Why Tony Mole chose Windermere
I fell in love with these gorgeous log cabins and their spectacular locations as soon as I saw them. Contemporary and up to date in terms of design and layout, very stylish interiors yet cosy when the snow's on the ground. I've equipped them with everything modern guests would expect to see such as iPod docking stations, wif-fi. Always a delight returning to one of the lodges after a long day on the fells. The locations are perfect for exploring arguably the most beautiful part of England any time of year.

Long weekend stay
wonderful property, warm and comfy, our dog loved it here. Recommend it to anyone, we had a great time. Thanks
Thanks for taking the time to send in a review it's much appreciated. We were pleased you enjoyed your pre-Christmas stay at Brathay Lodge and found it was everything you wanted - including your dog ! Also great to know you'd be happy to recommend it. Hope to welcome you back again soon.
Lovely place, lodge clean and great location, very disappointed with not at all private hot tub!
Nice clean Lodge,
Not at all private hot tub and unless you want everyone around watching, unable to use the hot tub!!
Thanks for your kind comments about the lodge, its cleanliness and excellent location however we were very disappointed to read your comments concerning the hot tub. We installed the hot tub 3 years ago, the lodge is extremely popular, always fully booked all year round and these are the first negative comments we've received in all that time. For the majority of the year the hot tub is screened by large trees, shrubs and tall bamboo plants. Your end of November stay unfortunately coincided with the surrounding trees being devoid of their usual foliage and we are very sorry you felt unable to use it during your stay.
Great lodge, good location
We have just returned from a 4 day break at this lodge.
The park is in a good location on lake Windermere. Despite the fact we booked a private lodge we still had to queue to check in with all the Park Dean customers which was a little frustrating. They provided us with a map of the park
along with information about events and swimming (you have to pre book a time slot for the pool). No welcome pack or information was provided by the lodge owner. The swimming pool was cold, we were advised of this at check in as there was a problem with the heating system. The park staff we had contact with were friendly and helpful. A man greeted us with balloon models upon check-in. The woodland walk provided us with loads of exploring fun. We ate in the boathouse one evening and despite the long queue to order the food was came prompt and was good.
The lodge itself was easily located within the park. It was modern, clean, spacious, comfortable, warm and had everything we needed!! There was plenty of storage. The kitchen was well equiped and clean. The hot tub was a lovely addition esp on the crisp Autumnal days. The only criticism we could make is the master bed was very uncomfortable, you could feel every spring in the mattress and would benefit from being replaced.
We had a brilliant few days away in the Lake District creating loads of memories with this homely lodge as our base!
Beautiful log cabin in a perfect location for exploring the Lake District. Stayed here in this well equipped lodge for 4 nights and would definitely recommend it as perfect accommodation. Four adults and a small dog with plenty of space and a closed in deck which was great for our dog. Would most definitely stay here again.
Delighted to receive such a positive review... thank you !
We specifically chose this lodge as the location is perfect for exploring the Lakes. Pleased you found the lodge comfortable, spacious, well equipped and ideal for pets with the large, enclosed wrap round deck.
Look forward to welcoming you back soon !
Just back from a fantastic weekend at the lodge, we would recommend it to anyone who is looking for some time away in the lakes, Great location. The lodge is very clean and modern with the benefits of a hot tub, the communication with the owner is second to none. Our only problem now is trying to work out when we can come back,
Thanks so much for your review we love to know what people think of the lodge, its facilities and location. Very pleased to hear you found the lodge comfortable and clean, enjoyed the hot tub and also the lodge's location on the shores of Lake Windermere. We look forward to welcoming you back very soon !
Well sized lodge with hot tub in beautiful part of lakes!!
Spent 4 nights here with with our daughters and dog. Lodge is well located and the park has pool as well as having access to a local (5mins) Leisure centre included.
Lodge itself is well equipped and in great condition. Kids loved the hot tube, which although it was raining, seen a lot of action
Will be back!
