High Water Cottage is a delightful Grade II Listed 18th century holiday home located in picturesque Bosham, an historic harbourside village which features on the Bayeaux Tapestry. Bosham has a Saxon Church, picturesque cottages and a beautiful harbour. High Water Cottage is within 100 yards of the harbour (popular with yachting enthusiasts), tea rooms, craft centre, church and pub/restaurant. This delightful cottage has been completely refurbished throughout giving a spacious and comfortable feel whilst retaining all the character, charm and style of a period dwelling. Leisure pursuits within the area, aside from sailing, include walking, cycling, golf, tennis, riding, bird watching and the beaches at Hayling Island and The Witterings. There is horseracing at 'Glorious' Goodwood” as well as the Goodwood Festival of Speed and Goodwood Revival. The South Downs are nearby as is Chichester (4 miles) with its cathedral, theatre, cinema, leisure centre and excellent shops.
Sue and Chris Cartwright furnish their holiday homes to provide a high quality experience. Not the average holiday let..
The cottage feels spacious yet warm and homely. It is simply but very comfortably furnished. I spent Christmas week there with my family - 5 adults and 2 children and it was perfect for our needs. But, and it is a big but, the cottage is in real need of some TLC and some basic maintenance work. It was also not as clean as it should have been. Chris, the owner, was extremely helpful when I made him aware of various problems. With a bit of investment of time and money it could be the perfect cottage in the perfect location.
We used this property as a family meeting point having travelled from Australia. The house is full of charm and is in a wonderful location. There was sufficient space for our two daughters and their children without feeling we were on top of each other. The property was well equpped but having come from the land of the bbq, we would suggest that this piece of equipment be given a once over? Outside, much fun was had guessing how far the tide would reach up the road! The pub was a short walk away, but beware weekends when it took ages to be served and the food was not of the best. The village is delightful with great walks from the front door. Would we visit again?Everyone was of the view that the answer would be a definte yes.
Myself and my family stayed here the night before my wedding as I was married just down the road at the Millstream Hotel. The cottage was ideal with all we needed and surprisingly spacious for us to get ready for my big day! We know Bosham well and come here regularly and love it here! The owner Chris was very helpful and lovely to talk to.
We stayed at High water Cottage in Bosham for 3 nights in June, during the Festival of Speed for Goodwood.
Easy travelling to Goodwood by taxi from village.
Beautiful country cottage and lovely charming village. 3 Country pubs, cafes, shop, and gift shop in village.
The cottage was well equipped for a lovely family stay.
The accommodation was perfect for our family, 5 adults, 2 children.
Thinking of re-booking for next year.
We rented this cottage for a family break at Easter. It was clean and cosy with lots of space so we didnt feel cramped at all. My grand daughter (20 months) had plenty of space to play in without getting under the feet of the rest of the family. It was very light and airey and no one wanted to leave. I would certainly recommend this cottage to others from the moment of booking the owner has been helpful throughout
Situated in Bosham close to the water, this cottage is in a prime location with the Anchor Bleu a few minutes walk around the corner plus plenty of opportunities to explore the surrounding area.
The cottage is well appointed with everything you could need for a stay there. The owner is very friendly and gave plenty of advice for things to do locally.
We would certainly recommend the cottage for a holiday.
