With two spacious bedrooms upstairs, both with their own en-suite facility, the cottage can accommodate up to four guests, with a shower room on the ground floor a handy additional facility. The lounge with wood burner offers a cosy place to unwind at the end of the day, or you might prefer to relax in the reading area in the separate dining room, & the kitchen is well equipped with everything required for self catering. A lawned garden to the rear is enclosed & secluded and a shed is also available for those wishing to take advantage of the quiet Dales roads and bring their own bikes. The village has a pub serving food, an excellent deli & even a castle, once home to Henry VIII’s last & surviving wife. The village is well situated between Masham, gateway to the Dales & the Georgian market town of Bedale.

Clean, tidy and well presented

  • 4 of 5

Lovely cottage situated in a very pretty village with a lot of areas wiithin a short drive which means you don't have to travel too far to find something to see. Thorp Perrow is on the doorstep which is well worth a visit and the Wensleydale railway an easy trip, parking in nearby Bedale. There are also nice pubs nearby for eating out and plenty of walks in the local area..

This is a beautifully renovated property in a really lovely village. Easy to find the village has its own quiet and welcoming pub (we went in once a day under the pretence of buying our 4 year old an ice cream!) and a stream running through. It also has a lovely Deli for fresh fruit and veg and touches of some of the finer things in life! The cottage is a stones-throw from both the pub and shop. Standing detached on a corner it's an attractive first sight and the interior lives up to first expectations. The two bedrooms are beautiful and the en suites lovely. In fact if you went as two couples they're really wouldn't be any fighting over who got the best bedroom ( it happens ! ). Kitchen is well appointed and overlooks the huge enclosed and private garden (plenty of different al fresco look outs, weather permitting). Big lounge and a great dining room cum quiet reading area. We had a tremendous week. The only *tiny* drawback was the lack of wi fi but I suppose I've that's a defining criteria for holiday! the Yorkshire dales may not be for you!

It's given its name to one of Britain's finest cheeses, but Wensleydale has so much more to offer. This is the valley of the River Ure, part of the Yorkshire Dales National Park and a popular destination for walkers and hikers. Roseview is situated at the eastern end of this famous valley

As well as the rolling landscape of the valley itself, Wensleydale is overlooked by the distinctive flat- topped hill of Addlebrough, above the village of Bainbridge and Penhill, which stands guard over Leyburn. Wensleydale's dramatic scenery is dotted with ancient towns and villages, offering a great range of shops, pubs and tea rooms.

Hawes, at the head of the valley, is the centre of the famous cheese-making industry as well as rope- making, while Hardraw is home to Hardraw Force, one of the highest waterfalls in England.

At Aysgarth, the River Ure tumbles down a limestone staircase at the beauty spot known as Aysgarth Falls.

There are many other fascinating towns and villages in the valley; hidden treasures abound as the Ure flows eastwards. Middleham, with its castle, was the childhood home of Richard III while at West Burton, you can visit the famous Cat Pottery.

Although a walker's paradise, tired feet can let the train take the strain with a trip on the Wensleydale Railway. Heritage steam and diesel trains run along 17 miles of line between Redmire and Leeming Bar at the eastern end of the dale.

The Georgian market town of Bedale is around 3 miles away & offers a wide selection of shops, tea rooms & pubs along with the town of Masham, 4 miles away, which has two breweries to explore & holds various seasonal events. Excellent footpath walks and cycle routes can be discovered in the area, with the heart of the National Park easily accessed.

Tour De France

The world's greatest cycle race - the Tour de France - began in the world's greatest county on 5th & 6th July 2014 bringing millions of fans to the Yorkshire roadside to cheer on the champions of the sport.

The route passes just 3 miles from Roseview on day 1 and on day 2 cyclists started in Harrogate, 18 miles away.

It was the first time Le Tour has visited the north of England and a festival and a spectacle for fans and first timers alike. Yorkshire gave rise to occasion and give the riders, the teams and the race organisers a Grand Départ to remember.
