I live in Newcastle in the picturesque village of Tynemouth with my Greek husband and 3 daughters.
We are sun worshippers and don't get enough of it in Tynemouth, as beautiful as it is.
Rhodes makes up for that!
Joy Trakkas purchased this villa in 2009
We fell in love with the island of Rhodes, having visited friends and family there and decided to have our own property in the South of the island as it is extremely beautiful and unspoilt, but not remote!
The highlights of the villas has to be the tranquillity of the site, whilst accessibility to shops, tavernas, beaches and water sports is convenient.
The glittering stars in the night sky are something truly unique here, and to sit on the upper veranda sipping an early evening glass of local champagne gazing at them is indescribably magical.
The panoramic view of Gennadi Bay beyond the little white washed church of St. Raphael is awe inspiring. Early morning sun rises are an experience not to be missed!
We took Villa Nicole for 10 days in May 2013 and had a fab holiday. The villa is in a very quiet and peaceful spot - as it is up a private track but still only a few minutes drive to Gennadi village and the beach. The views are superb, sea to the front and the mountains at the back. Although it is in a development of 4 villas they all face in different directions so we never felt overlooked.
On arrival we found everything to be clean and comfortable and the villa had everything we needed. The pool was a good size and there was a bottle of local wine and a bowl of fresh fruit to welcome us.
We would not hesitate to recommend the villas to family and friends and shall definitely be staying here next time we are on Rhodes - Matt from Sheffield.
The best holiday we've ever had. Highlights included swimming at Gennadi beach, so secluded and unspoilt, and sampling fresh Greek food locally. We felt so relaxed at the villa. Feel truly revitalised! Dulcie and Will from Buckinghamshire.

Villa Phoebe was exactly what we needed, peaceful and quiet with stunning views! The villa provided everything we needed. We would definitely recommend it and Joy the owner was really helpful in recommending places to eat and sights to see. We look forward to coming back soon!
From the moment we contacted the owner Joy to book the villa to the end of the holiday we could not have had better customer service. The description of the villa was accurate and Joy helped us with booking a car and gave us top tips for visits, shops, beaches and restaurants - we followed all her guidance even down to restaurant menus and we were never disappointed.
The facilities at the villa are excellent for a comfortable stay, clean and very well maintained, we made good use of the excellent BBQ. The pool was fantastic great size and kept very clean. For us the location of the villa made this such a great relaxing holiday. It is located on the hill above Gennadi in a quiet and relaxing location with stunning views over the sea, it was difficult to move from by the pool. We would recommend a car when staying at the villa.
We travelled round most of the island and particularly enjoyed the stunning drive through the mountains. We also had an excellent day trip to the Island of Symi with its beautiful streets and a great atmosphere. It was very hot and we enjoyed a dip in the sea there at the end of the day. Rhodes town and Lindos were also other great days out. We enjoyed a cool walk down the "Valley of the Butterflies" having taken the little train up to the top.
We tried all the restaurants that Joy recommended we particularly enjoyed Mama's Kitchen, Sergio's both in Gennadi and Stefanos in Kiotari.
Spent time on some lovely beaches including Gennadi, Glystra, Lindos and Port Antico.
Joy was great whilst we were out there keeping us updated on cleaner visits etc as well as more top tips. We have never had such excellent customer service from an owner before.
We had a great relaxing holiday with our teenage son. I would recommend this property without hesitation, lovely villa, stunning location and outstanding customer service from the owner. We had never visited Rhodes before but loved the island and we will definitely be back to Rhodes and the villa again.
We loved Villa Sophie so much last year we have just booked again for this Summer! The owner Joy Trakkas was extremely helpful with all our questions about the property and all were answered honestly and truthfully. The villa was well equipped with wonderful views from the bedrooms and the pool area. The small village down the road had all you needed with bakery, greengrocer and supermarket. Both the restuarants which were recommened by Joy were very reasonably priced, excellent food and very friendly service. We would not hesitate in recommending this villa to both family and friends.
We spent 5 nights in August 2013 in Villa Sophie. The house has a wonderful view of South east coast of Rhodes. The location was nice because even it's very easy to reach to Gennadi village and also wonderful beaches of south-east by car, the place is very quite and it was wonderful to see the milkyway and all stars again :) The house was clean, everything was enough. Joy, our lovely house owner was very helpful from the beginning. We'd like to come Villa Sophie again.. Thanks Joy!
Gennadi Bay has a blue flag award with a distance of 2 minutes by car, from the villas. It has very clear, warm water with shingle and pebbles and is never spoilt by crowds of people. It boasts 3 good tavernas for tasty meals and refreshments. Kiotari is 4km away and has sandy beaches, good tavernas, great bars and glass-bottomed boats. Prassonissi is 20km away and has fantastic facilities for all water sports.
Diagoras International Airport is 45 minutes away by car (roughly 60kms) as is the infamous Old Town of Rhodes. It is possible to hire taxis from the airport, with a cost of about 70 euros. Buses are also available, however it is recommended to hire a car in order to make the most of your stay.
Gennadi Bay and village are 1 mile away, and Lindos, with its sandy beaches and medieval Acropolis is 25km North (15 mins by car)- the unique and beautiful Old Town is 65km North. Traditional Rhodian villages, Vati, Lahania, Pefkos and Lardos are all in the very near vicinity.
Prassonissi (where the Aegean sea meets the Mediterranean sea) with its wonderful refreshing sea-breezes, makes for excellent wind/kite surfing and is only a 20 minute drive away.
In the village of Gennadi, there is an excellent bakery, pharmacist, green grocer and small supermarket. There are numerous tavernas serving local fayre, Mama's Kitchen being a firm favourite, there are beach front tavernas also serving good quality, local cuisine, and drinks.
The West Coast of the island boasts many interesting places to visit from the ruins of a castle at Kastello near Kritinia, to the castle at Monolithos, steeped in romanticism set on top of a rock. The jewel in the crown has to be the Old Town, 45 minutes drive away, with its wonderful history from ancient Greece, Byzantine, Turkish mosques to the Knights of Saint John and medieval Christian churches.
