This is a charming apartment in the ancient farmhouse, ideal for a couple.
Restored in authentic Tuscan style, it has stone walls and red “cotto” flooring.
The “Aia” is composed by a small, nice living-room with a small kitchen, a large, romantic double bedroom, and a bathroom with shower.
From the bignonia pergola in front of the apartment, equipped for outdoor lunches and candlelight dinners, you can enjoy a wonderful panoramic view of the countryside.
“Il Bacio” Farm holiday is located in the heart of Chianti, surrounded by beautiful Tuscan hills covered with vineyards and olive groves.
The ancient farmhouse, the former barn and the wood-house have been carefully restored and tastefully furnished, preserving the original structure together with the characteristics of old Tuscan houses.
Each apartment has its own independent entrance, a beautiful panoramic view of the countryside, and a private outdoor space in the shade of a grape pergola and equipped for outdoor lunches and candlelight dinners.
At our family-farm there is a swimming-pool (12x6 meters), surrounded by a large garden facing the valley, from where it is possible to enjoy an enchanting view of the surrounding hills. Here each apartment has its own umbrella with deckchairs and sunbeds. In our swimming-pool, the water is slightly salted with no added chlorine, and thus more delicate for skin and eyes, in addition to the environmental benefits.
At “Il Bacio” we produce certified organic Chianti wine, grappa, and extra virgin olive oil. Franco and Daniele will be glad to welcome you to our ancient cellar to walk you through the main steps of the wine-making process and taste our organic wines alongside local specialties.
In 1991, Franco and Sonia, together with their sons Andrea and Daniele, moved from the city to the country-side, to the farm Il Bacio. A few years later Giulia arrived, followed recently by grandson Pietro.
Since the beginning, they devoted themselves with passion and dedication to organic farming, producing wine and olive oil.
In 1997, following a long renovation of the farmhouse, the barn and the wood-house, the farm-holiday opened.
The family welcomes you to Il Bacio, together with our sweet dog Agata and our two donkeys, Nuccia and Violetta.
Sonia Macconi purchased this apartment in 1991
My wife and I recently visited this wonderful place for an anniversary trip to Italy and it was a major highlight of our trip! To begin, we saw the pictures listed on the site and instantly fell in love with the place before we left the States. When we arrived, their home exceeded our expectations. More importantly, we truly felt at home. Sonia and Franco were wonderful hosts, and they were very loving and accommodating during our entire visit. They recommended a great place for dinner in town, as well as 2 excellent places for Italian pastries and coffee. We were welcomed at the beginning of our visit with a bottle of fantastic organic wine created from grapes in their vineyard. We toured their wine-making operation on the last day of our visit and learned more about how the wine was made. I enjoyed their wine so much that I bought a case (as well as some organic olive oil) that Franco arranged to have shipped back to America. Sadly, our holiday in Italy is over but I'm counting the days until the wine from Il Bacio Agritourisimo arrives! We can't wait to come back to visit again! Phil & Lori
Stayed for a week on our honeymoon. Had a fantastic time here! Franco and Sonia were wonderful hosts. The location is perfect - rural and quiet, but a quick drive into Tavarnelle to stick up on supplies. Also very convenient for driving around the Chianti region and beyond - San Gimignano, Volterra, Siena, etc
We rented the Aia suite - spacious, clean and had everything we needed. Pool is perfect. Friendly cats, dog and donkeys :)
Great experience and would definitely come back here in the future.
This property is located between Firenze and Sienna in the country side. The apartment is clean and has all you need if you choose to make your meals at home. There is a outdoor table area where you can sit outside and enjoy the warm evenings. Sonia and Franco were very hospitable and were very helpful in providing direction to nearby attractions. Our son enjoyed the salt water pool. There is a vineyard and wine tasting , unfortunately we ran out of time. We felt very welcomed and next time we visit we will stay for longer so we can enjoy the beautiful setting. Thank you Franco and Sonia for making us feel at home!
We were amazed by how peaceful iI Bacio is. It is such a wonderful place and Sonia and Franco are incredible hosts. We hope to come back again some day! I cannot say enough positive things about this wonderful little piece of heaven!
The apartment was exactly as expected- clean, tidy and smart..the family (hosts) were exactly what I hoped for as a "traditional" Italian family, with all the generations enjoying meals together..and the "home made" wine was excellent....and the access to both Florence and Siena was easy, and the local restaurants in Tavernelle were very good
When we arrived at the farmhouse, we could not believe how beautiful the landscape was: rolling hills, vineyards every direction, fig and cherry trees framing the buildings, blooming roses and potted plants immaculately kept up. And our room was delightful--an old stone farmhouse updated in all the right places. Sonia and Franco were warm and helpful. We were able to rest, relax, and explore both Chianti and other parts of Tuscany--all very close. Can't recommend this highly enough!
The family farm Il Bacio is located in the heart of Tuscany, nestled in gently sloping hills covered in vineyards and olive groves, typical of the Chianti region, a unique territory known for its landscapes, history, food and wine.
Il Bacio is the ideal base for exploring all of the main Tuscan cities of art. Florence, cradle of the Renaissance, is only 30 minutes away. Siena, medieval jewel, can be reached in less than 40 minutes. San Gimignano, with its medieval towers, is 30 minutes away. Pisa, with the wonderful Miracles Square and Leaning Tower, and Lucca, with its splendid walls, are within a one-hour drive. Pienza, Renaissance jewel, and Montalcino and Montepulciano, with their world-renowned wines, are a little more than one hour away. Finally, the picturesque Cinque Terre are around two hours by car.
The closest town is Tavarnelle Val di Pesa, which is 3 Km away and where there are numerous stores and various types of restaurants.
Surrounding our farm there are numerous charming medieval villages, such as Barberino Val d’Elsa and Greve in Chianti. Last, but not least, around us there are several foot and bike paths of remarkable panoramic and architectural interest.
