Immaculate 3 bedroomed Cottage in Lymington, New Forest, Hampshire Conveniently Located in the Heart Of Picturesque Lymington close to Forest & Beach

The cottage is ideal for a 3 day weekend break or for your week or longer holiday as changeover days are normally Friday &/or Monday. It is in a great location giving you an easy 3 minute walk to the picturesque town quay with its bars, shops and harbour views, or up the Highstreet for the shops, restaurents & pubs. Parking for two cars on the drive. This cottage offers a perfect base to explore the New Forest or visit the local beaches. You can take a ferry to Isle of Wight by foot or with your car.

This 3 bedroomed accommodation is designed to be versatile so that you can have 3 double bedrooms or variations of one or two double rooms and 2 or 4 singles beds. The downstairs has a 'Snug' area with a cosy wood burner plus a separate sitting room with double patio doors to the courtyard providing easy and relaxed living.

The garden is enclosed and private with patio furniture areas in sun or shade.

we are happy to welcome well behaved children and dogs - please clear up after them!

We are within easy reach of a golf club, beaches, sailing to see or have lessons!, horse riding, cycling, walking or simply sipping a cool drink at a pub whilst watching the sun go down over the river.

Lymington hosts an busy market on Saturdays which includes local produce, clothing artisan and other stalls. Just down the road is Beaulieu Abbey and Beaulieu village with the famous motor museum or visit the wonderful Exbury gardens for Azalea's, Rhododendrons and other beautiful shrubs.

The cottage has its own little laundry with a washing machine and tumble drier. there is a small ironing board with iron, and hairdryers in both main bedrooms. The Bathroom has an electric razor point.

Notes on accommodation: The open plan design downstairs gives a spacious light and airy feel to the house. The stairs are original cottage design so are quite steep and may be hard for those with limited mobility and young families. The house is centrally heated as well as the fabulous log burner and we include a basket of logs for the cooler months. We are happy to offer week long or short breaks in mid to low season -the cottage is beautifully warm and has double glazing so ideal for winter get-away weeks or for those who like taking time away outside the school holidays. If you are interested in local flora and fauna the New Forest Rangers offer some interesting guided walks see the national park site. You can reach the town centre or town quay by a short walk of 3 - 5 minutes! Please contact owner if guests are bringing children under 5 years of age. Strictly NO Smoking in the Cottage. Maximum of 2 dogs welcome Outside: Off road parking for two cars on the front of the property. Please note we cannot park at the side since this drive belongs to our neighbour and she needs access at all times. We do own the walkway to the side gate and you are welcome to use it. The rear enclosed garden is very private and split into two adjoining courtyards offering a sunny Mediterranean feel near the house and a more country garden and shady area at the rear. There is a table, chairs with sun shade. Please bring your own disposable BBQ if you wish. Utility Room: Washing machine and tumble dryer. Vacuum cleaner, floor dust mop etc. Ironing board, Iron and clothes airer. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are included. (please bring your own beach towels). End of rental clean is included, more frequent cleaning and linen change can be arranged if required at additional cos

Fantastic cottage, spotlessly clean and thoughtfully furnished

My family and I stayed at Rosetta cottage for 3 nights at the end of October half term. We were very lucky with the weather which allowed us the enjoy the local beaches and walks in the sunshine!

The cottage is a real find located in the town centre, close to the train station, local amenities whilst still being in a quiet area.

The cottage itself is so lovely, it's been tastefully decorated and so clean. Ken and his family have added some lovely touches such as board games, a welcome basket, magazines and wood for the log burner. The kitchen is very well equipped, and there is a great courtyard garden to the rear with patio table and chairs.

We will most definitely be returning soon, we really did not want to leave!

Charming cottage

A lovely stay for five days. Ken was very communicative coming up to our stay and always responded promptly. The cottage was clean and very well kept with a fresh seaside theme throughout. Plenty of space for kids to play also with a courtyard. Very close to Lymington high street with great places to eat and shop. Nights we didn't want to eat out we would stay in and cook. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything needed and everything was easy to use. Plenty of books and games in the snug to keep everyone entertained! Thanks for a lovely week and hope to come back soon.

Comfortable, well equipped holiday home

This proved to be an ideal holiday home. Just a short walk from the quay and High Street, and a useful base for days out.

As dog owners, we really appreciated the fully enclosed garden and wooden floors downstairs.

We would recommend this property without any hesitation.

About Ken Walton

As a retired sports person, I was looking for a place to take the family. The New Forest and South Coast has always been our favourite holiday destination for the family and our dogs.

This lovely Lymington Cottage just fitted our dream vision due to its close proximity to the New Forest National Park, and South Coast. We can now choose from walks along the beach, paddling and sunbathing, or Forest walks and market town shopping. We love the diversity on offer in the area but most of all we love eating good food and enjoying each others company. We hope you will too.

After loving family visits to Lymington we bought and renovated this property to have a 'get away' place for ourselves. However our children (25 - 35 year olds!) love going down with their friends too.

Rosetta cottage is fortunate to have a wonderful local House keeper who is on hand not just to keep the place looking so clean and tidy but also to help with any unexpected problems.

We hope you will enjoy the property and the surrounding area as much as we do and will find yourselves rested and ready for life after each visit. For me I like nothing better than sitting with a cool drink in the garden on a lovely summer evening enjoying deciding where to walk to eat.

We are having such a lovely time here at Rosetta Cottage we were wondering if we could stay an extra night.

Nearest beach is Keyhaven 4 miles

Barton on Sea 6.6 miles. Highcliffe is a lovely Sandy Beach 7.2 miles.

You can walk from Keyhaven (4 miles drive) to Hurst Castle on a lovely raised spit. We love to blow the cobwebs from our hair there. The walk can take about 2 hours but well worth it and you can always stop at the castle with a picnic. There is a ferry back to Keyhaven if you fancy a different route back but check sailing times.

Bournemouth beach is 19 miles great day out.


Nearest airport is Bournemouth (but Southampton is easy too).

Waterloo Station, London has direct Train line to Brockenhurst (4.5 miles away) and has regular connections to Lymington station branch line so you can leave London and be here in approximately 2 hours. You do not need a car, there are buses that travel to all surrounding areas - Station for train and buses in easy walking distance.


Lyndhurst is 8.6 miles (visit Alice in Wonderland's grave) Brockenhurst is 4.5, Beaulieu is 6.3 miles away and Southampton 18.6. Sandy beaches of Christchurch and Bournemouth and Boscombe are only 30 to 40 minutes away and the Chewton Glen is 20 minutes drive.

Further Details:

The property is within walking distance of several lovely pubs or restaurants and the Fish and Chip shop on the High Street is outstanding.

You can choose from fishy menu at the Ship in on the Quay, Minster pies at the pub round the corner and many other options. We like to wander along Waterloo Road into Mill lane and from there either onto the old cobbled street or short riverside walk to the quay.

Lymington town has Waitrose, Marks and Spencer and Tesco's supermarkets plus good take aways.
