Lovely little cottage with everything we needed for a great stay

  • 5 of 5

Property is in a great location for walks and cycling. Plenty of nearby options for food and drinks. The cottage felt small at times with five adult men in it but we could all sit and eat together and spent a good deal of time in the garden listening to nothing but the waves rolling up the pebble beach below. The cottage is all in good order and we had a thoroughly great time.

This is a beautiful cottage with loaded with character set in a stunning location. It is clean and tidy and has everything you need for a trip away. The surrounding countryside is breathtaking, there are lots of beautiful walks to chose from and it is only a stone throw away from the fabulous Ringstead bay. Durdle door and Lulworth cove are also very close by. Perfect getaway for a family, groups of friends or if you just want some peace and quiet!

A peaceful retreat.

  • 5 of 5

A week spent in this special little gem of cottage was nowhere near long enough, the world just faded away. No, it's not luxurious, and yes, the track leading up is a bit tricky, but the location more than compensates for both, and once there, I didn't really want to go driving round the rest of Dorset, all I needed was right on my doorstep. The meandering path through the woods and the ferns was easily managed, to a beach that never seemed to have more than 6 people on it. The walk along the cliff top to White Nothe was spectacular, and the views jaw dropping. The cottage itself was perfectly adequate, with everything you need in the kitchen, and the garden was tranquil, yet busy all the time with wildlife coming and going, to the constant background sound of the waves on the beach below, it was a little piece of heaven. I know I could have seen more of Dorset while I was there, but I chose to stay in my bubble of peace, a good detox for the soul. Highly recommended!

Peaceful & Secluded Location

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking for a nature filled, peaceful and private location that's as much fun getting there as being there, then this is the place for you.

We have just had 5 lovely nights here. If you are considering driving here in a fancy convertible or a huge Range Rover then reconsider which car you bring. The track to the cottage is gorgeous but a car is needed. We have a 4x4 Mitsubishi Outlander and it was probably on the limit of size for the track there but good ground clearance is needed as the track is rough at points and narrows towards the end.

There is a stunning, almost Fairy like walk through the garden, past a swing seat and into the woods for a walk to the beach. If you are not steady on your feet then take care. We had storms one night and the woodland walk was very slippy the next day over hand made bridges (Logs on the ground!) and through the undergrowth. It is a well worth it walk as its truly magical and opens up at the end to a beach which hardly anyone on it. In 5 days we only saw a handful of people there. It is like having your very own private beach.

The coastline all along is fll of fossils and beautiful beaches to visit such as Durdle door and Lulworth Cove.

The cottage is described as basic, but the facilities are very good. The cottage is clean and quaint inside and has plenty of space, very pretty and you an hear the ocean and waves crashing on the beach. You can just see the sea from the top windows but you know the ocean is close. The cottage is in a well sheltered position so you have protection from the wind when the weather turns. The Bath is preferred as the shower will barely get you wet.

We have had a fabulous time and i would recommend this to anyone except the very old or frail as it could be hard work for them.

We will be back,n for longer next time.
