Apartment in Sidmouth, South Devon, England - All essential shops and amenities are within a short walk.

Sidview apartment, recently refurbished, is set back 50 metres from the seafront. Its main asset is its position, with a balcony providing views over the rooftops of Sidmouth to the cliffs beyond. The delightful town centre is also 50 metres away, along Chapel Street into Church Street. The small town centre is unique with fascinating shops, some traffic free cobbled streets and a peaceful unspoilt atmosphere. There are many restaurants and pubs in the town, most within easy walking distance. The seafront is little changed from a century ago and remains uncommercialised.

The owners were born and brought up in Sidmouth and have recently moved back after several decades away. Now that we are (mostly) retired, we have time to really focus on the lettings and take great satisfaction in giving our guests the best holiday let experience that we can provide.

The apartment was purchased in 2010 as a personal holiday home. As soon as we moved in we realised what a fantastic location it was for a Holiday Let so started letting in 2011.

What makes this apartment unique

As well as benefiting from having secure parking (with lift from the car park level) and great views from the balcony and lounge, the apartment is within close proximity to: shops, restaurants and bars in the unspoilt regency town of Sidmouth. Also to beaches and walks with a backdrop of fantastic scenery.

We endeavour to ensure that our apartment is always in perfect condition for our guests. We offer a well stocked kitchen and try to provide our guests with the best possible service.

Our guests feedback reassures us that we are achieving our aims in this respect.

Coast/Beach:

Sidmouth nestles between dramatic red sandstone cliffs 500 feet high. A wide, level, promenade stretches the half mile seafront. The main beach (Sand, Shingle at high tide) is 50 meters away. A quarter of a mile to the West is Jacobs ladder beach with a half mile of golden sand under the Cliffs of Peak Hill. Further to the West are the beaches of Ladram Bay, Budleigh Salterton and Exmouth (5 miles). To the East are the beaches of Salcombe Regis, Weston, Branscombe and Beer (4 miles).

Travel:

Exeter Airport is 12 miles away and Bristol 65 miles.

The M5 J30 is 12 miles.

A car is useful to explore villages further afield but buses are frequent to most.

There are a huge number of walks within range without the need to drive.

Many guests park on arrival at the apartment then do not use their vehicles until they leave to go home!

Notes on accommodation: The apartment is suitable for a maximum of 3 adults or 2 adults plus 2 childremsleeps 2 with an additional 2 on the King size sofa bed. There is an additional charge of £10/day/person for use of the sofa bed, (Well Behaved) Dogs are welcomed at £20/week. No smoking Outside: The balcony outside the lounge overlooks rooftops to Salcombe Hill to the East with a glimpse of the sea to the south. To the north is a 50 metre walk to 'The Triangle' the bus terminus with buses to other parts of the Sid valley, and surrounding villages and towns, including Exeter. The local 'Hoppa' bus runs between the hills on either side of Sidmouth. Another 30-50 meters afield is the Church, Cricket pitch, Croquet, Tennis and Bowls Lawns together with Sidmouth Rugby Club. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All towels, bedding, etc provided. Flat cleaned prior to arrival Other: Large Hallway leading to all other rooms

Central for everything,we had a lovely few days only wish we could have stayed longer,also it was a bonus for us to take our dog.

Small but well placed and well equipped flat

The flat is situated very near the town centre. The kitchen and bathroom have been modernised, but the rest of the flat retains a 60's air. The unattractive sprawling block is behind a seafront hotel and the car park and entrance are unimpressive. The flat was clean, tidy and well-equipped but the lounge is oddly furnished (2 sofas for 2 people, but a small table to eat off that needs to be moved to the centre of the room).

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. This is first time we have had less than 4 stars in 4 years of holiday letting. We are very attached to our apartment and take personal pride in ensuring that it is presented and equipped to ensure that our guests have comfortable and relaxing stay. We do take feedback seriously and act on it, if practical and reasonable. Our photos are a clear representation of the apartment. For clarification, the table has a gate leg, so for 2 guests, it does not need to be moved out. The flat is approx 70 sq mt compared to a UK avg of 56.9. The block was built in 1978 and our flat was completely refurbished 5 years ago. Of course, everyone has there own opinion, but these comments were so at odds with our usual feedback, I felt the need to respond with some clarification. Steve Cole

Excellent Holiday Let

From the welcome on our arrival to the moment we left, we could not have been more pleased, with both the property, and it's position. The property itself was very secure, with private parking. It was well maintained and provisioned, and very comfortable, and our stay was a joy in every respect, for everything possible had been done to ensure that our stay would be an enjoyable one.

Sidmouth itself, and it's people, are friendly and welcoming, and it's hospitality is second to none. Our thanks to all who made our stay a happy one.

Very clean and well sited for town and sea front

The property was very clean and comfortable. All the equipment you could ask for in a holiday flat.The only thing I would have liked was a electric shaver point in the bathroom.
