Greystones is a huge favourite of Martin and Fiona, regular visitors; Martin proposed to Fiona as they arrived for a holiday, managing to secrete the ring in the keysafe! They returned a few months later to be married at Richmond, and invited Shirley and Peter, owners, and Judith and Martin, managers, to celebrate their wedding. So if you want a romantic cottage holiday, Greystones is the place for you!
Stockdale Cottage is the cottage which has been our family home for generations. We live locally and try to visit regularly to maintain, decorate and update our lovely properties. We try our best to make our cottages as warm and welcoming as we can. We love beautiful Swaledale and hope our guests will love the area and the houses as much as we do.
Judith Dower purchased this cottage in 1949
There are many walks direct from the door, all amid the stunning landscape of Swaledale. The only crowds you'll find here are flocks of sheep and a few cows! Breathe in the invigorating air and admire the wonderful meadow flowers and stone barns and walls. Explore the single-track roads with amazing views overlooking the dale and relax with a pint of locally-brewed real ale at one of the cozy nearby pubs.

"How fabulous, our 2nd visit, the first being nearly 20 years ago. Exactly as we remembered - charming, kitchen bigger, though! We will be back - not in 19 years next time, but next year, we hope. Thank-you so much, we love it!!"
