Whether you are planning a short break, a family holiday, new to the area or come back time and again, whether you are a sailor, walker, beach-lover, the Orchid House is perfectly situated to enjoy the area's distinct charm, attractions and many activities.
The Orchid House is only minutes walk from the town centre, shops, restaurants and the passenger ferries to East Portlemouth. The sunny interior is fully equipped and its main attraction is the stunning panoramic views of the estuary. A sun terrace offers an outside seating and dining area. There is private off street parking and free WiFi.

We have been to this cottage twice now and love the views and location - perfect for exploring Salcombe. The house is clean and comfortable; great for a family. I'm sure we'll stay again!
This is a well placed property in Salcombe with 2 parking spaces. We did not need to use a car during our stay as it was so close to the town. It is clean, well equipped with everything that is required for a holiday. The owners responded quickly to all emails.
We spent a long weekend there in order to attend a wedding in the Harbour Hotel. It was probably the nearest we could have stayed to the hotel, without being in the hotel itself, and we were able to pop back during the day when required, as the walk was less than 5 minutes.
4 adults stayed in the property and although our grown up daughters shared the downstairs bedroom, they preferred to use the upstairs shower. We did not use the room with the bunk beds which was probably more suitable for children.
One of the best things about the property was the great view from the lounge window and to be able to 'people watch' whilst sitting on the beanbag at the window!
We absolutely loved our stay here, the views of the harbour from the living room were stunning! The house is clean and comfortable with amble room. It is a great location just a minute walk into the heart of Salcombe. The little terrace was a fantastic place to sit and watch the sunset. Already looking at when I can come back!
I loved being able to walk into the living room and see the entire Harbour from the comfort of the sofa! The house is incredibly clean, comfortable and well-equipped and just moments away from the centre of Salcombe; we rarely used our car as everything was so close. I would thoroughly recommend this property and hope to stay here again next year.
I loved it here! We didn't have sun everyday but still had a wonderful time. The walking around here is varied and there are so many beautiful beaches to choose from. I would definitely come back!
We have fond memories of our stays at the Orchid house : it is well positioned with restaurants and shop close by with parking a particular bonus. The estuary views are very special indeed. We have recommended the property to friends.
Numerous safe, clean and sandy beaches in the South Hams area with several beaches within walking distance of The Orchid House via the two pedestrian ferries.
Salcombe town is within 1 minute walking distance of the Orchid House. Further afield, Kingsbridge town centre is 6 miles by car (15 mins drive). The nearest train station is at Totnes, a drive of 20 miles by car (40 mins).

The Orchid House is available to rent throughout the year on a weekly basis. Short breaks out of season can also be negotiated. Provisional reservations can be accepted by telephone or e-mail and confirmed on payment of a rental deposit.
Changeover day is Friday with departure time by 10:00 am and arrival after 4:00 pm unless by prior arrangement where possible.

Prices range from £480 per week low season to £1,575 per week high season. Short stay rates are available during non-peak periods and costs, as a percentage of weekly rental rates. 3 nights: 70%, 4 nights: 75%, 5 nights: 85%, 6 nights: 92%, 7 nights: 100%.
