About Thatch Close Cottages
We both lived in the Cotswolds, so knew the area. Both were teachers, two years VSO in Nigeria, ran this proeprty as a smallholding. Followung retierment from teaching , edward worked for the Civil Service for 10 years.
Thatch Close Cottages purchased this Cottage in 1980
Why Thatch Close Cottages chose Llangarron
We knew the area, and were struck with its location- quiet and secluded and yet close to good transport links. The house nedded a lot of work and we enjoyed the challenge of restoring it and the derelict barns so that many could enjoy what we had.

These properties have been renovated to a very high standard. They are particularly suited to disabled guests, where the owners have done everything possible to meet such needs. Ed was extremely helpful and attentive. Our little dog was welcome. It is an ideal spot for a quiet relaxing trip to the Wye Valley. We did have some issues with other guests’ dogs hence why not a 5 for us.
The other guests have been here for some time, they are in the process of moving house, their dogs ( we call them The Bandits) have settled in and think they own the place.
We realise they are boisterous, but harmless and aplologies for their behaviour.
Apart from that we are pleased you enjoyed your stay, please give your little dog a biscuit from us.
