The area is ideal for a relaxing and peaceful holiday for those wanting to 'get away' from it all, yet within a short distance there is all of the shops, bars and activities that you could wish for. The area is a haven for nature lovers and both hiking or leisurely walking all year round. The very large pool is ideal for family's with children. The villa has plenty of both pool and garden furniture to ensure your stay is perfect. If the beach is preferred, the nearest beach is just 15 minutes away, either by car or local bus service, or taxi.
Me and my fiancé Melissa have been together for 11 years and engaged for 9 years, we don’t have any children yet but have a gorgeous niece, 3 lovely nephews and a very spoilt cat Molly. We both love travelling but after visiting some amazing places we now enjoy our holidays in Turkey. Like most we enjoy nothing more than chilling with friends over a barbecue and a glass of wine or two.
Jody Pryer purchased this villa in 2009
After enjoying a weeks holiday in Olu Duniz in 2008 we chose to have our Villa built in Uzumlu due to the amazing Mountain views, the friendly people in the village and the welcoming mountain breeze especially in the summer months. The nearest restaurant is less than a 5 min walk, has a friendly owner and very reasonable prices. There are also plenty of other restaurants in the village, which is just a short stroll and are all equally as good. The local bakery is a must for fresh bread first thing in the morning. We love the tranquillity of the Village but we also like that we are only a 15 minute drive away from Fethiye with its lovely harbour and half an hours drive gets us to the beautiful beach of Olu Deniz and the busier resort of Hisaronu.
The villa is only one of five on the same lane catering for a very relaxing holiday, each with a private pool - excellent for a group of friends or family. We have also included a brick built barbecue and a pagoda with bean bags ideal for relaxing in at the end of evening with a glass of wine. Ilhan and his wife will also look after you during your stay taking care of the maintenance and cleaning for you at no extra cost. We are very fortunate enough to be able share our villa with friends, family and guests, and have had many repeat bookings over the last couple of years.
Uzumlu was a find and the villa was perfectly located with great views of the Mountain (as the name implies). The villa was clean, comfortable and spacious and the pool was much larger than average, beautifully warm and spotless.you would not get these facilities for 3 times the price in Spain. Don't hesitate - just book it you won't be disappointed . (For reference we were a 3 generation party- the oldest 70 the youngest 7). Also if you love coffee Try Flora and Fauna in the village up the hill - they also have wifi.
Our 4th stay at this amazing villa - nothing is too much trouble for Jody and Melissa to sort out for you and once you are there Ilhan and his wife will help with anything at all you may need. We will be back again very soon no doubt! Our kids love it here and we do too - thank you Jody and Melissa - The Byrne's
This was our first time in Turkey. Jody and Melissa were really helpful with booking our transfer and car hire, which were excellent and really good value. They gave us lots of information before we travelled to help us plan.
The villa and pool was perfect. The village is very friendly and would recommend the wine house for a meal and drink.
We would highly recommend it to anyone and we are already looking at flights for next year.
My wife and I had a wonderful stay in a wonderful villa. The villa was extremely well-appointed and contained everything we needed for our week long stay.
The booking process with Jody was very slick and help was given when needed (even answering an exasperated phone call at 1am when we got lost!). It was very nice not to receive a booking form with a million-and-one do's and dont's, instead we felt relaxed, controlled and able to fully enjoy the facilities without fear of doing something wrong.
The villa has a "resident" handyman who is a good source of knowledge and ideas for the local area as well as ensuring you do not want for anything during your stay. He was jovial and efficient and kept the villa ship-shape.
I have made a few bookings from this site and this has been one of the best rentals we have had. The photographs are honest and reflective of the current condition of the villa, the pool was one of the cleanest I have been in and the views are excellent.
Yesiuzumlu is a small traditional village with very friendly residents who were always happy to smile and wave. The village has a couple of small shops for essentials and a couple of restaurants.
We hired a car for our stay (something that could have been arranged through the owners) this gave us a little bit of extra freedom to go to the supermarket in Fethiye and visit some of the more popular resorts. It was always nice to get back to the village!
I would recommend this villa wholeheartedly, it's suitable for couples, families and children. Anyone who wants a quiet getaway will not be disappointed.
