About Marie Djiapouras Jones
Star in the Med our island home designed by us with space being a luxury which we both enjoy alone or sharing with friends and family. We have lived in Cyprus for 20 years and the island is very much in our blood. We now share our Mediterranean lifestyle with like minded travellers who enjoy laid back luxury and plenty of space. We love waking up to the tranquility of our hilltop retreat. Enjoy!
Marie Djiapouras Jones purchased this Villa in 2006
Why Marie Djiapouras Jones chose Monagroulli
Location : https://maps.app.goo.gl/lSFlJWx2B3dnAmkt2 The east side of Limassol is a perfect location. The villa is far enough away from the city to feel rural but close to the seafront with many bars and restaurants. Some great casual tavernas and takeaways nearby too for a souvlaki or meze . An ideal location for the best of both worlds with great views. Some of the best beaches and beach bars/restaurants are this end of Limassol.
What makes this Villa unique
Beautiful sunsets and a perfect setting for cocktail hour Watch the firework displays from the nearby seafront hotels and the stars at night are amazing too. The feeling of space, peace and some seriously great get togethers with friends and family.

An amazing villa in a quiet Cypriot village close to Limassol. 15 minutes to the beautiful sandy beach and clear warm sea at St Raphael and an hour drive to the Kaledonia waterfalls. A very comfortable, large modern villa overlooking the village and with views of the mountains in every direction and the sea in the distance. The fully equipped kitchen and gas BBQ makes cooking a pleasure. Dine outside and enjoy the stunning views, stars and sunset. If you would prefer not to cook then would recommend the local pizza takeaway and take out from Kleftico. Both delicious. Marie is a great host answering questions promptly and making sure we were all happy. ‘Star in the Med’ is a fabulous base for a holiday in Cyprus.
A fabulous place to relax and enjoy beautiful mountain and sea views. The villa is very spacious and well-equipped and the pool, garden and terrace areas provide lots of space to soak up the sun or cool off in the shade. Watching the sun set behind the hills with a cool drink was one of the highlights for us. Marie is a very welcoming host and made sure we had everything we needed. Monagroulli is a very quiet little village but Limassol is an easy drive away is offers great beaches, restaurants and shops. We enjoyed every minute of our stay.
Beautiful Home in Quaint Village Near Limassol
Convenient home in a great location. Very comfortable for a family to use as a base to explore Cyprus. Marie and Kevin were great to work with too. Definitely recommend!
You could get lost in this Villa, it's so big
We booked this villa for 6 adults as a family holiday, as we have quite a few special Birthdays this year and I have to say the villa was big enough for us all to spread out so we did not feel we were on top of each other constantly and it was also nice have our own ensuites. The cinema, games room and gym were something you do not always get when booking a holiday, so it was a bonus to keep everyone entertained of an evening rather than having to travel for entertainment every day. We enjoyed the pool and even though it was not heated it was warm enough with the sun on it all day. The garden area with the palm trees and bbq were lovely to sit in of an evening with a very picturesque view. Thank you Marie and Kevin for all of the information you provided us with in the area and for the lovely welcome pack which was really helpful with arriving so late at night. Now we are home we are really missing Jute the cat and his lovely little squeak rather than a meow, and his playfulness each time he visits. We would recommend the restaurant on the beach called Plussea which is listed in the portfolio as the waiters were very friendly and it was a good service in a nice setting.
We had a week long holiday in Monagroulli and can thoroughly recommend a stay in this villa. It is situated in a very tranquil village but is within a short drive of Limassol and is also well situated to explore other areas of Cyprus by car. We have had several villa holidays over the years and Star in the Med is probably the best equipped villa we have stayed in - every kitchen gadget you could need is available. We enjoyed using the pool table in the games room in the evening and enjoyed relaxing by the pool during the day as well as visiting different areas of Cyprus.
Marie and Kevin are perfect hosts. We had some queries before our trip which were answered promptly and efficiently and during our stay they were very helpful when we needed any assistance. Overall we had a lovely holiday and would encourage booking this villa.
Thanks for your positive review
So pleased you highlighted the great location for peace yet still nearness to the town and good middle location to explore our beautiful island.
Fab Holiday in top luxury and style
A most beautiful property in a quiet setting with fabulous views. Everything you could ever dream of needing is there ready to use. A property clearly used as a home not just as a holiday let.
We had really hot weather at the end of May (in the 30's), the pool is fab for swimming and whilst not heated was not at all cold in late May. The hot tub was a joy in the evenings. There is so much space at this property that you can spend time with family and friends or find a quiet space away from them. The games room, gym and cinema room would have been great had the weather not been so good, but we were still outside at midnght so never got around to using them.
The roads through the village are narrow but you quickly get use to them. There are good places to eat within a short drive, we also ate in using the BBQ and had a take away delivered - both of which we enjoyed enormously. The village has a small well stocked mini supermarket which is within walking distance, the local bakery is a short drive away.
As we knew beforehand the twin room doesn't have an ensuite, there is however a toilet and basin on the ground floor, and an extra shower room on the lower ground floor, so that's an option if you don't want your teenagers or friends trapsing in and out of the master bedroom - it's a bit of a hike down the two long flights of stairs, a small inconvenience when weighed against what is over all a most remarkable and gorgeous property.
Our village is only a few kilometres to beautiful blue flag beaches. The villa is sitting on a small hill with elevated views of the sea and village.
The lovely blue flag St Raphael beach is only minutes away with a long sandy beach with a small Marina and safe shallow swimming for children. You can sit at Malindi beach bar and restaurant and still keep an eye out for the children!
We love to go to Plus Sea for a day on the beach, drinks lunch or dinner, the venue is right next to the sea . SUP paddle boarding is just along the sea path and on windy days you can enjoy to watch the kite surfers at St. Raphael beach.
Some of the best hotels are on this stretch of beach which we visit for great coffee, cocktails or for a luxury dining experience.
At the Four Seasons hotel "Colors" cafe we enjoy a good brunch or afternoon coffee the cafe has great decor, amazing pastries (try the chicken curry pie) and luxurious desserts you can also buy to take away.
Along the sea pathway from the Four Seasons you reach "Puesta" a great Oyster and seafood restaurant right on the beach.
Limassol Marina is a must visit for a nice walk to look at some amazing luxury yachts!
There are an abundance of eateries, modern and traditional. There are always free events happening at the Limassol Marina, a safe family night out and children love it.You will see many local families enjoying the promenade.
A walk to the old town right near the Marina is worth a stroll. The old town offers a glimpse at the past with traditional tavernas (also many new generation Cypriots mixing old and new , which makes an interesting twist) there a lot of shops and bars with some lovely old buildings.
Drive out and visit Omodhos village in the mountains only a 40 minute drive , here we visit Stou Kir Yianni taverna a cute taverna with a little live music and good Cypriot food.
the troodos mountain range is a beautiful drive to see and enjoy a little nature and indulge in some Cyprus sweets.
Paphos and Larnaca are only 40 minutes drive and worth a visit for beaches or to visit the older parts of town for a little shopping.
