In need of renovation!
The positives. It is a good position to reach the Torpoint ferry to Cornwall and regular buses to the city centre.
The flat is self contained with all amenities. Quiet location.
Apart from a new bathroom the whole flat was old and in desperate need of modernisation. Wooden shutters to the windows, creaky floorboards and old furniture. 1970's style if not older.
On entering the property there was a damp smell. Not a good start. The door to the flat would not close and took many attempts before it did. I reported this to Lucy but no-one came to fix it.
On putting food in the fridge the freezer door fell off. Needed replacing.
If you prefer a soft bed then this is good for you. Unfortunately when we removed the sheet after our stay we found a very old mattress that was covered in stains. Absolutely disgusted that we slept in it.
On the subject of sleeping. The location is quiet but we were woken up 3/4 times per night when the boiler came on. This is strangely situated in the corner of the bedroom.
In the evening if was a little chilly but the fire has been disconnected and there is instruction that you are not allowed to touch the heating timer, so we had to wrap up. Not ideal circumstances.
There is a pond outside which contained 2 fish which was nearly drained of water. We had to fill it up or the fish would have died. When we left, the pond had started to leak again. Is anyone maintaining this?
Overall I would definitely not recommend to anyone. Unless you don't really mind where you stay.
Rooms smelt and felt damp - door lock needed to be slammed to lock properly - chair at table broken
Bed was very unstable - property was not up to standard - whole building was dank and damp, smelling damp and felt damp
Would not recommend to anyone
Information received regarding checking in was not correct which led to initial bad impression
Whole experience was not enjoyable
Dear Kay, I am sorry that the apartment fell short of your expectations. It was good to meet you both on your arrival and the confusion around the check in time was sorted out within the hour. I only wish you had shared your other concerns with me during your stay as they could have been dealt with had I only known. Beds and chairs are easy enough to replace and/or repair.
we enjoyed our stay
I am from Plymouth . It was a good choice for getting around . Difficult sometimes to park , as we were late in the evening returning to the premises.
Everything was in the apartment including a washing machine . The only thing was the shower which was not very satisfactory.
An OK property. We did not love it, can't change the response.
Cleaning up the outside sitting area would make a significant improvement. The chairs and table were covered in green slime and surrounded by rubbish.
Dear Sheila. I am sorry that you did not enjoy your stay in Furneaux. Thank you for your comments which I always take seriously and act upon. I only wish you had got in touch with your concerns at the time so that they could have been swiftly addressed.
Absolihtky lived staying in the apartment, beautiful back garden for the sun and have a nice drink. Lovely comfortable bed and a very lovely apartment thank you.
So glad you enjoyed it Reid. Hopefully the garden will continue to develop nicely and all the new plants grow and enjoy the sun as you did. Do come again. Lucy
Lovely apartment. Very clean and homely.
I stayed in this lovely apartment for a week in April. I was very impressed with the immaculate way in which it was presented. It has everything you need and is very clean and cosy. The double bed was so comfortable, I slept like a log every night! The apartment is on a lovely quiet residential road, based very close to bus, train and ferry services (I don't drive), making it an ideal base for exploring Devon & Cornwall. I met Lucy, who is very kind and welcoming and I had a most enjoyable stay. I will certainly be returning very soon! Very highly recommended.
Many thanks to Lucy and also to Isobel, her housekeeper, who keeps everything looking immaculate.
Best regards, Louise.
Thanks Louise and I’m so glad you enjoyed your stay. Hope to see you soon. Lucy
