About Peter Hudson
Thanks for looking, my name is Peter and I live in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. My family and friends have spent many fantastic holidays here I hope you do too.
Peter Hudson purchased this Chalet in 2003
Why Peter Hudson chose Samoëns
I visited the area in winter 2003 and fell in love with Samoens so I returned in the spring and found Chalet Le Cretet. The views are stunning and the short walk in to the village is always a pleasure. Whilst stood on the balcony sharing a beer with my friend Steve he looked out over the valley and said "you've just got to pinch yourself sometimes" and that just sums it up perfectly for me.
What makes this Chalet unique
Enjoy the charming atmosphere of a very special French, Haute-Savoie mountain village. The games room downstairs is great for inter-family competitions or just relaxing after a days skiing, hiking, walking, sun bathing etc.

Perfect home from home.
Fantastic opportunity to stay in a chalet that is so well equipped making for a fantastic and relaxing stay. Loved the summer alpine experience and the insight into fabulous rural France. With a sunny balcony, access to beautiful walks and loads of activities we hardly needed our vehicle. Highly recommend Samoens and this chalet.
We hired this Chalet just after Christmas this year 2014 and had a fantastic week. The Chalet easily coped with the 15 of us, all bedrooms are fine and the large lounge with great views over the valley was ideal, the dinning area with large table seated all of us around the table so again ideal. The games room downstairs provides extra space and entertainment. Chalet was warm and clean when we arrived.
The free ski bus is about a 10 minute walk away and Sameons itself is a lovely interesting town with lots to see. I don't usually write reviews but felt compelled here as we were so impressed, if I arrange a trip for a similar size party I would definitely go back!!
Great week had by all
Its never easy to get a chalet that sleeps/sits/feeds 11 adults comfortably but it was very easy at Le Chalet Cretet.
Everyone enjoyed the space, the warmth and the comfort of the chalet as well as giving them the opportunity for some serious table tennis/pool/table football competitions.
We didn't have a car but managed very well. Skibus in the morning is simple, and leaving ski's and boots up the mountain in heated lockers at night means that it doesn't matter whether you walk from town after a nice long apre'ski or come home earlier and walk back in.
The views from the chalet is wonderful in the snow and I am sure it is even better in the summer.
Great skiing across the Grand Massif with plenty for everyone and particularly great for those looking for the long wide cruising Blue runs.
Great for families
La Cretet is a great chalet for 3 families, the bedrooms are not cramped, the living area is spacious and the games room is brilliant for the children to disappear in. The chalet is well stocked and everything just worked (no fiddling with the wifi box or dvd for hours).
We'd definately stay again.
We have stayed at Le Cretet in Samoens 3 times in the last 7 years and have wanted to return time and time again. It's perfect for a large group (we usually have 11 -15 in our group). The kitchen is well equipped to cater for a large group - having some younger kids in our party as well, we usually opt to eat in and have had some real feasts (and a few drinks!), although if you prefer to eat out there is a great choice in Samoens just a short walk (15 mins) or drive away. In the evenings we slob around the fire and chat and the kids have a great time in the games room in the basement. The chalet is very comfortable, and an added bonus is the shower with a seat in it in the upstairs bathroom (try getting the teenagers out of that in a hurry!). The drying room downstairs is a god send for boots and clothing. The chalet is really well situated - just a 5 minute drive to the ski lift or a 20 minute drive up to 1600. Can't wait til our next visit!
Special interest holidays: Near the village is the stunning Cirque du Fer à Cheval, where grand cliffs form a horseshoe in front of the Dents Blanches mountain range. Around Samoëns are 900 kms of footpaths and hiking trails and 11 mountain huts to visit. There are many activities available for family holidays. There's something for everybody - rafting, paragliding, rock climbing on the via ferrata, downhill mountain biking... Travel: 1 hour from Geneva Distances: 10 minute walk to centre of the village Further Details: Or you can just relax by a lake, stroll through the beautiful natural surroundings of the celebrated la jaÿsinia alpine gardens. superb restaurants and friendly bars Supermarket is only 500m away
