About carol myott
I moved from Surrey to Devon 3 years ago as I wanted a change of life so upped sticks with my three beagles and came to live in our holiday house on Dartmoor where we could all enjoy the beautiful moors. It took a year to find Whitelady House but we knew when we saw it it would make the perfect large holiday/party house. With large rooms, inglenook fireplaces, oak beams, modern kitchen, a hot tub, the moor on your doorstep and Lydford Gorge at the bottom of the garden - the perfect spot. I spend my days cooking for Tavistock Country Market we sell home made cakes, pasties etc every Friday in the Pannier market. I also provide catering services to guests at the house. This can be a full catered service or the odd meal that guests can pop in the oven after a day out on the moor.

Ideal family holiday
Whitelady house is superb. It is beautifully presented and equipped with everything we could need. The whole family enjoyed being there. The hot tub was especially appreciated!
I have all ready recommended the house to friends wanting somewhere to go as a special treat.
Thank you for your kind regards, so glad you enjoyed your stay, and we hope to welcome you back in the future. Kind regards, Whitelady House
Lovely, substantial house in picture postcard setting
Our very large family had a fabulous stay in this lovely big house, lots of features. Superb kitchen with more crockery, cutlery and utensils than a hotel, great for dinner parties! House was well heated, no problems with Wi-Fi, all the family managed to connect. Loads to do locally, we went to Looe a holiday resort about 30 miles away, very pretty also Plymouth. A lot to see locally as well if you look. Kids loved the hot tub, went in every evening. Can't fault the house and thanks to the owner for the splendid home made cakes they left us (:
My college friends and I had a lovely stay at Whitelady House in Devon.
The house is beautifully furnished, spacious and very well equipped in a beautiful location; the back garden leads into Lydford Gorge which was absolutely beautiful in all its autumn glory.
My college friends and I regularly book cottages throughout the UK and Whitelady House would certainly rank in the top 3; indeed we would definitely consider booking this one again as there is plenty of capacity for bigger parties.
The only thing I can criticise Whitelady House for is it's wifi signal which is weak to say the least. Other than that it is the near perfect property especially if you like gorgeous countryside and walking.
Thank you for your kind review, sorry the WiFi was weak I have just had someone in to fix the problem and they put booster round the house, sorry if they were not working properly I will get them to come back and fix it.
A beautiful house on the edge of Dartmoor
We spent the second week of our holiday in this lovely house. The first week we were in another "HomeAway' house in Cornwall, which was also beautiful but very different. We were a party of 12 adults (2 families) and the house was more than big enough for us, the dining room is amazing. My only criticism, which isn't really one, was the poor wifi (they need a few extenders) and the lack of phone signal if you are on anything else than EE. The wifi is limited to the front 2 bedrooms and just about stretches to the TV room but that is it! Park cars outside the house rather than outside the out buildings as some slates are loose. The garden is lovely and so peaceful. We had 2 meals in the Castle pub in Lydford, which is just about walkable distance. Enjoyed the walk around Lydford Gorge. Had some great trips out to Hay Tor, Widecombe in the Moor (some lovely places to eat), Bude, Tavistock and the more adventurous of us had an excellent time 'dirt bike riding'. Loved the box of welcome homemade flapjacks, they went quickly. Only saw the owner once and she was very helpful. Only wish I could afford such a property near London!
So glad you enjoyed your visit to Dartmoor and Whitelady House, thank you for your comments, - I will investigate wifi extenders as you are right the signal doesn't penetrate the granite walls of the house. Unfortunately I can't do anything about the mobile signal although there is a house phone for both incoming and outgoing calls for guests to use.
