A lovely retreat

  • 5 of 5

The fact that we only used the car once, and our bikes not at all, is a reflection of just how much we enjoyed being in and around the cottage, on the beach at the bottom of the glen,or walking the coastal paths to east and west of the cottage.

The walk through the glen, down to the beach, was a real delight - we caught a fleeting glimpse of roe deer, and saw owls there at dusk and heard them further into the night. Listening to the sea crashing onto the shingle was a lovely contrast to the sound of traffic we get at home.

The beach is long, and was very quiet, while the water was warm enough for swimming, at the end of September.

The cottage is quite "basic" but is comfortable and has everything we required to make it a special week. I can only think of one occasion when we have re-booked somewhere, in the thirty years we have been renting holiday properties, but we will definitely stay at Glen Cottage again.

Peaceful cosy cottage far from any hustle and bustle

  • 5 of 5

Lovely quaint thatched roof cottage a stone's throw from the sea and on the Coastal Path. Roomy and fully furnished - everything you need in the kitchen and Netflix on the TV. Private garden, peaceful and quiet. Great walks in the surrounding countryside - i.e. Durdle Door & Lulworth Cove. Can hear the sea at night. Owner is very friendly and helpful, providing tips and advice about the surrounding area. If you want to get away from it all, I would heartily recommend Glen Cottage.

Beautiful cottage in a tranquil location. Everything you need to just unwind and relax we loved it.

  • 5 of 5

We hoped that we would find one day somewhere special to have a family holiday and we truly believe here we did just that. It was ideal. Totally in darkness at night so we could view the stars. Lovely surroundings and some amazing wildlife. It really was just a short walk to the beach also which was great for fishing, snorkling and relaxing. It was great just to get away from it all. We took a few trips into Weymouth too which is only a short drive. We loved walking the coastal path to The Smugglers Inn which is in Osmington theybhave some great beers and wonderful food there too. We hope to come back again here soon.

Lovely little cottage with everything we needed for a great stay

  • 5 of 5

Property is in a great location for walks and cycling. Plenty of nearby options for food and drinks. The cottage felt small at times with five adult men in it but we could all sit and eat together and spent a good deal of time in the garden listening to nothing but the waves rolling up the pebble beach below. The cottage is all in good order and we had a thoroughly great time.
