The cottage was delightful. Peaceful, well equipped and in a lovely location. We will come again!
We would highly recommend this cottage. Well equipped and hidden away, so peaceful. You will need a car, but everything you need is a short drive away. Organisation was easy with Gill who is so easy to deal with.
The cottage is delightful and well equipped. If you are looking for tranquility and charm, this is the place for you. Thank you Gill.

Thanks so much for your comments. Glad you appreciated the cottage and its surroundings.
Lovely, quiet village get-away.
Zoe Cottage is in a very quiet village about 10 minutes drive up from the coastal road at Chrani, so as the description says, you need a car. It is incredibly quiet there and very picturesque.
The cottage itself is very tastefully furnished and has everything you need. We did need the mosquito net and plenty of repellent! It was extremely clean and the bed was very comfortable. I loved making use of the hammock on the patio every afternoon.
There are lots of tavernas in Chrani and two supermarkets. If you like the beach there are several areas to choose from along the coast road and if you like antiquities you are spoilt for choice. There are lovely ports with castles such as Koroni and Methoni; Messini and Nestor's Palace (archaeological sites) are within fairly easy driving distance. There is a lovely nature reserve not too far away where we saw flamingos and birds of prey. The whole area was delightful, with olive groves on green grass everywhere.
I would highly recommend the property and the area.
Lovely, slightly quirky, very peaceful cottage.
We really wanted to get away from it all and chill out on holiday this year and we weren't disappointed.
Gill was a pleasure to deal with and booking was a smooth and easy process. Directions were excellent and everything was ready for us.
The village is quite remote and very quiet and the cottage is at the end of dead-end lane, so no passing traffic noise. There's a sheltered terrace in front with comfortable furniture.
The internal layout is quite unusual and is mainly open-plan. The double bed is in an alcove off the living area and there's a separate, small twin-bedded room. They beds are quite comfortable and plenty of bedding and pillows are available. The bathroom (with a good water heater) is also off the living area. The weather was still quite warm and the air-conditioning was welcome at night.
The accommodation is compact and basic, but that's not a criticism. Everything was clean and in good working order and met all of our needs perfectly. Had there been any problem the very helpful, english-speaking Stephan was on hand to help.
We had an extremely relaxing, stress-free holiday and have no complaints at all about Zoe Cottage. We've rented many self-catering cottages and this was one of the nicest and certainly the best value for money by a long way.
I'm so glad you had a good holiday and appreciated the cottage. Thanks for your comments which I'm sure will be helpful to future guests.
away from it all, but comfortable. Great if you want some rest in a beautiful surrounding
We loved to stay in the cottage. Nice and quiet. Up the hill, so you need your car to drive to the village on the coast for swimming and shopping. Its nicely located alas without a good view of the bay. Property is not big but has all you need , is clean reasonably well maintained. If you don't mind that you have to drive to the villagers is perfect place to stay, relax on the porch and drink some wine.
The are plenty of things to do in the surrounding areas. You can even rent a boat in the nearby port of Agios Konstantinos for a day sailing.
A delightful place in the hills
The cottage is charming and quite perfect for a small family. The area is quiet and surrounded by beautiful hills just a few minutes drive away from the sea.
Thanks Olivier, you summed it up beautifully.
Very beautiful/romantic/relaxing place for a stay in the area! Complete silence apart from the noises of the sea, some dogs of the village and the crickets chirruping in the evening.
The cottage has everything one needs as a basic but very coherent equipment, nice mediterranean design. Down the mountain is Chrani where you find 2 little supermarkets - but you might want to shop your groceries in some of the various other (greek) supermarkets in the neighbour villages or little stalls at the streets.
Rent a car as small as possible and you`ll have a lot of fun driving! ;)
Starting from an half hour trip up to a two hour drive you`ll reach lots and lots of terrific smaller and bigger villages, towns, sights, beaches and antique excavations.
- Definitively go and visit Ancient Messene! If you want to have a tasty and still inexpensive dinner at the sea, go to Agios Andreas and visit hotel/restaurant Aggelos.
If you want to have a quiet day at the area, just go down the hill through the olive groves and visit a small abandoned village...
And anyways, you`ll find a lot of things to do and see and then come back to this small peaceful place and just enjoy yourself on the terrace.
We stayed as 2 adults and a 4 year old and it fitted perfectly, a second child would also easily fit.
If you think about visiting the Peloponnes - this is one of the best places to stay!
PS: Only thing missing: a little oven/grill! :)
Thanks Johanna for your wonderful description of the cottage and surrounding area. I will be considering how an oven/ grill could fit in the kitchen area - a couple of other guests made the same suggestion.
Beaches are 10 minutes drive downhill from the cottage.
The nearest airport is Kalamata which is a 40 minute drive from the property.
