Our gite's are located in the peaceful village of Asnieres sur Vegre. The village has been voted one of the most beautiful villages in the Sarthe region. In the heart of the village you will find the River Vegre spanned by a medieval bridge complete with shaded banks. Asnieres is nestled with 15th to 17th century houses all adding to the charm of this pretty little village. We also run the local cafe 'Le Pavillion' serving lunch daily and evening meals via reservation. We offer afternoon drinks throughout the day and a selection of tempting Desserts, or simply a pot of tea or perhaps a cocktail.
We are a family run business which consists of myself Mark, my wife Nina, my mother in-law Liesa, brother in-law Ross & his wife Laura. We want our guests to have the best possible holiday experience in Asnières and for our guests to experience the laid back easy going lifestyle Asnières has to offer. We moved to France in 2006 and have never looked back. Asnières is a small peace of heaven and after a day of moving here we felt like it was home. We have been accepted by all the locals and help is always at hand. Our daily routine is always different and we wouldn't change it for the world. As well as running our gite business we also run the local cafe and provide food and drinks for locals and tourists.
Mark COFFEY purchased this bungalow in 2006
While we were living in the UK we decided to combine Nina's birthday and looking for a property in France. We looked all over France from small holiday homes to chateaux but when we came to Asnieres the pure beauty and charm of the village won us all over instantly. We all enjoy being out in the countryside and also we know we don't have to go to far for life's everyday essentials.
Our gites are on the same grounds as a 15th century Manoir house with superb gardens, stunning views across the river Vegre and most of all privacy. There is also nothing better than at the end of the day to sit in the garden or at the pool with a nice glass of wine and a BBQ.
One of our most favourite gites we've ever stayed in over the years we've been coming to France!! The accommodation was spotlessly clean and contained everything we could have needed during our stay.
The pool area was amazing and was where our boys spent the majority of their time.
We also had a meal in ' la pavillon' which was absolutely delicious and would recommend to anyone wanting to sample quality home cooked food.
We can not wait to return and book our next holiday at paulanosa!!
Great hosts who were available to answer questions about the local area. Lovely Gite as described in details, with enough space for 4 adults, all the equipment and facilities you would expect. Great to be able to get BBC coverage of the Olympics!. We particularly enjoyed the pool area, the pool was clean and very well maintained, there was enough space for everyone to enjoy both being in the pool or soaking up the sun on the loungers. Table tennis a big hit as were the evening boule competitions. The Pavilion restaurant was an added bonus providing us with both a brunch and evening meal, clearly well supported by the locals as well.
Mark provided excellent customer service, we would recommend to friends and family.
Only 4.5 hours drive from Calais it was an easy and relaxing one day journey. The local area is not as popular as the Loire or Dordogne with British tourists and is slightly quieter with less tourist attractions but there is more than enough to keep you entertained.
We had an awesome time and very much enjoyed our lovely surroundings and the stunning quietness of the gites. The pool was a wonderful surprise and was well used by ourselves. Although we were here for the LM Classic in our Tiger Sunbeam from NZ it was hard to leave everyday! Thank you Mark & Nina for the wonderful stay and the lovely meals at Le Pavillon.
We have had an awesome time, and have very much enjoyed our lovely surroundings & the stunningly quietness of the gites. The pool was a wonderful surprise and well used by ourselves. Although we were here in our Sunbeam Tiger from NZ for Le Mans classic it was hard to leave the gite everyday- if fact we stayed put on Friday. So thank you Mark & Nina for the wonderful stay & the lovely meals at Le Pavillon. Good luck with your future expansion, we are sure you will be a total success.
We all had a fantastic break and my two children Molly (8) and Jack (12) spent many hours in the lovely warm pool as did my wife and I. The area is beautiful and unspoilt with some great sights to see. The light show at La Mans was amazing. The food and company at the Pavilion in the village made the holiday complete. We all left feeling revived from the daily grind in the UK and a little sad to say goodbye to some new friends and a great holiday
The accomodation is very good with plenty of space to relax and enjoy ourselves. The village is picturesque as are many of the surrounding ones. The pool is very good and this was made better by the excellent weather.
We a can thoroughly recommend this property.
