From the sunny south facing balcony, the apartment boasts superb views over the town and the stunning mountains An ideal base to explore the extensive 650k of Portes du Soleil ski heaven! Ski/Board from Morzine into Switzerland reaching as far as Chatel. All abilities are well catered for from nursery to black runs with 248 different pistes to choose from. And an opportunity for night skiing too.

Not a skier? You can enjoy snow shoe treks, paragliding, nocturnal sledging, snow scooters, ice skating, swimming in the new indoor pool, even ice diving & helicopter flights!

Easy access to the shared garden from our apartment for the children to build snowmen! Younger children can even go sledging in the garden area on its gentle slope. Or head to the garden for some late season sunbathing sessions!

Having celebrated early retirement we felt it was time to make a break and do something different!

We decided to give a ski season a go and in fact we did five!

Having completed five fabulous seasons out here in Morzine, we made the decision to stay in our UK home when we became grandparents. This is when we chose to share our studio apartment with guests.

AP & SJ Johnson purchased this apartment in 2006

Why AP & SJ Johnson chose Portes du Soleil

We both have a love of the mountains and are keen skiers, so when considering buying a place in France Morzine was the obvious choice.

We have both taken early retirement and have used this opportunity to escape the gloomy English winters. We spent five winters living in our Studio apartment in Morzine and loved every minute of it!

We now have extra family commitments in the UK so we have decided not to do any more ski seasons. We can now make our studio apartment available for others to enjoy.

What makes this apartment unique

We love the convenient situation. We never tire of the wonderful view from our sunny balcony.

The convenient location of our studio apartment is great, with the ski lifts, shops, restaurants and bars all within very easy reach, not to mention that Geneva Airport is only 75 minutes away!

Well equiped studio in an ideal location

We booked this clean and quiet studio as a base for exploring the area by walking the mountains around Morzine, Avoriaz and Le Gets. It was a great location and the studio met our needs in every way, with abundant hot water, well equipped kitchen and a generally relaxing environment after our trips. The owners Paul and Sally were very helpful and responded very quickly and efficiently to any requests. The local contact Annelie was also very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

Perfect Location

A great little apartment, well equipped, extremely clean and well presented. The booking process was very easy and the owners Paul ad Sally were more than happy to answer our questions.

Comfortable and well equipped

We had a lovely week in Morzine in this small but perfectly formed apartment! It's really comfortable and has everything you need. It's very quiet and an easy walk into the centre of town and the ski lift - even with a slow 6 year old in tow! This is our second stay there and I'm sure we will be back again another year!

Great Apartment

Great apartment, great location

We stayed at this apartment on a skiing holiday. It was very easy to communicate with the owners who were extremely friendly and helpful.

The owners have furbished the apartment extremely well and four of us fitted into to it very comfortably. All necessary facilities are there, even a TV with British channels. A ski locker in which all our skis fitted easily is provided in a locker room shared with other apartments. This was a perfect base for skiing and other sports, summer and winter, and we cannot speak highly enough of it.

The apartment is in the village of Morzine which has easy direct lift access to the ski resorts of both Avoriaz and Les Gets. Because Morzine is a traditional French village there are several very good restaurants and excellent traditional French food shops. The meats, cheeses, cakes and breads from the shops were wonderful, so eating in was always a pleasure. We also recommend highly the restaurant La Chaudanne: excellent food, wine and service, and only a two to three minutes walk from the apartment.

We definitely intend to have more holidays in Morzine, and would very much like to stay in the same apartment.

Lovely apartment in a perfect location

4 of us have just returned after a weeks snowboarding.

It is a lovely clean and bright apartment located perfectly just outside the centre of Morzine, 10 minutes walk away are the main ski lifts, bus stop, apres ski bars and shops, the Casino supermarket is about 5 minutes away.

The apartment is well equipped and very clean.

The customer service provided by Paul & Sally was spot on, with plenty of usefull information provided by email.

We would definately recommend staying at the apartment for a lovely weeks holiday in Morzine.

Coast/Beach:

Although Morzine is in the mountains, there are various "beaches" at local lakes and at Lake Geneva (Lac Leman). The nearest "beach" is at Lac du Montriond which is just a 10 minute drive or a lovely walk along the river valley. In the summer drive to Thonon "beach" on Lake Geneva.

Travel:

Morzine is just 75 minutes transfer time from Geneva Airport.

From the UK, many budget & scheduled airlines fly to Geneva, including Easyjet, Jet2, Swissair, BA etc.

From Airport to resort there are numerous airport transfer companies but we highly recommend PowderCab. Car hire from Geneva Airport is also available. If driving to Morzine it's approximately 8 hours from Calais via the French Autoroutes. Morzine is just forty minutes off the A40.

Free buses will take you around town during the ski season and in the height of the summer season.

Distances:

The centre of Morzine is just a 6 minute walk away. Further afield you can visit Lake Geneva, Evian, Thonon & the medieval village of Yvoire are all within 45min drive. Chamonix & Annecy are just over a 1 hour's drive away.

The charming medieval village of Samoens is within easy reach at about 30mins drive.

Further Details:

Conveniently located – the nearest supermarket, shops & restaurants are just 100m or so from our doorstep. Ski lifts & the bustling town centre are within easy reach of the apartment, just a 6 minute walk, or hop on a free shuttle bus that stops just 35m from the apartment.

Morzine is a delightful, traditional French town in the Haute Savoie region, it has a wide variety of superb restaurants, bars & cafés. It’s a very family friendly town. You can enjoy snow shoe treks, paragliding, nocturnal sledging, snow scooters, ice skating, swimming in the new indoor pool, even ice diving & helicopter flights!

In the heart of the town there is an open air ice rink, a traditional carousel, and horse drawn carriages will take you on tours around the town.

Morzine is just as beautiful in the summer months too. A vast range of summer activities, including golf, triathlon training courses, swimming in the gorgeous outdoor or new indoor pool, mountain biking & river activities etc. are all close at hand, in this wonderful mountain scenery. Venture into Avoriaz to experience the new Aqua Centre (Aquariaz!) Dare to try the Fantasticable, which "flies" you from Mountain top to valley.(Summer only)

There are a multitude of walks with breathtaking views from the mountain tops. Use the chairlifts/cablecars to explore the mountains and you can also enjoy fabulous wooded & riverside walks.

Visit the Cascade de Nyon a fabulous local waterfall. A bit further afield go to Gorges du Pont du Diable or the amazing waterfall at Sixt-fer-a-Cheval (Cascade du Rougets) and the fantastic Cirque du Cheval also in Sixt-fer-a-Cheval.
