The Cottage

A beautiful 2 bedroom semi-detached cottage, equipped to a high standard and perfectly located in the heart of Swanage.

**Please note: there is the option to pay the owners directly via bank transfer, thus avoiding the HomeAway service fees. Please request when booking if this is your preferred method.**

Conveniently located just a few minutes walk from the stunning beach, bustling town and fabulous restaurants yet with easy access to explore the rest of the Jurassic Coast.


As you enter the cottage you step into the fully equipped kitchen/diner. Hang up your coats, remove your shoes and prepare to relax in this comfortable space. Everything you need to cook up a storm is on hand, along with a dishwasher to clean it all up. There is a Smeg fridge freezer to store all your fresh food and plenty of cupboard storage for dried goods. A microwave and washer/drier are also available. There is also a mini Bose bluetooth system for you to play your favourite tunes or just sit back at the dining table and watch your choice of program on the television.


The lounge has two comfortable sofas and an armchair in which to relax. There is soft lighting and a flatscreen television. Board games, books and a selection of DVD's can be found in the beautiful antique sideboard.


The bathroom is located at the top of the stairs where you will find the bathroom suite complete with overhead shower. There is a heated towel rail.


There are two bedrooms. Bedroom 1 comprises of a double bed, whitewashed side cabinets and overhead storage. It also has a television should you wish to chill out and watch tv in bed.

The decked area

Here you can relax while the sun goes down after a day of exploring. The decking has a beautiful modern dining set and a BBQ should you wish to eat alfresco.


The cottage comes with WiFi and high speed broadband should you require it.


We are lucky enough to own our own parking space directly in front of the cottage - this is an absolute premium in Swanage.

Fantastic location

The location of this cottage must surely be its unique selling point! Just a short walk from the beach and shops; it was brilliant for days at the beach when you want to take a million items with you. We could pop back easily if we needed to. Despite its close proximity to town, it is very quiet and we had really good sleeps here. The cottage is very well kitted out and has everything you could need and is finished to high standard throughout. The deck is fab, a real asset, and we spent lots of time up there reading, eating and sunbathing. Lastly, the cottage has its own parking spot which is brilliant as parking in Swanage is so hard to find, so if you go out for the day you don't have to worry about parking when you get home late! Sunnybank is a great find and we hope to return.

Sunnybank is a very well equipped property finished to a high standard with its own parking space and is a very short walk from the centre of Swanage.

We found its location very convenient and hardly used the car in the week that we stayed there.

I can recommend Harlees fish and chips and the Red Lion pub for great food :)

Also try to get to Chococo if you like choclolate!!

Perfect Location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sunnybank. We had searched for something where we were close to the town centre so that we didn't have to use the car too much - in fact we parked it on arrival and didn't use it again until we loaded up to leave! Nice and clean, plenty of seating and storage and the kitchen was probably the best equipped in any place we've stayed. The little outside terrace catches the evening sun and we enjoyed sitting here after a long day walking. Swanage is very hilly but this cottage is only a very short climb from the level town and promenade so it's great when the legs are a bit tired! This really was one of the nicest places we've stayed in and we'd definitely return again if we go back to Swanage.

Perfect Location

We stayed in Sunnybank for a week. To have your own parking space right outside property is a bonus. You didn't need your car while in the centre, as you were literally 3 minutes walk away from shops, restaurants, pubs and the seafront. The beach was a short 5 minutes stroll. Excellent facilities in the apartment - pretty much home from home. I would definitely recommend this property, for a family or a couple.

Good location

We have just returned from a lovely stay at Sunnybank. It is comfortable and nicely decorated but it's real asset is the location being very close to the shops and the sea. We had days out to Brownsea Island, Corfe Castle (via steam train), Durdle Door and the various beaches at Studland. Good communication from owner. 😀

Special interest holidays:

Swanage and the Purbecks is an ideal family location and also for those who enjoy walking, climbing or cycling. It is also popular for fishing with boat trips, pier and mackerel fishing available. Swanage hosts a fantastic carnival week, RNLI week, Jazz, Blues and Folk festivals, firework displays and Punch and Judy shows – not to mention the infamous Fancy Dress New Year festivities. There are some wonderful restaurants and cafes, great transport links and a real steam railway to Corfe Castle.


The house is located within a few minutes walk to the beautiful sandy Swanage bay. Studland, Middle Beach are a short 10 minute drive or bus trip away.


Wareham is the nearest train station and there is a regular bus service to Swanage. There is a regular bus service (sometimes open top) to Bournemouth and also during the summer months (weather permitting) a boat service to Bournemouth. Bournemouth Airport is approx 30 mins by car. Poole is the closest cross channel ferry port.

A completed booking form (provided by the owners) and 25% for the total cost is required to secure your booking, the balance being due 8 weeks prior to your stay. A refundable deposit of £250 against breakages/damages is required prior to your booking - this will be returned immediately upon inspection of the property and once the keys have been returned.
