The apartment is perfect to visit NY. It was very clean and the host is very friendly and responds immediately when you ask something. The subway is around the corner (Newkirk avenue) and brings you downtown in about 25 minutes. If you come by car, be aware that they clean the streets 4 times a week between 8-9.30 and notice the signs where you can park then. From personally experience we know it costs you 45 dollar if you don't.
Good option to stay in Brooklyn
Place is amazing, near to subway, you can move for all NY... was a good option for our family.
Texans in New York
If you are not use to the city then beware, this place is right in the middle of a bustling community and can be a little overwhelming upon first impression. Very diverse community with lots of people on the streets. Don't let it scare you though. People minded their own business and were helpful with directions when we needed them. Close proximity to grocery and subway was nice. The apartment itself was small but had plenty of beds. We were basically just there to shower and sleep so it was fine. If you are from the south and used to central AC don't come in summer. There were window units in each of the 2 main bedrooms but the living room, kitchen, and bath got quite warm in the mornings when we were cooking breakfast and getting ready for the day. Sherry was very helpful with directions and advice on places to go. The water in the fridge and extra food in the pantry was very handy when we would come back to the room late at night. Overall, everything was fine but if we return to New York we will stay in Manhatten.
Cute appartment just like the pictures
Property as described , neighborhood very busy urban neighborhood. Although not far from Manhattan the commute is a little long due to congestion. Hosts are great.
A True Brooklyn Experience!
A True Brooklyn Experience!
I struggle with where to begin with this review because……. I must say it was AMAZING!
As many has stated within previous reviews, the owners (and attendants) were nothing short of EXCELLENT! They were very attentive and ALWAYS available! And this was from the initial hi to farewell message. Their hospitality mannerisms were among the best yet!
The actual home was as shown in the pics. Beautiful! The home provided a sense of safety. It was very nice, clean and a home away from home feel. The appliances were all updated, and the kitchen was well stocked. I loved the personal touches such as seasoning, coffee, tea, fresh fruits, waters, etc that were available. I forgot to pack a toothbrush and quickly appreciated the toiletries that were provided. There were plenty of towels and a change of linen available as well. The cards, dominoes and magazines were also appreciated. The AC units provided enough air to cool off the entire units. Side note: The 3rd bedroom is located on the top level outside of the main unit. Great space for someone that wants space away from all. Or someone that wants the freedom of coming and going without disturbing others.
The neighborhood is your typical Brooklyn neighborhood. Very diverse with people, shops, restaurants and homes. We walked the neighborhood all times of the day/night and not once was afraid. The laundromat is directly across the street. Very inexpensive and offer free detergent. Parking was to be expected but we were able to find parking each night with no problem. The MTA train/bus stop is located within a 5-minute walk. Our next visit we will buy an unlimited 7-day pass and travel via MTA. AND we will be staying here again!!!
To sum it up, I will end how I begin, AMAZING!!
The apartment inside was clean and very nice. The owner was incredible. The neighbourhood was a bit scary and very noisy. A lot of police sirens and loud bangs of random noises. Once in the apartment we felt very safe. We spent a lot of time on the subway traveling to Manhattan and back. If you are mostly seeing Manhattan , I recommend staying closer and saving travel time. If Brooklyn is where you want to visit most, this is a nice spot.
