What an amazing house

  • 5 of 5

We have just had the best time staying at the Old Watermill. Organising the booking with Chris was straight forward followed with the helpful meet and greet with Alex. When we pulled up to the property, the house looks like a small cottage, very well presented and welcoming. Inside the house is very homely with beautiful interior and very well equipped for your needs.

We were a bit concerned after reading a negative review on here so close to our booking, the only concern that we identify was a very small number of curtains had been scorched in the sun. Did that affect our stay in this beautiful property? Not at all.

This is by far the best property we have stayed in over the past 7 years and will be returning next year. We as a family had so much fun in the pool and there are lots to see and do in the surrounding area. Alex's local knowledge was helpful as she suggested a few attractions age specific for our children.

Overall we are delighted to have found a great place to enjoy some family time. Thank you Chris and Alex

A little gem in the countryside

  • 5 of 5

Used owner Direct previously and booking the property was simple and easy - was met by Alex who showed me around the building and give instruction on how to use appliances etc.

The property when you pull up looks like a cottage, but once you are inside it opens up over the three floors. Alex and Chris have obviously made this little gem homely and it is well furnished throughout. The master bedroom is large and the bed was very comfortable, ensuring a goodnight sleep. The bath in the second bedroom pleased my grand daughter who loved having a bath before bed. The other bedrooms were well furnished.

The kitchen is well equipped and there is plenty pf room for all to sit around the kitchen table.

We did not use the dining room every night but it was a lovely relaxing room, The lounge was welcoming and the family enjoyed spending time there playing games and watching films

Everyone loved the pool area -and it was lovely to be able to go and have swim at any time and the hot tub was lovely especially at night with a glass of wine

Plenty of wood available for the lounge fire - which warmed the lounge within minutes

There are plenty of walk in the area and the local pub / restaurant is friendly and the menu is varied -also a local Indian Restaurant delivers

I am sure that anyone who books into the Watermill will have a fab time

Alex was very helpful and went above and beyond the expected duties

Thank you Chris and Alex for enabling us to have a lovely family holiday

Tucked away in beautiful Welsh countryside

  • 5 of 5

The owners of this property have turned what used to be an old watermill into a wonderful spacious yet exceptionally homely and comfortable place to stay. We planned our family visit here to meet up with our relatives and having such a lovely background and more than adequate facilities this was a really happy time for us. We arrived well stocked with plenty of provisions for our visit and there was a huge country style kitchen more than adequately equipped to cater for our little gathering. Blessed with good weather we sat on the terrace in the sun and there was no shortage of comfortable garden furniture to accommodate us all.

Our granddaughters especially enjoyed the swimming pool which was a great facility with a warm clean changing room and separate toilet. We loved the hot tub, which we didn't expect to use in mid October but it was quite a wonderful experience.

We had a few grand dining experiences sitting in the beautiful dining room but as a family we are used to congregating in the kitchen which here has a very cosy dining area amongst the historical mill workings which are quite fascinating and which create charm and a sense of history to the whole building.

The lounge likewise has been tastefully renovated to include the mill workings but has lovely modern touches and such comfortable sofas .

The two bedrooms on the top floor are very grand and I was so glad I arrived before my daughter as I had first choice, definitely the one with the massive window overlooking the countryside and Autumn colours. She however wasn't at all disappointed with her room it had a beautiful round bath!

The girls loved their family room and the room next door was very convenient for my brother and his wife who liked being close to the lounge and their bathroom.

We spent our week visiting many of the attractions which are all quite close by. The pub up the road in the village is very good and we had a few drinks and early evening suppers there.

All in all a great stay for us and one with very happy memories. I would definitely recommend this place as somewhere to be with and meet up with family...comfortable, spacious, well equipped, historical and homely all wrapped up in Wales. Thank you Alex and Chris.

Perfect country home

  • 5 of 5

My family, mixture of adults and children enjoyed a fun week at this beautiful home. We all enjoyed the tub and pool so much we hardly left the place! There was everything you could need and want from a home and more. We forgot our baby bath But thankfully there was already one in the house which we were able to use.

As a family we loved the living room, kitchen and dining room for all being able to be together in the same room with so much space.

We are already planning to return next year.

Wonderful unique property...all home comforts and then some!

  • 5 of 5

We were 3 generations of family, ranging from 9 to 70...all of us equally enjoyed the house and leisure facilities. The house is huge yet feels so homely, the swimming pool is fab along wit the hot tub. Really lovely unspoilt location, very quiet and rural but 5 min walk to lovely pub and forest walks, and supermarkets and town in easy reach. A really enjoyable relaxing break in luxury ...hope to be back one day!
