Why Dr Roger E Sturdy chose Truro
When my profession brought me to Cornwall thirty years ago I fell in love with this property for its character, stunning location and acid soil on which could be grown Rhododendrons, Camellias, Azaleas and Magnolias. I have always loved Cornwall since childhood visits, investigating the rock pools and walking along the wonderful coastal paths. There is easy access to Newquay and the North Coast, and St Austell and the South Coast, as well as Truro and the many wonderful gardens of Central and Western Cornwall.
What makes this Apartment unique
I shall never move because the beauty and tranquillity of this magic place would be impossible to equal. This property offers period style and gracious proportions that are rare to find in holiday accommodation. There are excellent roads straight to Truro, Newquay or St Austell and the A30 dual carriageway is just 5 minutes away giving easy access to the whole Cornish peninsula.

Extremely pleasant stay with the family and very peaceful location.
This is a property which provide all the required amenities whilst relaxing and connecting with the very large garden/pond/sheeps....
The view from the balcony provides a great sight, with plenty of greenery etc. Truly a great place to unwind and take things at your own pace. Also the location is close to most local activities and places to visit. Dr Roger is very courteous and helpful. Highly recommended.
Lovely place to stay
Nice decoration inside and outside .
The apartment is magnificent, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Although there are many renovations underway around the property, we enjoyed our stay. Our only regret is that we may never get to see the gardens come into their own. There has been a lot of thought and hard work put into the gardens and when they mature, they are going to be spectacular.
The house was really comfortable and had very interesting decor. We really enjoyed discovering and speculating over the various pieces around the house.
Imagine our surprise when we went down to the local pub for a pub dinner to find that a Michelen star chef, Kevin Viner, prepared our food. It was superb. Our son-in-law has not stopped talking about his 'duck'!
Thank you very much for allowing us to share your piece of heaven, albeit for a few short days.
Lovely surroundings beautiful house.
The gardens are a lovely work in progress with interesting things especially the bird electra! The entrance to the house isnt for the health and safety minded lol the house itself had everything you needed and was very comfortable. The owner was very friendly and gave the kids sherbit for the 10 year olds bday! We did do a lot of driving over the week as there isnt much in the local vicinity. We really enjoyed our stay there were only two issues - one was the owners two dogs would appear a couple of times a day in our apartment dont get me wrong they are lovely and friendly but they would appear followed by the owner to call them back which didnt give us any privacy- one morning one of them woke one of the kids up by licking his face. On the last day one of the dogs appeared (which I believe was to ensure we were all up ready to check out) into the kitchen and started eating out of the bin it startled one of the guests so she knocked a glass into the sink. The owner charged us for the glass out of our deposit as he said it was antique he charged for a brand new glass even tjough it wasnt brand new when broken. There is no mention of antiques on the utencils description so be careful if using cups plates etc.
Great place to stay
Great location, very spacious and luxurious. Only stayed for one night, it was a great price and suited our larger family and dog. Would recommend it. The owner was very friendly and helpful
Beautiful house, quirky, lots of beautiful things, amazing views! Wouldn’t recommend for small children due to all the antiques. We loved it! Roger, (the sheep whisperer!)the host made us feel very welcome and joined us for dinner on our last night. Location is perfect , close to The Eden Project, we even traveled to Lands End. Truro is a lovely town. The apartment is spacious , well equipped and absolutely spotless- hope you’re reading this Roger! Thanks for making our holiday!
