Silver by name ....... gold by standard
My husband and our beautiful flat coat retriever have just enjoyed a lovely long stay in Silver Cottage. When we arrived the place was toasty warm , cosy and spotlessly clean. The cottage has a very well equipped kitchen , a wonderful shower room which makes the ordinary everyday shower just that little bit extra special. The owners are very friendly and obliging , they very kindly loaned us their travelcot which we were very grateful for as it enabled us to have our grandson stay with us for a few nights, the accommodation worked out perfectly . We enjoyed lovely country walks straight from the front door feeling perfectly safe away from the busy roads and traffic. Would I recommend Silver Cottage , most defiantly, the only down side was leaving . Oh ! and Btw, the welcome pack was most enjoyable.
Clean, complete with everything that could be needed. Owners were friendly and we loved their dogs ?
Weather and surroundings were lovely we just loved the garden and available paddock, as did our dog. We ate out at nearby restaurants particularly liked the Tickled Trout hotel. Everything in the cottage was first class and we had a wonderful week.
Silver Cottage gets gold from us!
The cottage is located at the end of a lane which allows for some privacy, but is not at all isolated as there are beautiful country houses close by. The setting is lovely, and the bird life, scenery, and sunsets are gorgeous. This is a well appointed, stylish, comfortable little home and during our stay gave us a peaceful haven while we looked for property to buy. There is everything you could want! The owners are extremely nice - responding quickly to the very few small issues that arose and always giving us space and respect. My sister and I loved Silver Cottage and will always be grateful for the calm and soothing contrast it provided to our hectic and busy lives while there. We cannot recommend it highly enough.
I'm so glad you enjoyed staying at Silver Cottage and its wonderful location. Thank you for the review and good luck in your new home. Best wishes, Mary and Jonny
We (Dutch family of four with two teenagers) enjoyed our holiday (one week in April 2018) in this Silver Cottage very much! The old cottage is situated next to a few beautiful old houses in a central area. The cottage is freshly painted and decorated in a beautiful style. The roll top bath is lovely as well! The dishwasher, washing machine, oven etc make life very enjoyable. We visited the white cliffs of Beachy Head, wow! Canterbury is a an old town with funky little shops with for example a fudge kitchen! Brighton is great as well! For the garden lovers: Sissinghurst Castle is near by and worth a visit! Do join the tours in the garden and house. We visited Rye as well. Do climb the stairs in the church and enjoy the view. We loved it all! Thank you so much for this wonderful week!
I'm so glad you had a fantastic time staying at Silver Cottage and enjoyed all the wonderful activities and places to visit in the surrounding area! It's great to hear you made the most of our beautiful (and sunny!) pocket of Kent. Please come and visit us again soon.
The local area has two main towns; Maidstone (the County town of Kent) and Tunbridge Wells with its picturesque Pantiles quarter. Both towns are a 20-30 minute drive from the property. The southeast of England is typically hotter and drier in the summer months than other parts of the UK and it receives less rainfall throughout the year.
The nearest train station is Marden (12 minute drive) or Paddock Wood (17 minute drive). This train takes you to London Charing Cross in 50 minutes. Or you can go to Maidstone East station (20 minute drive). This station takes you to London Victoria.
Ebbsfleet is 30 minute drive and from here you can board the EuroStar to France, Belgium and the Netherlands.
Traffic permitting it is possible to drive to the cottage from central London in one to one and a half hours.
