This cosy apartment has the BEST LOCATION in city center Reykjavik. Very safe and quiet neighborhood, in old but trendy houses, popular neighborhood in Reykjavík. Only 4 minutes walk to the main shopping street; Laugavegur. This apartment is very bright and cozy. It was renewed at large part in February 2013, with new beautiful floors, new bedroom cabinets, new painted walls, and the bathroom was also renewed completely only few years ago, with bathtub and shower, fully tiled, Especially clean, nice and quiet accommodation. But still close to everything you want to experience in Reykjavik. The master bedroom has one double bed and one single bed, and the other room(the livingroom) has a double sofabed.
Both rooms has a door to close, so it is actually 2 bedrooms. it is also possible to add a small bed(A CRIB) for babies under 3 years old.
The living room has a tv, dvd. And a dining table for 4.
A nice swimming pool (also hot tubs)is at the next street corner, 3 min walk. In the city center you will find a lot of great restaurants, museums, shops (and many beautiful Icelandic designers shops) and bars, who many has a live music every night.

The harbour is near by, beautyful walking path to it along the sea.
10-11 supermarket is only 5 min walk away, open 24hours, at Laugavegur.
Another bigger and cheaper supermarket called Bonus is also on Laugavegur,
8-10 minutes walk.
This apartment is great located if you like to travel without renting car :)
(But if you choose to have a car, there is a parking space in front of the house)
You have everything within a walking distance, also the bus station HLEMMUR is 4 min walk away.
The bigger bus station BSI, ( where the bus from the airport stops ) is about 10 min away.
Sight seeing bus is during summer, its a nice way to see Reykjavík in a 2hours bus-trip.
'Perlan' , the glass house we have on one of our pictures here.
On the top floor is a great restaurant, and actually the floor is turning while you sit and enjoy dinner, one circle per hour :)
And also there so many things to see, many day trips you can take with a bus from BSI.

Beautyful, clean and comfortable, and very well equipped apartment. Bedsheets, towels, soap and shampoo are included the price, as well as wireless internet.
THE BEST LOCATION, for people who want to be in the center of Reykjavík, and have everything in a walking distance, but still be able to come home at night and have a nice and quiet evening.
Also great location to travel from, bus -stations are in a walking distance.
My daughter and I very much enjoyed our stay in Helena's rental apartment. It was clean, the kitchen was fully stocked and fully equipped. The location is ideal for walking on Laugavegur, going to the public pool, using the city buses and going on the tours. We did everything that was on our checklist. Thanks again Helena for our pleasant stay!
Helena, our hostess, was very helpful and accommodating. The apartment, as stated, is perfectly located for a stay in Reykjavik. It is very central to walk everywhere in the city and is easily accessible to all of the main roads. The apartment is perfect for 2 - warm and well appointed. We would most certainly recommend contacting Helena for a place to stay on your visit to Reykjavik!
This apartment was a perfect place to stay in Reykjavik--only a five minute walk from the Hlemmur bus station and the main shopping street of Laugavegur (the Bonus supermarket and a wonderful bakery are on this street). It's also very walkable to all the sights in downtown Reykjavik. Best of all, it was warm and comfortable, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The washer/dryer was also much appreciated. We stayed a week and never regretted a moment.
We stayed in Reykjavik from 4 to 12 June 2015 and all the time in Helenas cozy flat.
It has everything you need and we could even sleep separately (small double bed and sofa).
The apartment is perfectly situated: downtown and everything is in walking distance.
None of the tour operators (We recommend GeoIceland, Lost in Iceland, Grayline, SpecialTours and Solhestar.) had problems finding us.
If you don´t rent a car, book your day tours in advance; there is so much to see and not every tour is offered on every day of the week.
Especially GeoIceland has fantastic guides: so much information and so many extras other operators do not offer.
The apartment was very clean & tidy and looked exactly as on the photos.
If you are not used to the midnight sun, bring a sleeping mask, and note the short opening times of the nearby cheap supermarket (Bonus).
And warm clothes! 10°C in Iceland are not the same as 10°C in Germany! It may sound exaggerated but bring gloves & scarf and your warmest winter jackets! Waterproof clothes are essential, even rain trousers.
The washing machine and the dryer are downstairs (all the time accessible).
Helena is a very nice and polite landlady. She replies fast to e-mails and does everything to make you feel comfortable.
By the way, the airport is in Keflavik, which means 1h drive.
You can get there by bus (The bus, however, waits very long at the airport.).
2 public bus stations are nearby and for exploring the city, the Reykjavik City Card is recommendable.
An American restaurant (Again beware of the short opening times; at 21.30, they didn´t let us in.) is just across the street (Roadhouse).
Returning every evening to a holiday apartment is recommendable because it saves you from the stress of packing your luggage (and maybe forgetting items).
If you don´t have a car and you want to see much of the country (mainly south & west), book bus tours. There you get so see very much and some tours are quite demanding, too. A lot of walking & hiking involved! The buses are comfortable and if you have a bigger budget, you can book private superjeep tours.
Don´t forget the whale & puffin tours!
Riding is also suitable for complete beginners; I have been riding for over 20 years and my boyfriend only sat a few times on my horse and we were both fascinated.
Iceland is a beautiful country; even if you usually go to hot beaches, try this out! I wasn´t convinced before but the first glance at Reykjavik was enough: We will come back!
Helena's was very accommodating and always quick to reply whenever I had any questions. The apartment itself is very clean and well-kept complete with all of your home comforts (including cooking utensils, books and magazines, extra blankets, etc.). The location is perfect - within a 5 min. walk to the Hallgrimskirkja church and to one of the city's main shopping streets, Skólavörðustígur. The water is easily within walking distance, too.
I hands down recommend this apartment! When I return to Reykjavik, Helena will be the first person I will contact :)
Near city center, and the famous church Hallgrimskirkja (5 min). 2 min walk to the nearest swimming pool, and the main shopping street, Laugavegur, is only 2 min away. A beautiful path on the beach side near by. Many museums, restaurants and bars, and various shops, including number of Icelandic designers shops.
