Situated on a quiet country road you can enjoy views of the Atlantic and Aran islands to the front. The rear of the house provides a haven of tranquillity with its' meandering stream that runs through the rear of the property surrounded by a beautiful array of wild fuchsia and gorse. 5 min drive to Doolin pier and many restaurants and pubs for traditional music. 10 min drive to cliffs of Moher, Doolin cave and nearby Burren national park, Aillwee cave and birds of prey. This make an ideal base for walking enthusiasts. Self guided walks or guided walks can all be arranged locally.
This is my home for 6 months of the year. My work takes me away for the summer months. I'm sure you'll enjoy my house as much as I do.
Ann Doherty purchased this cottage in 2006
I grew up in this area and I built this house in 2006 because I loved the site and remember visiting it when I was a kid
I love to go for walks towards Doonagore Castle down to Doolin beach to watch the sunset or along the coast walkway to Cliffs of Moher.
Situated on a quiet road, ideal for walking or cycling, yet only 10 to 15 min walk to restaurants, pubs and shops
This was our first trip to Ireland. We have rented numerous properties on VRBO, but this one far exceeds any of the others. The house was immaculate and well furnished. Having a vegan in the family, we seek houses with good kitchens so we can prepare our own meals. The spacious and modern kitchen made meal preparation a charm. The hostess/owner, Ann, far exceeds any other I have ever encountered. She is kind, warm, generous and accommodating. She had a starter package of groceries for us and a warm apple crumble awaiting our arrival. She made us feel at home immediately. The house is in a great location close to Doolin village and walking trails, but far enough away to be out of the tourist traffic. We were awakened each morning by the mooing of cows and delighted in the wonderful sunsets seen from the house in a quiet, tranquil setting. I cannot say enough about the property or the hostess....both far exceed all expectations. Thank-you Ann for allowing us to share your home. We'll definitely be back.
We absolutely loved our stay! This was our first time using HomeAway, but it will not be our last. Our host and owner Ann, was so gracious and accommodating. The house is beautiful, and so relaxing with views of the Aran Islands. The first morning we were awakened by a cuckoo bird, which is a first. There were even ring-necked pheasant in the side yard. From the welcoming breakfast and apple pie, to the well appointed kitchen, we lacked for nothing. We would gladly book with Ann again, should we return a third time to Ireland! The house is centrally located on the west coast, within easy driving distance of Connemara and Galway, Cork, and Dingle. Of course it's within walking distance of Doolin, and a short drive to The Cliffs of Mohr and Lisdoonvarna. Be sure to check out the sheep dog herding demonstration at the Caherconnell Stone Fort in The Burren.
Thank you again Ann.
The house is beautifully appointed and we loved every minute of our stay. A cot and stair gate was provided without charge. Ann is lovely and can inform on any aspect on amenities and countryside. The house is within walking distance (10 mins) of Doolin village and 2 potential routes down to the coast add interest. Wild birdlife is rampant and lovely to observe along the way. I'm only getting around to writing this review due to busy life but I suppose I'm doing it as the memory of our time there stays with me and I'm considering going back!
This is not a basic holiday rental. This property is one of the best my wife and I have stayed in, the owner Ann literally hands over her own delightful home, well stocked with all the facilities, full of quality and very spacious. The unexpected generous "welcome pack" was supplemented by Ann's very own home backed apple pie. The expression home from home has never been more appropriate.
The views from the advantaged "positions" the home offers are beautiful, with its location being ideal should you wish to walk to Moher Cliffs, tour the Burren or simply relax locally, for there are plenty of good eateries in Doolin centre.
Needless to say this property is highly recommended and will look to return in the future.
The house was great, very clean and tidy, lovely and warm, views over the bay and situated in a good location. All the services in the house are well maintained and the power shower was a bonus, look forward to staying again, thanks Ann.
This our first visit to Ireland and starting the week at Ann's wonderful house was the perfect introduction to the country, it's people and great great hospitality! The house turned out to be even nicer than on the photos with ample space, beautiful light, and a view of the Atlantic.
Yes, having read previous reviews we somewhat hoped for a pie greeting us on arrival too and sure enough an amazing crumble awaited us.
The beauty about this property is that everything like towels, linen, etc is provided for and that makes it easy and convenient.
Oh, and what a surprise finding the fridge stocked with basics for a decent breakfast! Ann, thank you for all!
