The Gallery is a spacious Grade II listed Georgian house retaining many of its lovely original features including beautiful large open fireplaces within the living and dining rooms, stained glass windows to various rooms and private gardens with plenty of off road parking. The house has a welcoming eclectic feel with a mixture of differing period furnishings, flowing floor to ceiling curtains, chandeliers and modern works of art scattered throughout the house giving The Gallery its name and individual personality.

Situated in a Conservation Area within Gosport on The South Coast the house is suitable for groups of any size for long or short breaks and the fun eclectic feel makes it suitable for all groups including families, special get togethers, hen parties and well behaved bachelor groups. Positioned on the Gosport side of the Historic Portsmouth Harbour you are also only a short 4 minute ferry ride away from Portsmouth and Gunwharf Quays which is a fantastic vibrant waterfront complex with over 90 designer retail outlets, 30 odd cafes, restaurants, bistros and bars plus a 14 screen Vue Cinema, Bowling Alley, Casino, Jongleurs Comedy Club, Tiger Tiger nightclub and the iconic Spinnaker Tower all set around the harbour quayside.

The house features 5 well proportioned double bedrooms with kingsize double or single beds fully made up for your arrival with crisp white linen and fresh white towels provided on beds for each guest plus an additional 2 people can be accommodated within a separate section of the large lounge on a sofa bed with cots and highchairs available on request.

The splendid 30 foot living room with it's original fireplaces, mixed period furniture and large floor to ceiling windows is the main hub of the ground floor overlooking the front and rear gardens and a large flatscreen plasma TV, Ipod docking station and Wi-Fi is provided for your entertainment plus the original Georgian internal wooden doors allow the added option to create two separate living rooms or a 6th bedroom if desired.

The separate dining room seating up to 20 has another original open marble fireplace overlooking the front garden and is off the main entrance hallway opposite the modern kitchen which is fitted with a large 5 ring oven and hob, a generously sized American style fridge/freezer, a microwave, dishwasher and all essential mod cons plus the separate utility room houses the washing machine and tumble dryer.

There are 3 bathroom/shower rooms available, one shower room on the ground floor and the main bathroom and another shower room on the 1st floor half landing. All linen and towels are provided and are changed weekly with a mid week maid service available on request. If cots are requested we ask if guests can please bring their own child's bedding please.

Outside the mature gardens and lawns front and rear are there for all to enjoy with picnic tables and there is plenty of off road parking for up to 6 vehicles, boat and trailer plus the house is pet friendly and warmly welcomes well behaved four legged guests.

Our prices advertised are for up to 18 people but we can accommodate a few more people within the bedrooms on futon style bed cubes and 2 more people on a double bed settee within the large 2 sectioned lounge which can be divided off to create a smaller lounge and a 6th bedroom with the additional guests over 18 being charged at a rate of £25 per week/part week per head or we charge £25 per extra set of linen requested.

Just off the shoreline can be found the Isle of Wight and opposite is Gosport, a focus for both windsurfers and yachtsmen. Hampshire is also home to the famous National Motor Museum at Beaulieu, bundles of picturesque villages and some of Britain’s most enchanting castles and great houses. The more modern city of Southampton lies on the edge of the New Forest and offers fantastic mall shopping in West Quay.

'The Gallery' is a 5 minute drive to Gosport town centre and Portsmouth Harbour plus Stokes Bay Beach looking out over The Solent with views over to the Isle of Wight or you are a short drive to Lee on Solent and Hillhead beaches where you are likely to find the windsurfers, kite surfers and jet skiers. With 24 miles of waterfront and fantastic viewing points you don’t have to wander far to find the sea or you can also hop on a ferry for the 4 min ride to Portsmouth or the Isle Of Wight beyond.

The nearest airports are Southampton, approximately 30km away, or Bournemouth, around 80km, and Gatwick and Heathrow are the nearest London airports. You can train into Portsmouth Harbour and hop straight on the 4 minute ferry to Gosport where we are situated approximately 1km away from the terminal or alternatively into Fareham which is 7.5km from the house.

The house is situated close to historic Portsmouth Harbour with its naval connections going back to Henry VIII, whose flagship the Mary Rose sank just outside Portsmouth Harbour in 1545 but was raised in the early 80's and is now being restored in the dockyard which is also home to Nelson's famous flagship HMS Victory 1765 and the first iron hulled warship HMS Warrior 1860. Hampshire is not just all about coastline and is proud to be one of Britains most unspoilt counties, home to the New Forest National Park plus part of the glorious chalk based hills of the South Downs. The National Motor Museum at Beaulieu and Hampshires other maritime city of Southampton are within the Hampshire boundary and Winchester was the 9th Century Saxon Capital of King Alfred's Kingdom, which are all within easy distance of the house.

If dining out is your choice we also have a number of fine local restaurants, some with great coastal views and Gunwharf Quays has over 30 waterfront cafes/bars/bistros and restaurants where you can sit and watch the comings and goings in the harbour. If you wish to stay on the bars at Gunwharf continue into the night and Tiger Tiger nightclub is open until the early hours with a late night ferry to bring you home to Gosport. The mature garden and lawn to the rear is there to enjoy with picnic tables. There is plenty of off road parking for up to 6 vehicles, boat and trailer plus the house is pet friendly and warmly welcomes well behaved four legged guests. The separate utility room is opposite the ground floor shower room and houses the washing machine, tumble dryer, iron and ironing board etc. All linen and towels are provided and are changed weekly with a mid week maid service available on request. Child’s cots and high chairs are also available at no cost but we ask if guests can please bring their own child's bedding please. The lounge can be used as one super large living area or the original Georgian internal wooden doors can allow the added option to create two separate living rooms or a 6th ground floor bedroom if desired.
