An enjoyable week
The cottage is lovely with everything you need and 3 large bedrooms. The shower and bath are also excellent. There is a very good sized garden which the dogs enjoyed. As advised the road outside the front door is very busy. West Bay was a 5 minute drive away and was the best beach we visited, having 10 pin bowling just down the road also helped us entertain our youngster. The owners were very helpful and professional.
Ideal Dorset Week's Holiday
Very well presented, conveniently located close to two pubs that serve food, although the Three Horseshoes was the better of the two. Also a pleasant walk to the Hive Cafe on the coast for a fantastic fish and chips lunch!
A wonderful place to stay.
Cornflower cottage is a beautiful place to stay. It is superbly equipped, frankly the best we have been to - particularly if you like cooking. It really was home from home and there was everything one could possibly need. The rooms are all clean and spacious and the garden a delight. The beds were excellent, very comfortable and all slept soundly in them.
We all found the extra touches a thoughtful addition to the start of our holiday; flowers, wine and a ready to go barbecue tray, which we made full use of. A lot of extras were provided that one rarely finds in self catering accommodation. Robbie contacted us before our trip and gave full and comprehensive details and directions. He and Mark are perfect hosts, on hand if needed but unobtrusive the rest of the time, although having met Robbie, they would have been more than welcome to call in at any time. We visited three local places to eat; the pub next door - The Anchor, The Three Horseshoes and The Club House. We all enjoyed the meals in all three locations, all are different and special in their own ways and all are definitely worth a visit. The local beach is easily accessible (within walking distance) and has the well known Hive Beach Cafe there. There are lots of lovely local places to visit and if you need a massage that won't break the bank then visit 'The Shed' at Symondsbury.
The road outside is busy but we knew this before booking. We had dogs with us and we just made sure that we were vigilant about safety. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cottage to anyone and hopefully we will be able to come back sometime.
Nice property, large garden , well located in Burton Bradstock, pubs and shops a short walk as well as a good play park for children. Nice beach 15 minute stroll or 2 min drive if you have lots of stuff to carry, golf course 5 min drive, other beaches all within 20 mins drive, easy parking, Weymouth within 30 mins.
Great week in Burton Bradstock
Property was just as explained, with everything we required for an excellent week in Dorset for 3 couples. The cottage is charming, well equipped with a beautiful garden to relax in. The location is excellent within the village with two pubs with good food close by and two local shops. Parking was as explained with no problems parking opposite the cottage or in the nearby (50 metres) cul-de-sac. Enjoyed walking to Burton Beach and the Hive Café and to West Bay. The bus stop so close with service to Weymouth, Abbotsbury, Bridport and further afield a real bonus and we hardly used the cars. The road outside the cottage is busy but quiet at night.
The cottage has good size bedrooms, comfortable beds and is very well equipped.
The secluded back garden is attractive, and a sun trap. There was all the equipment we needed in the kitchen and throws were provided for the sofas as we had 2 dogs. We would definitely return if heading back to that area. The only downside was the busy road but we quickly got used to traffic passing and took extra care when crossing. We had three cars but parking wasn’t an issue as we always found space either opposite or nearby.
Hive Beach is less than half a mile away, which is considered the best beach on this stretch of the coast and is home to the acclaimed Hive Beach Cafe.
Bridport is about 3 miles away and has a bustling weekly market and range of traditional shops.
Lyme Regis is 12 miles away