This is our third visit to the villa and I know it won't be our last. There is me my husband and 3 children 6,2 and 1 and we all absolutely love it there. Not only is the villa perfect for everything your family would need for a relaxing sunshine holiday but Jody and Melissa the owners make sure everything is just perfect so your holiday booking, trnasfers, car hire, etc are all sorted for you before you arrive. We couldn't as for a more perfect place to stay and this is why we have continued to return.
The Villa is spacious, modern and kept very clean and the pool area is just amazing! It's so relaxing. There is a lovely couple that maintain the pool area and villa and they will help with anything you may need!
Uzumlu village is small but beautiful and the villagers are all so friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble here.
We hire a car and take a drive down to Olu deniz beach which is beautiful and we also visit hisaranou which has a fair and a bustling nightlife with some lovely resteraunts - I can recommend Dominoes, beautiful food and not over priced.
Overall we would not satay anywhere else now and we could not recommend the villa enough!!!
Uzumlu is a wonderful location and this villa is beautifully positioned to enjoy the amazing mountain views. The villa is modern inside and furnished to a high standard, our children loved having their own pool, and we loved sitting beside the pool or on one of the 3 balconies enjoying the view!! Thank you.
Special interest holidays:
History in the area is endless, and great for sight seeing as well. Lycian tombs at Tlos and Telmessos, Dalyan mud baths and turtle beach are all in this area including the ghost town at Kayakoyu.
There is also horse riding, Jeep safaris, paragliding, white water rafting, water parks as well as loads of other activities to keep yourselves occupied. Local reasonably priced boat trips including lunch around the beautiful Fethiye bay and 12 islands are also great days out.
Within easy reach by car, dolmus (local bus service) or taxi is Oludeniz, Hisaronu and Fethiye.
The turquoise coast is one of the most popular areas in turkey, with beaches at Calis/Fethiye and more famously Oludeniz. Blue lagoon is one of the most beautiful and photographed beaches in the world with it's turquoise sea and white sandy beach it's no wonder people return here year after year.
Transfers from dalaman airport to uzumlu are around 45 minutes.
car hire is recommended but not essential as their is a very cheap local bus service that runs from the village through out the day and evening .
car hire and airport transfers can be arrange on your behalf at discounted rates, return airport transfers generally cost in the region of £20-£25 per person and car hire can be arranged including insurance for around £25 per day.
A good selection of local restaurants with bars, a wine house, several supermarkets and a village bakery all within easy walking distance from the villa. Fresh crusty loaves straight from the oven can be bought at 6am and 11. 30pm for just 20p. Fethiye with it's bustling marina, shops, restraints and night-life is just a 15 min journey and if a day at the beach is in order then visit the famous blue lagoon at Olu Deniz accessible in just 35 minutes.
Uzumlu is an unspoilt traditional village that gives a true reflection of rural Turkish life and culture. A quiet and relaxing retreat with lots of countryside and forest to walk in, take in picturesque views and local life. Authentic village houses show a traditional lifestyle for local people. Uzumlu translates literally 'with grapes' and you will see most local houses have their own grapevines, a vegetable plot and livestock. Most local people live off the land and are very happy to share produce with you. Local wine is available in the village.
sunshine during the summer months is practically guaranteed, but don't be surprised to get the odd thunderstorm! Temperatures are well over 30c in the height of the season but Uzumlu benefits from a lovely mountain breeze. It is also usually warm enough for sunbathing in may and October.
As turkey is not in the EU, the standard of living is a lot cheaper than the UK. Eating out is also very good value for money.
Fethiye is a typical busy town with a harbour (daily links to Rhodes) and a large marina. There is a huge market held on Tuesday with endless food stalls along with clothes, leather goods, handbags, carpets, shoes, herbs and spices, Turkish delight, local lace and trinkets. Haggling with the stall holders is a must! The food market is also held on Friday. This is the best and cheapest place to buy fruit, vegetables, spices, cheese etc. There is a central area where you can buy something to eat and drink is fantastic as are the local pancakes!
for fish lovers go to the nearby fish market where you can buy fresh fish daily. Restaurants around the market will cook it for you. There are two good butchers close to the fish market open daily.
