We are situated on the D703 Between Le Bugue (8kms) and Ste. Alvere (6kms). Bordeaux our nearest International Airport is 2 hours drive from here and Toulouse is around 2½ hours away. Bergerac Airport, which is about 40 kms away and has regular flights from Stanstead, England via Ryanair and from Bristol and Southampton via Flybe. The trains from Paris stop in Le Buisson (10 miles) and Le Bugue (5 miles) Both Ste. Alvère and Le Bugue offer Boulangeries, Pharmacies, Super Markets and numerous Cafes and excellent Restaurants. We are 10 minutes from the nearest 18 hole golf course and canoing on the Dordogne river is also 10 minutes drive.
Linda and I have been at Les Lavandes since 1996, having moved here with our family from Perpignan, where we lived for three years. Ken is a web designer and also hosts websites for other people. Since moving here we have totally renovated all of the properties and have tried our best to equip them with everything you could need whilst on holiday. Linda has always been interested in fabrics and has made all of the curtains, cushions and soft furnishings.
We have made many good friends with our guests over the years, many who have returned every year since we have been here. Les Lavandes is our business and not just a hobby, so we make it our business to make sure that our guests have a wonderful time with us.
Ken and Linda Austin purchased this bungalow in 1996
Linda and I have run Les Lavandes as a tourist business for nearly 20 years. This is not a hobby for us or just another property to implement our pensions, it is our way of life. We do everything in our power to make your holiday as memorable and as perfect as possible, which our visitors book on our website can attest to.
Each of our properties are private and not overlooked by the other properties. There are glorious walks from your doorstep and some of the best restaurants in the region are within easy reach. We will be on hand to make reservations for you and to insure that your holiday is as perfect as it can be. We have wonderful views from the property and plenty of space to relax in, see our panoramic photos on our website.
Just returned from a wonderful and relaxing holiday at La Bergerie. Excellently equipped and comfortable house, delightful swimming in the pool and above all else attentive and helpful hosts - do follow up on their excellent restaurant reservations. Great villages and the river so close to explore. An absolute recommendation!
Beautiful property in a stunning location. There is lots of open space at Les Lavandes which our two boys age 8 and 12 particularly enjoyed. The swimming pool is a good size, and well maintained. The property is well located for visiting many of the areas tourist attractions. Our hosts Ken and Linda were very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay.
We would highly recommend Les Lavandes to friends or relatives.

Le Bugue our nearest large town with all amenities is 5 miles away. Ste Alvere is three miles.
We have so much to do in this region. There are rumoured to be 1,001 Chateaux in the Dordogne.
Caves abound including the world famous Lascaux. Our nearest cave is in Le Bugue. Also Proumeyssac just outside of Le Bugue.
We have many good restaurants no too far away including Michelin starred ones.
Wine tasting, the nearest being in Limeuil where the Vesere and Dordogne Rivers meet. But there are so many wine Chateaux in the Dordogne to many to mention. A trip to St. Emilion is always worth while.
Many bring their bikes as the region is very good to cycle.
We have some fantastic walks from our property but there are so many more and the Office du Tourism will give you maps.
Canoeing on both the Vesere and the Dordogne are great fun and many of our guests like to do this whatever their age.
There is a local market for every day of the week. Just the place to have a drink in a local bar and sit and watch the world go by.
