Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 0 - 7 nights

About the property

Cottage in Trefin, Nr. St. Davids, Pembrokeshire, Wales - Located On The Edge Of The Village But Five Minutes Walk From The Coastal Path And Aberfelin Cove

This pretty slate roofed Welsh Cottage is situated on the edge of Trefin village in the Pembrokeshire National Park exactly half way between St Davids and Fishguard. The stunning coastal footpath is only a few minutes walk away, and in late summer seal pups can be seen on the beaches under the local cliffs. Good food and drink can be enjoyed at the Ship Inn in the centre of the atmospheric village, and the world famous Sloop Inn at Porthgain is a few minutes drive away. The cottage is full of character, and the enclosed patio at the back of the cottage is a real sun trap just perfect for barbecues, whilst the actual garden is ideally suited for badminton and croquet. The tiny city of St Davids with its memorable cathedral is a short 10 minutes walk drive away, and the family might like to try out the new swimming complex at Blue Lagoon, and the famous Oakwood funfair slightly further afield. The cottage is fully centrally heated but also has a wood burning stove in the sitting room. Please note we normally only let the cottage Saturday to Saturday unless the booking is out of season or a last minute enquiry. Towels can be supplied at an extra cost of £3 each.

Lovely cosy welcoming cottage

  • 5 of 5

Lovely stay. Glenfor is a warm spacious and well equipped cottage with lovely quality period furnishings, lashings of hot water & great log burner for cosy evenings in. On sunny days the patio or garden is a great place to relax. A real sun trap and safe & secure if you have children or dogs.

We will certainly return for another relaxing break.

Many thanks to Rupert!

Thanks for letting us enjoy your gorgeous cottage. We loved everything about it. Great place to just chill out if the weather is not so kind.

Stunning coastal path nearby and loved the beach with the old mill.

Could go on and on Rupert thanks again.

A comfortable and cozy cottage with great outdoor space

  • 4 of 5

The cottage was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Lots of hot water. The outdoor space was ideal for BBQ's, The weather was kind and we all had a wonderful time, fishing, walking and enjoying the wonderful countryside. The local pub - the ship was very welcoming with good pub meals it even did a vegan curry. Picton castle a bit expensive but a great day out with wonderful gardens. The boat trip around Skomer island with out of the blue was worth every penny very exciting and we saw lots of seals.

The only down side was the cooking facilities which need updating - usable but took forever and the grill did not really work at all. Also a spot light which had blown a bulb out and was left hanging by a wire and had left a scorch mark on the fitting. We informed the caretaker as it looked like a fire hazard. She said she would send an electrician but we didn't see one during our stay and the bulb remained hanging down. However non of this spoilt the holiday and overall the cottage was great. Parking a bit of a squeeze if you have a big car.

Owner's Response: Many thanks for the review. The cooker is being replaced this winter and unfortunately the only local electrician couldn't come immediately. It was sorted on the Saturday that you left! Our apologies for not being able to do anything sooner.

Lovely characterful cottage will equipped with lots of personal touches making it feel very homely.

  • 4 of 5

Cottage is in Trefin, which is a quiet village. The Ship cafe is super and does a great breakfast. The coast path is nearby for stunning walks and St David's is close by with its wonderful cathedral and galleries. An absolute must is the boat trip around Ramsey Island - exhilarating and so interesting too.
