Burton Bradstock is a lovely village to explore and just a picturesque 15 min walk to Hive Beach with its trendy open air fish restaurant. The village has two excellent foody pubs, one 4 mins walk away and the other virtually next door. Cornflower Cottage comfortably accommodates 7 people and has a private garden with barbecue and eating area and summer house. The owners were very helpful throughout the booking process and during our stay. Sun loungers would be a useful addition.
Comfortable, spacious house in village locaion
We had a great stay at Shadrack. The house has plenty of room (we were 7 adults and a small dog) and is very well maintained and presented. The owners were good hosts and replied promptly to any queries we had, and give us plenty of information about the village and nearby areas. Easy walk to the beach (great cafe), even easier walk to good pubs and a small shop. Bridport with its mixture of high street, small shops and market is only a few miles away so you can get everything you need. It's an excellent location for exploring the coast, plenty of places to eat, drink or just relax. Loved it!
Perfect for a family getaway.
This is a beautiful, impeccably maintained cottage in a lovely Dorset village a stone's throw from Hive Beach. Both cottage and village are full of character; we were told that parts of the cottage date from the early Tudor period, and that is not difficult to believe. Despite the cottage's venerable age, it is extremely clean and comfortable, and the garden is a delight. We had a splendid stay, and the owners couldn't have been more hospitable, while also discreet. The village is an excellent base for discovering Dorset, with easy access to Bridport, Weymouth, Dorchester, Lyme Regis and Abbotsbury as well as other less tourist-trafficked areas of beauty along the Jurassic coast. Thanks so much for letting us stay!
We had an amazing stay in this beautiful cottage. Mark and Robbie were very welcoming and the facilities in the cottage were excellent. There was everything you needed. The garden was amazing, especially for our dogs and the children. Beautiful setting. Will we come back again soon.
A perfect choice
We (brother and sister + the families) just spent a wonderful fortnight in this cottage. The moment we stepped in we sensed that this was the perfect choice for our summer holiday. Eggs, a bottle of wine and bunches of fresh flowers gave us a warm welcome. The owners Mark and Robbie had thought of everything and presented a clean, well-equipped house with a wonderful garden, where the kids could play and the grown-ups sat in the little summer house in the evenings. Having been fortunate with the weather we had breakfast and dinner in the garden as well. The cottage is ideally situated to tour West Dorset and Burton Bradstock is a picturesque village which offers great opportunities to eat. Nearby Hive Beach completes the location. We can definitely recommend this cottage and hope that we manage to come back one day.
Wonderful cottage in a beautiful location. We're returning guests as we had such a lovely time, this time brought mother-in-law who thoroughly enjoyed it too! Robbie and Mark are such fabulous hosts and every detail is taken care of. We love it and our Schnauzer Kaiser loves it just as much!! Especially lounging in front of the log fire.
We will be back again for more!!
