explore Brittany. Stayed with my wife and 2 young children. Lots of space inside property and outside, very quiet and peaceful. Owners live in property next door who were very welcoming and on hand if you need anything (such as light bulb blown) but also very respectful of your privacy and hardly noticed them throughout the week. All facilities you could need in kitchen, bedrooms, private pool, bbq, seating at front and back of house to get morning/afternoon sun. Local village (pedernec) and town (guingamp) a 5/10 minute drive with bakery, shops etc.
Property is 2 bedroom but as we were travelling with a baby the 2nd bathroom was big enough to put a travel cot in (also provided) with a towel in the window which blacked it out and made a useful 3rd room! Main bathroom had toilet/shower/bath/sink so didn't need to go in 2nd bathroom anyway.
Would recommend and happily stay again.
Thank you so much for your lovely message, it means a lot to us.
We are really pleased you had so much fun on your holiday in Brittany and enjoyed staying in the cottage.
Come back and see us again soon!!
Relaxation + comfort - easy access to beaches, etc
Just two of us in our 60s, looking for relaxation and comfort with easy access to visit beaches, see stunning scenery and take lazy lunches - we weren't disappointed !!! Excellent property which fitted the description perfectly. Two outdoor tables - one in the courtyard for sunny alfresco eating (great BBQ) and one in the back garden to sit with a glass of wine in the evening and watch the sun set. We were slightly concerned about the above ground pool but it was perfect for cooling down and would have been much appreciated by our grandchildren ..... Guingamp is the nearest town - very pretty, such a lot to see and do and many really lovely restaurants. Stunning coastal views and golden beaches within 30 minutes drive, including more wonderful restaurants. The Plat Du Jour and Vin (or Cidre) a la Maison are always excellent choices !!! Denise and Les are hard working and helpful hosts but concerned to respect the privacy of their guests, although we did enjoy a great evening together. Elliott is a charmer and switches between fluent French and English with ease - what a gift !!! We were surprised that there were no sun loungers but this was the only small issue for us. We will be recommending this property to friends and family and will not hesitate to rebook.
The cottage is approximately a 15 minute drive to the Pink Granite Coast. Which has a variety of clean sandy beaches and coves to explore. There is also many beach side cafes and restaurants to choose from.
