Big house, great setting
The house has large rooms and lots of light with gorgeous views. It takes some time to get used to navigating the narrow unpaved roads to reach it. We loved being there and walking Into town. I would suggest that the owner make sure there are wastebaskets in every bathroom, add more and brighter lighting, and a chef’s knife to the kitchen. Very hospitable snd accommodating host. Thanks!
Large house with great views
The house accommodated us well (up to 13 of us; 8 adults and 5 children; three generations with ages ranging from 7 to 74).Three of us were there for the full three weeks while other family members came when they could; in this way 17 different people enjoyed the house.
Its actual location suited us fine; walking and using public transport, but some people might feel it necessary to use a car. A 10-15 minute walk gets you to the railway station, with hourly trains to the airport/city.
We were met at the airport by the owner who was very helpful. If he was not available himself he was able to arrange a taxi for us.
The house would benefit from some additional shelving/hanging space in a couple of the bedrooms. The bathrooms and showers served us well.
Our stay was in the month of April, and the weather got quite warm by the end, but was never cold.
A short walk of about 10-15 minutes into town (Sferracavallo) got us to the little supermarket, bakeries and many eating places. Lots of places where seafood was a speciality. And always options for pizza and pasta and ice cream!
To be seen!
Great location to be in. Near to the town and getting to Palermo!
A true treasure
Wonderfuly immaculate and comfortable home that accommodated seven adults very well. The owner is very welcoming, friendly and courteous.
Overall, we Created great family memories! A true treasure.
Beautiful property in a relatively quiet location
Enjoyed the trip to Sicily and this was an excellent location for us to explore from. The property was clean, with plenty of space. The local town was a typical Sicilian fishing village, with plenty of great restaurants only 15 mins walk away.
The buses work quite well, but it was better to have a car to visit the many historical sites.
delightful vacation rental property in Palermo suburb
This is a lovely house, with 3 full baths, a potential 5 bedrooms. A little hard to find initially, but once there very pleasant. Big public rooms, balconies, stunning views of the mountains and sea. Nearby beaches, airport, small waterfront, and Palermo.
The owner/host Carmelo was very pleasant.
a few cons that shouldn't deter you: be sure the microwave is there, ask for toilet paper, and I hope - on our recommendation- he has put in some more waste baskets, and finished the lighting- the lighting's OK, but......
The house is located near the Gulf of Sferracavallo, an old village belonging to Palermo. It enjoys an excellent reputation thanks to its restaurants placed along the coast, where you can enjoy excellent fish and great seafood.
Sferracavallo is located at the foot of Monte Gallo. It 'features a rather lively town, with a picturesque harbor. The village continues along the pleasant port of Barcarello, from which you can start exciting and interesting trips to the rediscovery of our colorful sea. Due to its natural heritage, the whole area is a protected nature reserve that stretches from Isola delle Femmine to Capogallo.
Palermo is a city of art, rich in history, architecture, culture and traditions. The oldest part of the city is full of interesting places: Piazza Politeama and its famous theater; Teatro Massimo, the largest in Italy and third in Europe; Cathedral; the Royal Palace and Palatine Chapel; the Quattro Canti; the famous street markets of Ballarò, Capo and Vucciria; the Puppet Museum, extremely important to our tradition; the Botanical Garden which preserves important species of flora.
Also Palermo is full of hidden attractions! You can find them in small squares, alleys and even in the underground! Churches priceless, ancient buildings with beautiful architectural details, shrines, statues, gardens and mysterious places like the Qanat or routes of Beati Paoli. You will love!
